Okay Brother, recording in 4k is good as the video will still retain the quality or 4k even after exporting at 1080p. Exporting in 4k won’t matter for shorts/reels. For long form it does. You can export it in 4k as well. Reducing exposure will bring down any highlights that are blown up by the phone.

When I upload a reel on a side account that I made to check the quality of the reel when it uploads before uploading on my actual account, the quality is same as the one I exported (very good quality) but when I upload this same reel on my Instagram business account, the quality becomes so poor. The reel becomes so blurry and soft. I think we can never understand how instagram works. So annoyed 😫

You will have to use 9:16 as canvas and the video layer on it of 1:1.
