Love your videos. I grew up on Galveston island in the salt marshes there, we're moving to Raleigh this summer and I've been watching your channel to learn the lay of the land, and how y'all fish up there :) Thanks for the great content man.
Love Bob's Dogs!! We were there two years and Bob's is a must if your in the island. Just subscribed today to your channel, learning all I can about surf fishing. Second ever trip was at Gulf Shores, AL last week. First was Oak Island in 2019, I'm hooked on surf fishing.
Hey I have been watching you for a while now and I love your videos and I think I seen you at Publix. I work there so I wasn’t allowed to go up and ask if it was you.
@@SandsintheSurf Question, does using Pompano rigs, with float pinned at the hook, reduce catching Sting Rays? Just curious, we were down in May, no Sting Rays but lots of Bonnet Heads, some Whiting, Croaker and a few Spots.
@@BN-xi6oh good question. Seems to make sense because the bait would be up off the bottom. I’ve heard that floats help keep the crabs off so seems similar
Carolina Beach faces east so an east wind would produce bigger waves and a west wind would flatten it out. However, an east wind pushes the bait up to the surf so an east wind is good in moderation ;)
First I went to Dutchman’s. They had some rakes but I really only wanted a hand held scope. So I asked online and a few people mentioned this one tarheeltackleboxinc.godaddysites.com/sand-flea-e-z-scoop
We always go to Little Bitt's. Old Bridge Dinner is great too.
Both those places are on my list. I’ve never had a burger at little bits and I hear they are amazing

Those dogs are the best!
I appreciate your videos. I only visited OKI a few times. I love when you show a few hidden gems of places to see n eat! Keep it up!
Nice fishing video subbed!
It’s been tuff with all the storms, I’ll have to find you on the next time you go out as I am now living full time on oak island
Since filming that video, the wind has only kicked up more. Hopefully it’ll lay down a bit tomorrow

Thanks. I do shop there sometimes.
Thought for sure you would have been up at Big Rock.
I can catch a marlin in the surf ;)
@@SandsintheSurf I would like to be there when you attempt such a feat. Heck I'll buy you all the beer you can drink if you do.
I'd like to see a stingray catch and cook.... Bob's Dogs is good eats. I do like the videos where you fish and then show a local eatery.
Lol ok next time I catch a decent ray, I’ll cook him up. Just don’t be expecting to much ;)

never been so early haha
I was wondering if fishing from the surf at Carolina beach, what would be the ideal wind direction?

Where did you like the sand flea can?

@@SandsintheSurf i agree with you, like how compact the scoop is. Thanks, going to add one to my fishing stuff!
