It is "Ray-zh" it's how it was intended to be pronounced.
According to the rules of English, you could pronounce Batman as "Bat-men" or you could pronounce Talia as "Ta-leea" but you don't, because that's not how their names are meant to be pronounced. The whole Rahs pronunciation came from people just reading it that way without hearing how it's supposed to be said and, as a fan, it makes me cringe to hear it said that way.

I've always preferred the more conflicted and sympathetic version of Talia we get in this story over the psychotic and vengeful version we get nowadays. I have absolutely no idea how Batman could ever be attracted to the Talia of today.
Joshua Nelson Same. I hate how they changed her. I think the best version of her was the Animated Series Version and the Arkham City version I loved.
I think she is how she is today because of their divorce and custody battle over Damian. Where Batman became a better man and a surprisingly caring father, Talia creates a worldwide crime organization and clone children to compensate for not getting the love and attention from the folks in her life she craves most.
So I guess Batman always has a plan... and Damian wasn’t one of them.
Fun fact: a comic that actually refers to 'Son of the Demon' and gets it somewhat right is 'Kingdom Come'. Ibn Al Xu'ffash, Bruce's son in that continuity, is also based off of the unnamed kid in 'Son of the Demon'; and in the notes of the book Mark Waid actually references the adoption and a bit of the history of the character.
And, nothing, I just thought it was neat.
I mean, Bruce Wayne still owns Daily Planet. It would be easy to explain what Clark is doing at Bruce's wedding.
I wonder if Qayin was an inspiration for David Cain, Cassandra Cain's father, created about 12 years later.
This story just reminds me that Damian would have been a much better pick to be the arkham knight. You already have talia established. Why not bring in Damian instead of randomly plucking Jason out of the blue
Few years late, but damn. Now that you mentioned it, that would've been a whole lot better. The Arkham universe could be a universe where Batman's son was raised in secret for a majority of his life, never having to personally meet his father. By his late teens/young adult years, he learns that Batman is responsible for the death of his mother and grandfather, leading him to form a paramilitary unit and conspire with a cabal of Gotham's criminals in a bid to take over Gotham City and stop the Batman. Twists and turns lead to Batman working alongside prominent characters affiliated with the League of Shadows, resulting in him finding out that the Arkham Knight is Talia's son. After they have a boss fight, Scarecrow betrays the Arkham Knight in a failed maneuver to kill both him and Batman. The two are then forced to work together, which leads to the Arkham Knight admitting that his father was Bruce Wayne, someone who he believed was just a rich playboy billionaire who wasn't worth his time. The ending is the same where Scarecrow unmask Batman and is defeated, but before the Dark Knight can take the villain to prison, Arkham Knight acknowledges him as the man who his mother loved, before running off.

I think that the problem with this idea is Damien's age. Unless Bruce and Talia had sex way before he became Batman, Damien would at best be 12-13 during Arkham Knight. It's a nice idea though.
@@MrBromansa yeah, it would work if Batman and Talia were in their 50s or something but they ain’t lol. I think Jason still works but ideally Rocksteady would’ve established all of the bat family before the last game.
My favorite version of Talia Al Ghul is the one from the Arkham-verse, but I miss this version of Talia, way better than what we have in the comics today.

Clearly we need an episode on the Birds of Prey arc where Ra's falls in love with Dinah and doesn't tell her he's a cult leader until he's about to dump her in a lazarus pool to cure her sterility since he wants her to have his kid.

I heard an interview with Neal Adams where he said the correct pronunciation is "Ray-sh"
It's Ray-sh in literally every piece of Batman media I can think of that's NOT the Nolan films. Nolan got it wrong.

@@g-mandacomicfan350 you got that a bit wrong, he concluded that it is Raysh according to the creator, Rahs is how it's pronounced in Arabic (where the name comes from) at the end of thr day it doesn't really matter, just pronounce it either way, as both can be seen as correct

Fun fact Damian Wayne is mixed race apparently and I just found that out after hearing that ras alghul can be prounounced as “Ras” and damians ethnicity is much more confusing then what I initially thought he’s like
1/6 3 ethnicities (broadly Asian, broadly middle eastern, broadly Arab)
and then the 1/2 is whatever Bruce is (I think ashkenazi Jewish)

I've always said 'Raish' instead of 'Raz' as well. I give the pronunciation about as much gravity as someone reading and then trying to pronounce an Asgardian or Wakandan name. Also Ben's shirt is hot fire. Liquid hot magma.

So it's pre-crisis that Batman is drugged when he & Talia have sex, then in the darker more real post-crisis it's consensual? I assumed it was the other way around. That means I've been wrong calling Damian a rape baby this whole time?! That's the only thing that made his douchiness bearable to me.
No. He was drugged and they were married by Ra's, but they didn't "consummate" the marriage in DC Special Series #15. They finally did have sex in Son of the Demon, which was entirely consensual. Then Grant Morrison wanted to do something with that idea, but didn't want to spend the $5 on a back issue, so he just made up what he didn't remember and changed things around to fit what he wanted.
I was always under the impression that Damien was born coz Talia or Ra's drugged him I'm legit surprised that this was consensual
