Thanks I bought it today just because of its vibration alarm feature, I had a Xiaomi MI BAND 3 smartwatch/Fitness watch for about couple of months and it got faulty, so this I invested in Timex Expedition Shock, OMG it is big and bulky and it seems build for tough and I love it.
Have had this watch for several years after specifically looking for one with a vibration alarm. For the price point, it really is a superb watch. The vibration alarm is fantastic, it does multiple time zones (which I actually use frequently), and everything else you mentioned. I agree that the original band was pretty weak; mine didn't not last 3 years for sure.
Thats not a bad watch at all. My ex wife when I was in the army got me that Tactix Bravo from garmin. Love the watch but the battery dies fairly fast. I don't know how to use half the shit with it. It has a jumpmaster mode for haho and halo jumps, can guide you to your LZ works off of american and glonass sats. It has a night vision mode. I moved to the shit hole that is colorado, someone broke into my car stole it. I bought a used one from ebay and it was still like 250 bucks. That Timex would be perfect for a cheap alternative daily use watch.
I owned a Casio watch before this one. Already I can see many things that are better with this one. The vibration alarm, the Indiglo lighting (which is genius for lighting the digits rather than the entire face) and the actual size of the digits make the watch a keeper for me. However I feel you so much when you say about the offset holes.
I just bought the watch today at a goodwill for $14 (an awesome find!) I haven’t set the vibration alarms yet but I also like the occasion reminders and the night mode is a great feature as well . Of course I bought mine used and it looks well used, but so far so good . I noticed it also has a hydration reminder alarm as well . Thanks for the cool video!
Great review, and a very creative idea about the extra band section with offset holes. This watch is brilliant. If I only had one watch, I could live with that, if it was this watch. Impressive durability too, if your friend uses it while punching the heavy bag too. Yeah, it's probably not as tough as a G-Shock, but then, neither am I...
It does, I have mine set up for "Dual". And yes, you can set it to vibrate only, or tone only. Here are some instructions on it. They aren't well written, but it is pretty obvious when you have the watch in front of you... www.wikihow.com/Enable-Vibration-Mode-for-Alarms-on-a-Timex-Expedition-W%E2%80%90214-Wristwatch
Yea, but you need to use the timer not the alarm. Set the timer to "Repeat at end" instead of "Stop at end." When done correctly there'll be a tiny double headed arrow next to the hourglass icon
Thanks for the review. Nice, concise and to the point If anything, perhaps next time please show a little bit more close-ups / wrist shots of the watch, as those help giving an idea how the watch would look on one's wrist
Hey Ali, thanks for watching and the kind words! I know what you mean with respect to trying to get a feel for how it looks on someone. Good news though, I have pretty much worn this watch in every one of my videos. :) And I usually do closeups of the products, and it ends up in the shot then as well. Hope this helps!
Does the count down timer automatically reset to your set number when it hits zero? For example, if you're taking 90 second rest breaks between sets, does the timer automatically reset to 90 seconds after you stop the alarm? Thanks
I ordered one and it should be cool to have a vibrating watch as then I can put my ear plugs in to block out the noise outside my apartment and get a night's sleep and still know when it's time to get up..
Hi, I have a Casio 350 vibration. Does the Timex have a 1 button push to start the countdown timer without having to go through the menus? On the Casio the lower right button will automatically start the countdown timer for the time I've preset. So, when at the gym and i finish a set, I can just quickly press the button.
I noticed that the front of the watch has letters indicating cardinal directions. So, does the watch has a functioning compass? If so, how well does it work?
Has yours ever frizzed out? I bought one and within a few weeks it started vibrating nonstop and I look down and all the digits were 8’s. I had to reset it by holding down the four corner buttons. When it was reset everything was back to default settings. It’s done this about seven times. Has yours ever done this? Or do you know a fix for it?
Do any of you have a tip where I can buy this Timex T49851? This is the reason of my question: I own a 3D laser scanning company. For my work I need a watch with a vibration alarm because I have to wear hearing protection during work (industrial plant environment). Furthermore the watch must have a timer function that can be easily set to dufferent durations (count down per scan without standing in "the picture"). And also no nonsen stuff on the display but only large and easy to read numbers. It just has to be very functional. Therefore I really would like to buy a Timex T49851. There are only a very few other types out there, but they all have one or more disadvantages. in comparison with this Timex. Unfortunately I can't find it anywhere anymore. It looks like it's not available anymore. Do any of you have a tip where I can buy it? Preferably but not necessarily somewhere in the EU. Thanks in advance.
Could it be you do not have the "Vibe" version? You may have the "Shock" version which does not have vibration. You can tell the difference by looking at the face. The mode indicator (circle) is on the left for Vibe and on the right for Shock. Both watches are the same shock ability AFAIK.
I love this watch but... the wrist band wears out long before the watch does. I have 2 and both still on original battery after more than 2 years. Please put a better watch strap on it, preferably an easier band to be able to change easily when a person has close up eye problems. Will never stop using this watch!
I've always bought the men's Timex Expedition but my local store only had the women's and I still haven't got the alarm set or vibrate. I had no problem setting multiple alarms to ring & vibrate on men's watch but no luck with women's version.
Seems perfect except for the ugly fake compass around the outside. Wish they would just make it plain as it's very utilitarian aside from that, which is what I like.
I'm with you Tyler. They would have done a much better job if they had left off that useless compass. But, from a functional standpoint, I do like the rest of it.
The occasion reminder is nice. Getting into the settings can be tricky but once there it flows pretty well. Almost reminds me of a databank scheduler.

Awesome! It is such a hard watch to beat.

