Notice how many different languages there are in these comments? I’ve already seen people writing in German, Spanish, Russian, Swedish and Greek. That’s how beloved ABBA is all around the world. The didn’t have to write and record new songs to do a reunion, and they certainly didn’t have to make their comeback single sound like an instant classic. But they did it anyway. It wasn’t nostalgia that made me cry watching this video,; rather, it was the fact that they care so much about their legacy that they waited until they had a song this good. Thank you for the music.

    Dear ABBA,....
I’m a 58 year old retired US Army Paratrooper, and I just listened to your song, ”I still have faith in you”. I’m crying like a small child, but I have a huge smile on my face, and warmth in my Heart. I have the feeling of happiness once again thanks to you.
I was married to my beautiful wife Lisa for 34 WONDERFUL years....she was my everything. She played your music at our wedding, and on our anniversaries, and when I returned home from deployments away from her while I was in the military....she adored you, and your music! YOU made her so happy with your music.
I took her to see the Broadway show “Mama Mia” in New York for our last wedding anniversary and she was so happy,... YOU ...made her happy, both on the inside and on the outside. Because of YOU, I have this vision, this mental picture of her in my mind from that night with her huge smile and big brown eyes bright and happy...thank you for that gift!! She passed away very suddenly not too long after taking her to see that show, and every time since then, when I would hear your songs on the radio, I can picture her smile, but your music has been fading from the radio as the years have gone by. But Tonight, hearing you sing once again!!...you have brought my Lisa back to me... I can see her clearly in my mind once again, ..your music has brought her back to life, and back to me In ways I just I can not explain....I just wish she could have been hear to witness this event, she would have gone crazy!! LOL...Thank you!! You have brought peace back to my soul again, and I can feel the love in my heart once more where it has been a cold and lonely place since she left to be my angel in heaven.
Thank you, thank you, my dear dear friends, ABBA....and one more thing my old friends....
    YES,..yes, .....
I DO hear the drums now, .........Fernando.😇

Me and my dad (81yrs.) were sitting at the dining table and listened to Abba's new songs, yesterday... while we watched through the tall windows of the living-room into the green of our garden. We were near tears because of remembering my mom, who liked Abba so much and passed away 5 years ago. There was so much melancholie, consoling and joy at the same time by hearing ABBA's wonderful new songs. Mom, we would have danced through the living-room, if you were still alive.

Can't believe that those are the voices of two ladies in their seventies; they sound just as good as they did 40+ years ago! And the song is lovely; was worried that their new songs wouldn't live up to the brilliant music they produced in the past but those worries were unfounded. REALLY happy they are having this reunion; I feel like I'm a teenager all over again!

I was driving along earlier today when this emotional song was broadcast on the radio....I could've sworn it was ABBA..deeper female voices, but familiar....it was! I thought to myself, "I know all the Abba songs, for what reason had I missed listening to this one all those years ago? Why hadn't I heard it even once over the years? Was this some obscure B-side extra that had been strangely uncovered?" When I heard that it had only just come out, the enormity of the reunion and collaboration dawned on me....one of the greatest pop groups of all time made a comeback after almost four decades, against all odds! All still alive and kicking...fantastic! 🇸🇪❤️

My mum and I always sang & danced to their songs throughout my childhood, they are some of my most precious memories. I can’t wait to listen to this with my mum, we’ll both probably get really emotional. I remember saying on my 17th birthday while singing and dancing to Dancing Queen with my mum that I hoped ABBA would make a return and now it’s happening. Absolutely if Abba's comeback infuses hope and joy to people at this time, that really is great. It has been a terrible time for many I personally know too, and anything that makes people happier is of course welcome. In the context of that, the debate whether the music is 'great' or not becomes very irrelevant. A parallel possibly is popular music of WW2 where some of it wasn't always 'great' music but it gave pleasure to many people, and that in itself is admirable. They could have tried to suck up to the trends in a desperate attempt to sound "contemporary" (whatever that means...), but instead they delivered something that continues their beautiful legacy. I see this as a sign of integrity, not to mention a deep respect to their loyal fans. I still would have prefered to see them in their current selves, instead of younger versions of the band members, but I understand that this serves as a way to promote their avatar concerts. The interview clips where you see the four of them recording these songs and/or discussing them are extremely moving.

The first album I owned was Abba Arrival... a Christmas present -- with a mono cassette player! -- from Mum in 1976. We weren't well off, and she had 4 of us to buy for, so this was a big deal for her. But it was a huge disappointment for me, because I wanted Tubular Bells! Abba? ABBA? Not Led Zeppelin? Not Pink Floyd? Not Yes? Thanks Mum, it's... er, just what I wanted.
45 years later I still listen to Tubular Bells and the rest sometimes, but this new music has made me cry. Abba might not have been what I wanted back then, but their music has been a constant in my life -- our lives -- all this time, and now I get great pleasure from belting out some of their greatest hits on guitar. What used to be 'just pop music' have become timeless classics as relevant today as they were at the time... if I'd bothered to listen.
What can I say? I was young!
Neither I nor Abba are young any more, and you can hear that in the new work. But it's not old as in rusty Saab, it's old as in fine wine; old as in wisdom; old as in experienced. Old as in precious, because the older you get, the less time's left and the less chance there is you'll hear more from them.
I'll be buying the new album and playing it to my Mum. Mum may tap her foot, she may not; time will tell. Dementia has stolen almost all of her, so I can't thank her for that long lost Abba Arrival cassette. But I can keep trying to make her as happy as possible as she fades, so cruelly, away. I owe her that.
Abba owe us nothing, but this new music is a real, unexpected delight. May they continue to fade away gracefully... wonderfully... joyously. Thank you for the music!

