There really is just something about Japanese sentai theme songs. I'm glad now that when they get revived it seems like a rule to have an even more XTREME version of the theme.
So here's a question: was that shark baddie the inspiration for the Pokemon Sharpedo or are they both referencing something else with that distinctive yellow cross scar on their faces?
From what you showed, there may not have been enough of the suit actors in isolation for Saban to be confident there was enough footage to cheaply adapt the show...I’m up for it, and will check out the Toei Channel...
I know Saban also released Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog. It was the first original show with no Japanese counterpart. Was basically medieval power rangers. It was supposed to have another season, but was cancelled in favor of Power Rangers Lost Galaxy. Power Rangers in Space was supposed to be the end of the series but that wasn’t meant to be. I know there were some plans made for a Mystic Knights season 2 and would have like to see where they could have gone with that. I wouldn’t mind a reboot of that show either
Best guess as to why they didn't bring this show over to the US is the Japanese live actors, I'd imagine it would have been harder than when they used footage of the original villain in Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger and made her Rita Repulsa with a dubbed voice over and make it look convincing to the American audience.