I'm with you Keith, hands down one of my favorite watches.
I’ll add that alarms can also be set to “weekdays”, which is amazing if you use it as a M-F work alarm.
My son wears it and has his set for 7am M-F for school. :)

It is hard to find "perfect" at that price point :)
Can you disable the vibration ?
Got this watch today! Thanks, Ivan! It's a great one for the money!
Awesome man! I'm glad you like it. Lots of value at the price point.

Nice, that sounds like a score Darrell!
I Got The Casio Vibration Alarm i had it for about one year and the vibration work really well
Thanks for the review. Beautiful landscape.
No problem, thanks for watching!
that 2nd band idea is really good, id like to see that too
Agreed, it would make that watch just a little bit sweeter. :)

I'm with you man, probably the best thing going, especially at that price point.
Nice video man. Great review, went out and picked up one of these watches. Super durable watch for the price point. Thank you 😎👍
Awesome man, glad you like it. Still one of my favorite watches.
You said it does the audible alarm after about ten seconds. Is there a way to keep that from happening?
It does, I have mine set up for "Dual". And yes, you can set it to vibrate only, or tone only. Here are some instructions on it. They aren't well written, but it is pretty obvious when you have the watch in front of you... www.wikihow.com/Enable-Vibration-Mode-for-Alarms-on-a-Timex-Expedition-W%E2%80%90214-Wristwatch
Nice review. Can you set a repeating alarm, for instance every x minutes to remind you to hydrate when hiking in a desert climate?
Not in the way that you mention. The workaround I have found, is to simply hit reset and then start, to start that same timer again.
Yea, but you need to use the timer not the alarm. Set the timer to "Repeat at end" instead of "Stop at end." When done correctly there'll be a tiny double headed arrow next to the hourglass icon
awesome view and camera bro !!
Thanks Charley!
hahahaha "phrasing" great vid man, was thinking about buying this and you convinced me.
They are great watches for the money, love the alarm...
Thanks for the review. Nice, concise and to the point

Hahahaha! Good point. That'll definitely do :D Cheers mate

Yes, you can set it to STOP when the timer is up, or to REPEAT when the timer is up, starting itself again.
Kit Badger One of my favorite features.
I ordered one and it should be cool to have a vibrating watch as then I can put my ear plugs in to block out the noise outside my apartment and get a night's sleep and still know when it's time to get up..
They’re great watches.
Nice video fella, do you still use this watch and if so how easy is it to read in bright daylight? Thanks take care.
I've been wearing a different watch recently for the purposes of reviewing it. It was plenty easy to read in sunlight though.
Kit Badger thanks fella
@@davemcbeardface8976 no problem.
You get a like just for the scenic background
Made in the philippines. TIMEX = quality and affordable watch.
Happen to know of a watch with vibration and solar?
Hi, I have a Casio 350 vibration. Does the Timex have a 1 button push to start the countdown timer without having to go through the menus? On the Casio the lower right button will automatically start the countdown timer for the time I've preset. So, when at the gym and i finish a set, I can just quickly press the button.
You have to go through menus I believe.
I would love a GD350 with solar.
I noticed that the front of the watch has letters indicating cardinal directions. So, does the watch has a functioning compass? If so, how well does it work?
Nope, just for looks.
May I know the mm of the band lug? I want to change my straps
Mine never vibrated ... I didn't know it could. How do you turn that on?
Dude is that The Ataris playing? Nice.
Yes! :)
No, you may want to return that.
Just picked this up but can't seem to get it to vibrant when the timer is up . Just beep .
Would you say a Casio G-Shock is way better than this for the extra money? I want something durable. Thanks!
No.
Can you disable the vibration feature and set an alarm which beeps only ??
Yes or do a combo
How to turn off alarms?
I guess cell phones have now become the modern day pocket watch--you need to pull it out of your pocket to check the time.
Haha, this is true. I still find a lot of value in wearing this watch. I love the vibration alarm.
How long does the strap last?
That band lasted me around 3 years or so.
Do any of you have a tip where I can buy this Timex T49851?
This is the reason of my question:

Thanks in advance.
They dont make this one anymore
I bought one and I can't get it to ring or vibrate. What am I doing wrong
That is weird. Have you cycled through the settings? Because you can turn both of them off if memory serves.
Could it be you do not have the "Vibe" version? You may have the "Shock" version which does not have vibration. You can tell the difference by looking at the face. The mode indicator (circle) is on the left for Vibe and on the right for Shock. Both watches are the same shock ability AFAIK.

I have since changed the watch band: kitbadger.com/artstyle-watch-band-follow-up/ Thanks for watching!
How do you get it to vibrate or ring
I've always bought the men's Timex Expedition but my local store only had the women's and I still haven't got the alarm set or vibrate. I had no problem setting multiple alarms to ring & vibrate on men's watch but no luck with women's version.
That is weird...
I finally got my alarms to ring and voice announce, luv it.
Yeah.. went to go buy one post pandemic and they're more than twice that price now!!
really?
isn't the vibration feature a battery drain tho
You would think, but mine has been going strong since I have gotten it and have yet to change the battery out...
Shame about the acrylic.
3 months after i changed the battery the alarm doesn't beep anymore and the vibration got weaker. I don't know why. Anyone have the same problem?
That is weird, have you reached out to them?
$35?
It's $70 now.
lol phrasing.
Glad someone gets it. :)
If you don’t watch Archer you should start.
I love Archer, in part because I have tinnitus too, haha.
Just sand it down, I think it's removable with a bit of pressure then glue it back in place.
Probably not a bad way to go, haha.
Im going to have a laugh here and say point the watch north and it will show where east west and south is. 🤣
Ffs why don't you show the actual watch?!
#because
