Got rid of 2. Bought 9. So it's going well! I also actually counted all of my books. I have 434 novels and text/reference books. This doesn't count my music books or my kids' picture books which are probably another hundred books. Thus, I am a Librarian! Huzzah for me!🎉
i’ve loved watching you undertake project shelf control it’s so inspiring as a mood reader this may be something i need to try because sometimes having so many books to pick from makes me pick no books at all
I've gotten rid of two books and I'm back on track to reading physical books after a break. Thank you for continuing the series!❤ I'm currently enjoying Summer of Salt by Katrina Leno.
I am finally ready to start my own shelf control project as I have moved and unpacked my books. I did as I was unpacking get rid of duplicates where there wasn’t a reason to have a duplicate and I have gotten rid of a few books that I know I will never read.
I am definitely reading through my tbr, that part is going really well! Now I just need to stop buying new ones...like tomorrow in that bookoutlet I found.....
Let’s see, I have read 8 book on my shelf in the last two months, unhauled 5, then bought like 10…make the math make sense! But I’m definitely trying to reduce what I buy this month. I’m also trying to balance books I have just bought and books I’ve had on my shelf. It’s just that the summer sales have been so good so far 😭 Target’s B2G1F on top of the books being discounted has been hard to resist.
My “shelf control” sucks…….. i have a ridiculous number needing to be read and i just bought more books…… because my husband said i could 😂😂😂 and had a very small time limit so I honestly just grabbed 3 thick books- I ended up with : 2 books in one for the first The two other books each have 3 parts in one book 📚 you think i would be set for a bit and my buying problem calmed……but i just had to talk myself out of buying more🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️ i need help❤ Or to build a whole ass library. 📚
My "shelf-control": 1. I got rid of two books. 2. I added four books. 📚 😁 Yes I know "shame" on me! 3. I've read three books from my tbr bookshelf. 🎉😅 Good morning and good night. 💗🫂
I’ve acquired 38 books so far this year, but my physical tbr is still one less book than it was January 1st. So I think I’m doing okay even if my goal for the year was to lower my tbr and acquire less books.
Yes so far I have 14 boxes full of books to go! Still have more to go through proud of myself, but still buying new releases.. but I take the win at 14 boxes ready to go
Oh Leech! Curious to hear what you think. You might convince me to pick it up I did unhaul a book that I had on my Currently Reading for two months. When I picked it back up I only read like 5 pages and just didn't want to continue.
So, I have a basket of books I know I won’t read again, but I can’t stop buying new ones…I guess you could say shelf control is going as well as can be expected?
I just recently got rid of 8 books 3 of which I've read but didn't really like the other 5 sounded good when I bought them but I either lost interest in them or couldn't get into them
I have a real problem with childhood books like Winnie the Pooh, Gail Carson Levine or Artemis Fowl, that I know I’m probably never going to read again, but I’ll have kids some day and I’d hate have to to buy them all a second time.
So, I went with this philosophy and kept books for my kids. Our son loves reading and is a voracious reader of SF/F. Our daughter hates reading 😢. These are the books I kept for them: Tolkien David Eddings (all of the Belgaraid and Mallorian) LeGuin (Earth sea trilogy) Piers Anthony (15 Xanth, all of Incarnations of Immortality, several other series) Frank Herbert (all of Dune) Stanistov Lem (many books) Ray Bradbury (many books) Asimov (all of Foundation, and other) Complete Shakespeare Complete Poe Jorge Luis Borges (most in English and Spanish) You get the idea. You can tell from my books that I am old (61) and my son is 22, daughter is 18. You know what they read? Tolkien (but not my books), Poe (but not my books), some Shakespeare (but not my books), some Bradbury (but not my books). So, best of luck to you.
So I don’t have a shelf project, but I had 6 books in my kindle I was going to read “super quick” back in January and welp. I’ve finished two. I’m proud that I have been able to get those two finished because it has been me making the conscious decision to take some time to myself to relax in the midst of total chaos. So it’s not the progress I had hoped to have, but it’s welcomed progress nonetheless. Piranese here I come. 😊
Can you do a similar series for board games? That's what I thought this was about - when I initially saw "Shelf Control" - because I think there is a content creator that does something similar.
So many board game content creators do this, especially recently. I have watched culling videos from: BoardGameCo Board Game Ramblings Board Game Buzzz Foster the Meeple Tabletop Tokki Just off the top of my head. I am sure I will remember others. They are all among my favorite bg content creators, so they are fun to listen to. Had to reupload this one due to a serious subtitle issue. Thanks to the person who caught it!!
The name "shelf-control" is honestly genius.
I’ve never had shelf control! So I just embrace the chaos!😂😂😂

