Texas Aggie Band halftime drill 50 years ago. The Band, in block formation, countermarches on the north endzone goal line and marches toward the south end of Kyle Field to the music of "National Emblem March" by Edwin Eugene Bagley. The Band then forms the signature Block "T" to the "Aggie War Hymn" in the drill finale, breaks formation and runs off the field ending the drill.
Members of the Aggie Band held Air Force, Army, Navy and Marine Corp contracts, as junior and senior cadets. Enrollment in ROTC for Aggie Band underclassmen was mandatory.
Prior to 1973, American men were subject to conscription in the Army.
U.S. Forces were in action in Southeast Asia.
