ABBA fans gather for sing-along in New York's Central Park as band announces new music

ABBA fans are ready to go on a "Voyage," as the popular Swedish band announced Thursday (02 SEPT. 2021) that they have recorded new music.
Fans of all ages gathered at Rumsey Playfield in New York's Central Park for a surprise announcement from Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, who delivered the news via livestream from the ArcelorMittal Orbit in London. The event began with the premiere of "I Still Have Faith In You," ABBA's first music video in 39 years. The single will be the first track on the band's ninth studio album, "Voyage."
"I was really sucked in, and it was more of an ephemeral experience. It was so cool to be outside and be in public spaces again and hear good music," said fan Azendé Johnson.
Andersson and Ulvaeus revealed more information on the group's new holographic show. The band spent five weeks performing every song of the new show in front of 160 motion capture cameras. A new arena was constructed in east London for the performance.
"I think it's cool and interesting and I love that they also have been a part of it. Someone didn't just buy their image, but they are recording the entire concert and people can watch it until the end of time," Johnson added.
Fans were not deterred by the flooding that hit New York Wednesday night. Dirk Kowalski flew to New York from San Diego earlier in the week for the event.
"When the storm hit here yesterday, I was in shock. I was so afraid that it would be canceled but with this blue sky now I am happy that it didn't. I was the first one here this morning. I was literally here at eight o'clock. I scouted everything out yesterday already and I would have come here rain or shine today," said Kowalski.
"Voyage" will be released on Nov. 5.
The virtual version of the band will begin a series of concerts in London on May 27.

People are so sick and tired of Covid and its restrictions. What better way to have some fun than ABBA. So glad to see them reuniting for this new albumn. ABBA has proven they can be popular from one generation to another. It's great to see the young kids, singing and knowing the words to the ABBA songs. People outside having some fun I love it.

These two songs aren't even in Billboard 100 Single Chart, it is so damn shame, Don't Shut Me Down peaked at #8 in US iTunes for a day then started dropping, I still have faith in you peak at #12 and that was it. US listeners only favorite Drake, Kanye West, Justin Bieber etc,
