Do you think it's was worth returning the s7 and waiting for this S8
Just from reading the specs and what I have seen so far, I would keep the S7 MaxV. Won't know for sure how good it is until I have a unit to test.
@@RobotMasters from what I read the lifting brush and the vac then mop mode along with the built in warm air thing and the increase suction seem to be the difference and some aesthetics changes. But wanted to see if you knew more
@Mike Mils Yep that basically it. It's a mid cycle update.
I love see this robots evolving more and more every year
How do u afford all the newest vacuums. I'd love to buy them all myself lol
Gibt es keine Beutellose Absaugstation mehr?
Schade....
Great review thanks
Hi Nathen, is the new one has auto water draining system? or again manual.
There was much information or images of the dock so I am not sure if this dock has a built in drainage port. Roborock might offer different variations based on what area of the world the dock is sold in. So some docks may offer this feature.
The warm air dryer is overrated. I added it to my MAX and it really didn’t do to much. I am shocked they can do the dual rollers since iRobot has the patent. There might be a lawsuit coming or it will be barred from selling in the US.
It expires in may, which the Roborock will launch after.
@@BonaDeum Ah, good to know. You know your robots!
@@MrKornnugget It is an ancient patent to be fair. & not even an original brush design. You can find carpet cleaner patents from the 20th century with the same counter-rotating dual roller layout
@@ExclamationMarx Sure. I just remember that I-Robot had the patent on a dual roller design. I am not sure what was specific to their design let them patent it, but I do remember them suing over it in the past.
@@MrKornnugget I think they were granted the patent because it was specifically referring to that brush design being used in an "Autonomous floor cleaner" so technically speaking they had a patent on all robot vacuums that had that brush design
this much more stylish look. I can believe that you would think that old design looks better
Can you answer this question for me? If I understand it, you can program the 8 pro ultra to Vacuum, where it will withdraw the mop. When it is done, it will return to the dock, empty the dust bin, then repeat the cleaning. This time, with the rollers withdrawn and the mop extended. In essence, you can tell it to vacuum, then mop, without any other inputs? I have the S7 Max V ultra and love it, but it vacuums and mops in the same run, lifting up the mop when it comes to a carpet. While this cleans very well, I believe the ability for it to do what I described above will result in a much better cleaning. Am I on the right track?
Yes you have the ability to Vacuum only, mopping pads lift up, Mop Only or do both simultaneously. There a carpet sensor so depending on what mode you are in will boost Vacuum suction or lift the mopping pad when there carpet. As for Vacuum first than mop that is possible as well.
What happened to Roomba? They are 10 years behind Roborock
Yes they need some catching up to do. I believe there are finally releasing a all in one vacuum/mopping robot.
@@RobotMasters They did and it sucks. If they invent a time machine they can go back 10 years and release it.
I think the issue is that iRobot haven't felt the need to improve their products much because their dual roller patent has basically given them a monopoly on carpet cleaning for the past 20 years or so. Remember that, before the j7+ combo, Roombas hadn't really received any hardware upgrades since the 980 in 2015.
I think they're realising that they'll need to actually put in work to stay in the lead now. The j7+ Combo (Being the first Roomba in 7 years to have a new piece of hardware) being launched so close to the dual roller patent's expiration date? I don't think that was a coincidence
Very cool robot! But where is my dock TOUCHSCREEN ROBOROCK!??
Sadly no fancy touch screen
@@RobotMasters :(
@@RobotMasters AND WHY IS THE WATER TANK INTERNAL AND THE SIDE BRUSH BRISTLE?
@Mr. BlueCreeper On the white model looks like the water tank is removable. Hard to tell though. I wish there was more done on the S8 Pro.
@@RobotMasters yea it looks internal
Roborock is cunning: S5 no videocamera, S6 with videocamera, S7 first no camera , after second model with camera.
Now S8 don’t have a videocamera, i suppose next model will have the camera…
I'm not so sure the upgrade will be that massive. The new roller design is interesting but otherwise, I think Robot Vacuums have reached an innovation peak for the time being. It's "cool" but probably not enough to justify an upgrade. I'm still after an S7 because from all the reviews I've seen obstacle avoidance doesn't even really work on any robot vacuum in the market.
S7 plus owner here, same thing, i ditched the idea of obstacle avoidance since they are not mature enough imo, the self-washing is appealing but since i vacuum daily and mop once a month it's not worth it the extra money
@@xeon2k8 Basically this, I'll just clean up my socks and cables then actually clean the floors. This "ai" is mainly a gimmick and also increases cleaning time. Innovation is cool though.
@@yoda101 I've had an S7 MaxV since August 2022 & I think the obstacle avoidance is quite useful. Granted, it's not perfect & my robot has still managed to get tangled up in a shoe lace once so far, but it's managed to avoid a few cords & shoes that've been left on the ground.
Whether it's worth the premium over the regular S7 is debatable though ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Do proper review
Will try
Nobody has their hands on one yet
You have a a lot of robots to cover and nice content but if you want to elevate your channel to the next level upgrade your cameras (those pixelated zooms are awful) and upgrade your editing skills or hire an editor. Would also advise you to structure your videos a little bit, sometimes it feels like it's all over the place. Besides that, keep it up, good luck in 2023!
Thanks for the advice.
Where Is the new ROBOROCK S8 MAXV ULTRA version???
Roborock is calling it the S8 Pro Ultra. Maybe the MaxV part was confusing.
