So there is actually a lot of meaning to both the song and video in this one. Bring Me The Horizon are a British band from Sheffield- which is very near to where Yungblud grew up in Doncaster- both are in the North of England, sort of post industrial towns not rich and fancy. Oli was the guy in the other robot- he's the singer in Bring Me The Horizon. BMTH made a series of EPs and this song comes from their sort of protest themed EP. It's not so much specifically about the government but about general political debate and misinformation- the idea that people are being discouraged to think, they're being polarised- like the two robots. It's also about systematic issues like racism, corruption etc. It says 'your monsters are people'. So the robots are these big intimidating monsters- each side has one and all they do is fight. But the song is about realising these big undefeatable monsters and systematic issues are at their heart just people. So at the end the two opposing robots sort of realise actually we're more similar than we think, and it's the theme more of you defeat more monsters with cooperation and love than just fighting each other. -Kissing is also a very Yungblud thing, he kind of makes a point of it as an act of defiance and love in a world of division so that may have played a part. (At least that's my take from it all and what they've said about it & they have a bts video about the making of the video on Bring Me The Horizon's channel too.) I think the monster film aesthetic might be about it being sort of a fiction and we make things out to be something 'other' and 'undefeatable' when it's really just people, and people can change with effort. It's actually a really cool colab here. Yungblud was a big BMTH fan as a kid, he said he used to listen to the music at bus stops after being beaten up because he'd worn a skirt and make up or something and it really helped him. BMTH were looking to work with people who embodied a socially and politically active sort of stance and reached out to Yungblud. He said yes about 30 seconds in, went straight to the studio, and they finished the song in a few hours. He and Oli have become good friends since it seems. This song also won 'hottest record of the year' on bbc radio 1. I don't think anyone was quite expecting this song.
“Doomed” live at Royal Albert Hall by BMTH shows range of the band. They play with a full orchestra. In fact, they have released songs in about every kind of musical genre from metal core/death core to pop/electronic. Every album sounds completely different IMO. A couple others bands for you to react to would be I Prevail “Hurricane” and 30 Seconds to Mars “ The Kill” or “Closer to the Edge”. Good stuff!
I see quite a lot of symbolism in the music video. Like these two robots are symbolising the robotic manner we act in controlled by the government. And the kiss at the end is like rebellion.
Teardrops by bring me the horizon is such a good song!! It’s a band btw and they play in the music video as well and it’s about todays problems like depression and things.. YOU’LL LIKE IT!!
Please react to same band, BMTH'S official videos, "Can You Feel My Heart" and "Throne" those are their most watched videos on UA-cam, I believe, and they are older songs. The first one, "CYFMH" is once again charting high on the UA-cam hard rock video charts and it was originally released in 2013! Somehow the hit song started trending on TikTok and the fact that it's a great song has kept it there, as well as introducing them to new fans. It's classic BMTH, the sound of just one of their completely unique "eras" and must listen/watch to understand this iconic and legendary band, that incredibly started as 15-17 yr old kids performing very heavy Deathcore and Metal becoming famous MySpace Scene era band then Warped Tour favorites. You just have to see their evolution and genre-defying career, and go "down that rabbit hole" PLEASE? (Btw, I am an "old gal" but newish fan myself. Found BMTH thru Yungblud, who I found thru MGK, who I discovered thru Yelawolf because he's from Alabama like me! Now, THAT is a deep multi-tunnel hole, and I've never enjoyed my retirement more✌🏼🤩🎶🤘🏼 But, I digress n rambled. Sorry. Bring Me The Horizin Band consists of: Oliver Sykes (called Oli) - Frontman, lead singer/vocalist, main lyric writer, video director and producer Jordan Fish - Keyboardist, electronics, instrumentals, background vocals, writer and producer Matt Kean (called Vegan) - Bass Guitarist Mat Nicholls - Drummer Lee Malia - Lead Guitar Please continue with BMTH reactions? Thanks y'all 🤘🏼
The video does have a connection with the message of the song! The robots are being controlled by Oliver and YUNGBLUD and are forced to fight and do 'negative' things, but at the end the robots decide that they don't want to be controlled and end up kissing which could be a metaphor for the government, etc. you were talking about.
Love your positivity and how you seem to genuinely enjoy every song! :) A band you might not yet know that I could recommend you to react to: Trash Boat with their newly released „He‘s So Good“ or „Silence is Golden“ (although all of their songs are thoroughly enjoyable in my opinion^^)
Kiss and make up is absolutely what I get from this. How much hate in this world just needs it. And omg Bring Me the Horizon, gdamn. You will soooo enjoy the video of "Follow You", I think that is a great introduction to them. Hugs from Sweden as always.
Please react to Julie and The Phantoms Bright, edge of great, stand tall, wake up, perfect harmony. They’re all great choices and i recommend reacting to all of them. You will not be disappointed!!
Ever hear of K-Pop? Lol If not, or even if you have, check out Stray Kids. You can pretty much just pick any play. Yes it's in Korean, but they have subtitles as well as several English speakers in the group so they incorporate as much of it as they can. Two Australians as well lol. That said, they have great meanings to their songs, great rap lines, and they can seriously dance. They are young, but also very talented and incredibly diverse when it comes to genres. I would like to add that they are also a driving force in South Korea regarding the restrictions of their people and freedoms in general. Anywhozle, I would love to see your take on them. Or on kpop in general.
🔥 reaction! Can you react to Ez Mil, an up and coming independent artist? He has a couple of videos that give a good indication of how talented he is. Panalo Live on the Wish Bus, it has almost 59 million views, and a freestyle on Power 106 in LA where he raps and sings (none of that auto tune stuff either).
React to more CHris Brown lease. His older music is the best and you will love it. Start of with 'Fine China'. It's a great song heavily inspired by Michael Jackson