Beautiful words. ABBA on cassette brings back memories. My parents bought "ABBA the Singles" on double vinyl, and my father recorded it to cassette for me and my sister to play on our Walkmans (actually a cheaper equivalent). One of my first purchases was "The Visitors" on cassette, still one of my all-time favorite albums. ABBA and Mike Oldfield have the same musical purity, if you will (note-perfect, melodic brilliance). Hence Mike did a cover version of "Arrival". Even though he made many albums in between, Oldfield's "Return to Ommadawn" brought me close to tears, because it was a return to the pristine beauty of the early albums such as "Ommadawn". Likewise, ABBA's new songs (new for us but actually recorded and originally announced in 2018) is also a return to the pristine beauty of, say, "Like an angel..." on The Visitors. The new songs sound familiar yet fresh at the same time. An absolutely brilliant comeback.

This song is a perfect re-introduction of ABBA to the world. It sounds new and old all at once and epitomizes what has always made them brilliant. The moment I heard Frida hit that lower register it brought tears to my eyes! You can hear the life and experience in her voice and it adds another layer to their sound that just wouldn't have been possible in the 1970s or 1980s. I'm so excited to hear the rest of the album!

I think that, after these 39 years, Benny, Björn, Agnetha and Frida have finally understood that they are an immense part of the history of music. I want to believe that, by accepting that responsibility and acting with their well known humility, they know deep down that they owe humanity one more gift. It is not a matter of money. I'm 56. Since 1974 I have experienced the release of all their singles and albums with great excitement, and I could never imagine ABBA releasing another after 'The Visitors', which marked the end of an era. Having listened to two new songs, it wouldn't be fair to have an opinion of the new album, though it already sounds wonderful. It may not be an ABBA reunion the way people wish, but the only idea of enjoying a new album is a blessing. I don't think there is a single week in my life that I have not listened to their music, which has proven to be timeless and beyond all trends. Thanks once again for the music, ABBA!

Crazy that Agnetha and Anni-Frid are in their 70's, yet barely lost a step vocally with these two new songs. And what's more mind blowing is that these songs have such a classic Abba "sound" to them. It's as if they were recorded in the 70's alongside their other hits. I am so impressed by these releases..truly love Abba.

How a band can come back after a near 40 year break, and achieve this seamless gap is incredible! As a child, in 1982, when ABBA faded away I had to deal with it, like everyone did. But today, listening to these 2 songs, you have taken me back to 1982 (circa), and what could and should have been. THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART. The world has turned in that time, good and bad things have happened over the years, but today, these songs have made me cry everytime I listen to them. You were right to "still have faith", in yourselves and us. The joy you have brought me (and many others) is the same as when I rushed out to buy all those other "epic" albums. To all of you who commented my statement. Those two new songs don't come anywhere near the classic ABBA songs that I love! One song is just music and there is no ABBA members in it. I still have faith in you just shows a collage of ABBA. It was addressed to Aurora Hoya: who said they meaning ABBA single handedly united the world and no one else could have done that! What does that mean, Aurora, doesn't explain why the songs changed the world ,she just assumes they do? ABBA, when they broke up was not that popular in the United States. ABBA became more popular after their songs were featured in movies ,a greatest hits album in the 90s and a wonderful musical, then the movies called Momma Mia 1 & 2. Which between those 2 movies grossed over 1 billion dollars. These things I mentioned made them extremely popular. Their classic ABBA songs are still very popular for the reasons I just related to you. Aurora, gives a statement with no facts! Which you see often on UA-cam comments on all types of music. I don't think these songs are great, they are good but they will not change the world. There is a lot of promo going on for these songs, future album and virtual concert( s). ABBA, hired the best people in the business for the virtual concerts. Bjorn & Benny are great songwriters and have done work on music projects after the group disbanded. However, if you notice there are a lot of subscriber groups & people with UA-cam channels writing the reviews. That alone sends up red flags for me! Like I said, I like the songs but they are not great. When you compare them to the original ABBA songs, they don't stand a chance. These are promo videos, there are not real videos. They were put out there to test the waters. ABBA should rest on the succuss they have created from their catalogue of songs. ABBA ,is being very cautious in releasing only two songs and not the album. You have to wait until November for the album and then digital concerts or virtual concerts. I like Paul McCartney's style. He was with the Beatles first, then Wings and then a solo act. He has been playing for many decades and has not lost a beat. When my wife and I saw him at a live not virtual sold out concert at our local major league Baseball Park we were very happy. If you can't play live, your music won't be any good. ABBA to me does not like the fact, that others took hold of their music and made it so famous. Now they want a chance to do something worthwhile. This is all promotion, they won't be performing live and that means they can't do it. What has ABBA been doing for 40 years? Not playing music! I hope it works out for them. However, I think it is a public relations game. I heard Bela Fleck & his wife this morning on the radio. Bela is 63 and has been playing for decades. He was poignant when talking to the host and played live and the sound was excellent. I am not buying into this program that ABBA is trying to do! I am a guy who enjoys music especially on vinyl because it replicates the natural sound of music. I will not take the bait like a fish would before it takes a bite. What will ABBA do after the one album and digital/virtual concerts? It is not a reunion. Why are there no ABBA members singing in the videos? So , I will pass on the whole thing. I will look at it from the outside. I just don't understand why no one can see through this thing as not 100% real! I am not being negative, I am being realistic. ABBA has been planning this for years as one of the male members said. I recently saw another Scandinavian group do a live version of a famous hit from the 1985 called " Take on me" by A-ha. The lead singers name is Morten Harket. He did an acoustic live version of that song. His voice was strong and to me it was an improvement on the original.A-ha had been playing and making albums most of the time since their 1985 hit. I just don't buy or like what ABBA is doing. BTW, don't assume my political party affiliation. Please, stick to the music. Don't stray into another field, this happens often on UA-cam.
