  • The Grand Canyon is truly one of world's breathtaking experiences. I had the pleasure of visiting the Grand Canyon South Rim for the first time with ‪@rosiediairies‬ . We visited the Mather Point and then took in a short walk along the Rim Trail to take in all the natural beauty.

I wanted a nice background to propose to my girlfriend so in 1986 I told her to pack her bags because we are going on a long roadtrip. We drove from Queens, NY to the Grand Canyon where I proposed at sunset. She said YES and we've been married ever since.

I just came home from a photography trip to the Grand Canyon. First in 2022, when I saw most of the south rim overlooks. And this year I focused more on the north rim. It’s really worth seeing both rims. Unfortunately, the altitude takes more of a toll on me now. It’s a love-hate relationship. I love the awesomeness of it, and it scares me and fills me with great anxiety. But I keep going back for the beauty! LoL

I am not kidding when I say, I was speechless. Look at 9:21. The way the colors fade as you look further out, it simply looks like it's a photo or fake. It's that spectacular. This is the comment I needed to see.
I live in L.A. and am embarking on a solo 5 day road trip through the American Southwest. The usual sites are set-Zion, Monument Valley, Horseshoe Bend-but I was debating whether or not to visit the Grand Canyon.
Have a feeling my experience is going to be just like yours. At least in Zion I can hike, there’s more versatility in the nature to see. GC is beautiful but after that initial “wow”, I’m not sure what else to do asides from admire the view for all about 5 minutes, take a few photos and go back to my car. All just so I can get to tell people “yeah I did the Grand Canyon.” Not worth it, not alone at least. Maybe with family in the future.

Great coverage of Mather Point. It is Majestic!!! I don't recommend July for going there. We went last week of October. Great weather for hiking Grand Canyon trails, and except for once, we always found parking available at the Village and different RIM trails .
