I am at present using size 6 Shobu ( Tetron based) TC Bishamonten Gi for regular training and is high waist .Which Hirota gi will be best fitting for regular training especially for comfortable kicking.
Thank you for your interest. For everyday day training, I personally like Pinack Kumite a lot. It is a pretty light material and very comfortable to wear. I couldn't find the information on the material of the dougi you are currently wearing. So I don't know if you prefer a thicker or thinner material... Which Karate gi you like is a matter of personal taste. Also Hirota´s MH-11 could be a good choice (if the high waist is not a "must" for you). Whichever model it is, without the right fit it won't be comfortable to wear. If it is too tight, there won't be ease of movement for kicks etc. We have made a video on the topic "Measurements" in case you want to know more: ua-cam.com/video/bJxQS197p5w/v-deo.html
is this the Hirota Pinack? because i ordered the Hirota pinack Kumite ready made from Kuroobiya but seeing this i think i should've gotten the slim version since the high waste looks more comfortable and it looks like it fits much better. is that suit to big for you? or is that just how it fits?
@@AkitasDojoI appreciate the reply. But now I'm starting to wish I went with the slim fit since it looks like it fits you a lot better. And the high waste sounds nice. Maybe I can buy the slim fit in the future but from what I've heard I shouldn't be too disappointed even if the slim fit might have been a better choice.
You are very welcome. And I also think you shouldn´t be too disappointed as it is also nice to move in a dōgi that is a bit wider. For myself, I equally like both cuts, they just feel different.
@@colegeary502yo, a couple months ago I bought my hirota pinack kumite standard cut and I love it but I will admit it is a bit too baggy for my expectations. But it is still a great Gi as I’ve used it ever since I bought it
@@slashxxrryeah. It's too short on me. And they won't take it back sadly. Gave it to my sister. Im gonna get the slim cut instead and make sure I get the right size
Do u recommend high waist for Takumi? A normal waist works fine on my Tokaido NST - it's a very soft and kumite dogi - while I do not prefer the slim cut but I have experienced slipping trousers particularly on my kata dogi. So I'm considering high waist. My concern is would high waist be too hot or to tight (like "holding" your ribs) when wearing? Especially for Takumi, I heard it's very stiff. Could you please give me some advice? Thanks!
Hi and thank you for your interest. Most of all, it is a matter of personal taste which one you prefer, normal or high waisted trousers. If you would order Takumi with high waist, you would be asked how much your hip circumference measures. This measurement would be taken into account when the trousers are being made. In any case, the trousers wouldn´t be very tight - you could also still adjust them with the strings. It is true that Takumi has a pretty firm material, it is woven that way for the “snap”. Nevertheless, it should not be uncomfortable to wear - with or without high waist. You are also mentioning the heat… I don´t think the high waist makes much difference. But I personally would prefer a thinner dōgi for high temperatures…

Hi and thank you for your interest. I think those two Karate gi that I am wearing in the video both fit me well, I like to train in both of them :)
