This is one of our favorite Thousand Trails too. I walked on the beach every night and Fred and I went to the hot tub often. Back then the store was closed the whole time that we were there or I would have bought a Whalers Rest Sweatshirt. We have not used our cabin benefit, yet. We missed Melody doing the laundry review. Thank you for sharing this review. It make us want to go back. Mary 💕 Fred

Lou..thanks for the wonderful review. The Oregon Coast is absolutely stunning. For 30 years we lived a couple hours away and look forward to visiting it again in our Motorhome. Safe travels.

It really is! This campground has some awesome cabins. It is on my fly-in list, fly into Portland, rent a car, and spend a week in this great location. Be sure to catch our next video on Newport Oregon.

We have stayed at Whalers Rest Thousand Trails several times and we can attest to the accuracy of your video. We love this campground ot only for the campground but its location to Newport ( a great town with lots to see and do). We especially love going up to Yaquina Head lighthouse and yes we even saw whales close to 5he shore. It is a must see place and extremely enjoyable.

This looks like an amazing campground. Eventually we're going to make it to that part of the United States and when we do I want to have this one on our list! Thank you so much. Lynn and Danny

Yes! I agree 110% that looks like a great place to stay! I love the lighthouses around in different places ! I collected lighthouses at one time, and had a wooden one like those, in my backyard, that would light up!(long gone now, it crumble away over the years) I have my eye on one that I saw, and might get from a roadside shop, on our way to the Assateague seashore. lol Nice store, and outside there, what a cool, hugh, Connect Four game to play !! Awsome, I have never seen one of those, and now I want one! lol Love the pool table, thats always fun, and wow, nice pool and hot tub too!! I hope you were able to enjoy them during your stay!! That is a nice walk over to the beach also! And a nice beach it was! Loved the picnic tables overlooking the beach. Nice laundryroom (missed seeing Melody's tour tho, she always does a fantastic job!) Cabins looked really nice!! Campsite's were nicely spaced apart, with nice privacy in each site, well maintained grounds also. I can see why you liked this place ! Thanks for sharing ,and having us along! Hey, how's Milo doing? Havent seen him much in the video's, and miss him! Stay safe , vicky

it is great and we live there in the winters. problem is that maintenance on the park has been sadly lacking. The pool was closed from November through when we left on our trip in April because it needs a new roof. there had been no plans to repair when we left. there are street lighting in the park that is missing or hanging by wiring that supposedly is scheduled to be updated but that has been like that for over 4 years. the wifi in the Lighthouse area only got repaired after we complained and contacted the wifi company. this took 4+ months trying to get a park person to make a call and get the contracted equipment repaired.
    don't get me wrong I m
love the place but would like to see my fees and dues being used there for upkeep, safety and be able to use the pool. we will be back in October and hope to see some bug changes.

Great video!! I plan to go from Phoenix to Whalers Rest in May. Is it possible to avoid high mountain passes?

We traveled I-5 from Oregon into California and the trek was not bad. There are multiple routes from I-5 to US 101 that are relatively easy to travel. Lou

Don't forget when you get to South Jetty take the time to go to Sandland Adventures for a ride in the dunes you won't Regret it and if you don't go you will miss out on something spectacular. They are right next door to the campground. I believe the manager at the campground son is a driver there. Say I sent you.