Yep, just unhauled like 15 of them.
I need to do this. The problem is, I work at a Library so i'm constantly taking home new books. OOPS.
I FEEL THIS! I do a "Desk Check" where I go over all the books on my desk. So far, 3 down today!
Every month I go through everything I’ve read…what I don’t wanna read again I give to my local charity shop, as someone else may get joy out of them!
I've gotten rid of two books and I'm back on track to reading physical books after a break. Thank you for continuing the series!❤ I'm currently enjoying Summer of Salt by Katrina Leno.
More unhaul inspo! Love your shorts 💕

Cleared a bunch from my shelves. Did buy a few more though 😅 at least most were to finish a series I am reading.
Let’s see, I have read 8 book on my shelf in the last two months, unhauled 5, then bought like 10…make the math make sense!

Love this. I have adhd so I really want u to go through the whole shelf at once and make piles, but I will be patient for u

I ended up with :
2 books in one for the first
The two other books each have 3 parts in one
book 📚 you think i would be set for a bit and my buying problem calmed……but i just had to talk myself out of buying more🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️ i need help❤
Or to build a whole ass library. 📚
You must book shop the way I do 😂
A lot of the time I tend to just grab whatever catches my eye without knowing what it's about lol.
My "shelf-control":
1. I got rid of two books.
2. I added four books. 📚 😁 Yes I know "shame" on me!
3. I've read three books from my tbr bookshelf. 🎉😅
Good morning and good night. 💗🫂
I unhauled 12 books a couple of weeks ago. 😇
I've bougth 29 books this week, and it's only thursday. The sale goes on until sunday evening, so...
Taking you as an inspiration I donated 6 books
With Leach, there’s going to be a lot of scientific and medical stuff as well as some gore and body horror
I’ve acquired 38 books so far this year, but my physical tbr is still one less book than it was January 1st. So I think I’m doing okay even if my goal for the year was to lower my tbr and acquire less books.
My room drowning in books, and me who keeps making more lists. Oh it’s finee😂😂😂😂
Yes so far I have 14 boxes full of books to go! Still have more to go through proud of myself, but still buying new releases.. but I take the win at 14 boxes ready to go
I genuinely love this ❤
Oh Leech! Curious to hear what you think. You might convince me to pick it up

Uhh.... Does adding more books to my overflowing IKEA bookshelf count? 😅 Personally I can't bare to part with any of my books
I end up reading all the books I want to keep 😅😔 I need to start on the ones I'm sure I'm not keeping lol.
So, I have a basket of books I know I won’t read again, but I can’t stop buying new ones…I guess you could say shelf control is going as well as can be expected?
I don’t know if I could get myself to get rid of any of my books even if I don’t like them
I have managed to read a book... and add a few. But I read the few I added!
Have I managed to get rid of any books? 😂😂😂😂😂 Omgosh no lolololol
I just recently got rid of 8 books 3 of which I've read but didn't really like the other 5 sounded good when I bought them but I either lost interest in them or couldn't get into them
I helped my parents with their selfcontrol, a lot of books went but much more stayed

Not good. Not getting rid of any books. Getting more books each week. Prereading a lot, no casual reading.
So I don’t have a shelf project, but I had 6 books in my kindle I was going to read “super quick” back in January and welp.

No I keep adding more

It doesn’t count if I bought the next one in a series that I already had the start of, right?
Nope 😅
I mostly got rid of my childrens books and donated them (Honestly I am still reading the original Hunger Games book and I got it last year 🥲)
