Really nice looking campground....hopefully it'll be a stop for us next year!
Great job on the video. It gave me everything I needed to know. Great information!
Glad it was helpful! Lou
So happy I found this video. My family and I used to go camping here in the 1970s when it was called the American Heritage Campground. Not much has changed believe it or not. There used to be a bigger building at the front when you checked in. There were also horse stables not far from the entrance for horse back riding and hay rides. But the Trading Post and the piers are still there pretty much unchanged. The pools didn't exist then. They had a small restaurant in the Trading Post and I would go there for their chili dogs. They would also have bands play on Friday/Saturday nights then have fireworks. On another video from this campground, I saw the spot where we frequently reserved for our camper. Great times. I'd like to go there again and just ride around and check it out one more time.
Wow - Thank you for sharing this heartfelt memory. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Lou
We stayed in that exact site in July 2020 also. That was our first time going there. It's not too far from our home so we will be visiting there often and taking our pontoon boat next season. We liked being right by the pool and store. Nice video!
Retired Adventures Cool - Thanks for the feedback, and thank you for watching!
Beautiful place
It really is!
Good review! You can get NC fishing licenses at check-in. Our teens caught big catfish off of the Willow point ( across the dock from check-in). They loved cleaning, cooking & eating their catfish. One of our favorite southeast TT.
Thanks for the info!
Jason here!
Checking in saying Hey!
Great place!
Thanks Jason. Corresponded with your mom on Facebook a few days ago. Happy camping!

LOL! That's funny! I told them about about you guys!
Great review!! We will be there next week!
Thank you for the feedback. Much appreciated. Have fun!
Love your video,I’ll be there next month 4/2021,are sites easy to get into about 10 at night.
Great question. Many of the sites are not level and there are trees throughout the campground. For this reason, I'd recommend arriving during daylight. Maybe you can call the park after the reservation is made to get their recommendation. Maybe they will be kind and earmark a suitable site or sites for you. Thanks for watching! Lou
Definitely looks like a nice Campground. I think we'd like to visit there. My wife like the idea of having a sign spot, did you say that's what they do here.?
It sure has a campground feel. Reminds us of state park camping. Not sure what you mean about a "sign spot". Thanks for watching Denny. Lou
