The Everything Base - Part 8 - Oxygen Not Included

This is the eighth VOD in a series where I am undertaking my most ambitious run yet. I will be trying to do more or less everything the game has to offer. That includes the new Frosty Planet Pack DLC, an all achievement run, and then later colonizing all 9 planetoids and using almost every critter, plant, power generation method and oxygen generation!

Main advantage of short range rockets is dumping some rovers on the planet itself those can help a lot with simple manual labor. It’s easy to setup and transport early on but then again I try to put rockets into space asap around cycle 20 to 30 ish. Mainly to get that extra labor

Standard dreckos + pikeapple bushes = infinite free food.
If my math is correct its 1280 kcal per 3 dreckos and 400 per plant. So 1 full stable can give ~9760 kcal (bbq and cooked pikeapples).
As coolant for plants (that need -14 C) I used petroleum. It took maybe 5 cycles to cool the environment but now it can easly keep up with the incoming phosphorite. Of course even ethanol would be better.

Yes, overall I think all the new critters are very strong numbers wise, and bammoths and floxes are really quite easy to ranch too.

​@@GCFungus I wasn't paying very close attention and nearly wiped out both at separate times--the bammoths produce heat that can kill their own squashes, and my floxes stopped laying eggs at one point based on just the chill from the map getting them slightly below -30. They're not that hard but they've got some gotchas.

Also rockets don’t need fuel to land so technically rockets can fly one tile more then they say, they do use the fuel if available

I don't believe this is true, that used to be the case but I'm fairly sure now both landing and take-off use fuel.

i had my rocket at 0 tile of fuel left and been able to land it. you just have to do it from the landing pad

Problem with gold needet for bleach stone and oxylite is that there are planetoids without swamp biomes and gold volcanoes.
