Look For Neutron Stars: The New Formula For Successful Metal Detecting

  • Welcome back to the Metal Detecting NYC channel. Iron is the metal that throws off Metal Detectors and blows up stars. In this video learn about iron and the universe. The "star poisoning" that happens result in supernovas where heavier elements are made. This is especially true in Neutron star explosions! Gold is formed in these exotic explosions. It is hypothesized that fusion in stars never reach the heat required to form heavier elements (and go boom when iron is formed). But supernovas and Neutron Star collisions that happen in our universe produce the exotic metals we love to find! As metal detectorists, we look for the remnants of neutron stars! Hi, my name is Merrill Kazanjian. New York City is an amazing place to go metal detecting. We have lots of parks, colonial history and great beaches for beach detecting. Fantastic video Merrill - you REALLY crack me up - the science lesson is typical for a true teacher in the NY Education system (Yes, I have personal experience with that - I'm from Long Beach). ;) I'm finally going to dive into the XP Deus 2 arena, and looking to learn as much as I can. As a geek myself, I'm thinking that I actually want the complexity and capabilities which it offers. Not to mention, as I am an auditory learner, the sound capabilities (square wave) are what attracts me the most to it. Congrats on becoming their ambassador (I wanted to tell you that last week at the hunt, but had a personal conflict an couldn't make it). Anyway, I'm gonna binge your XP playlist looking for tips and truly appreciate all the time you've put into these videos. Cheers, and keep them coming.

    Great nerdy video man. Iron is that double edged (rusty) sword. Finding a lot of iron means you're on the hot spot, but it also means there's masking galore. And I agree with the work out aspect - walking and crouching and digging; when I get skunked on a hunt I still comfort myself I wasn't sitting on my butt munching chips watching TV.

    This is the study I am working on. Maxwell's equations (along with many others) show how these induced eddy currents produce a magnetic field opposite to the invading magnetic fields (these atoms do not like to move and they fight back).
    I will explain how the receiver coil can sense the metal and determine its conductivity and ferromagnetic properties. It doesn't see the magnetic field from the treasure directly (it's not like radar or sonar), it senses how the treasure's magnetic field compresses the transmit field (if the treasure is non-ferrous). If the target is ferrous the metal wants to become magnetized and stretch the transmitted magnetic field.
    The receive coil sees this collapsed and stretched pattern and passes the results to the processing section of the metal detector. It uses this information. the user's settings, and the manufacturer's algorithms to beep, blip, and produce an image on the screen.
    Unfortunately, this isn't all that cut and dry, iron is very ferrous and is a poor conductor, but rust behaves differently.
    Try this experiment: Place a shiny nail over a coin and a rusty nail over a similar coin. See how your detector might be able to see the coin with the rusty nail but fight hard to see it with the clean nail.

    Hey Merrill, big fan and silent student of yours. I have a question, I have a hard time detecting where I am with my sensitivity (Vanquish 440) high, because the machine is so chatty that I cant focus or find the good stuff, but I feel like this is causing me to lose signals at depth. I know you have videos skirting this topic, but do you think you could make a purpose made video addressing this, or if you do pointing me towards it? Thank you so much for everything you do, I've learned tremendous amounts from you.

    • @MetalDetectingNYC
      @MetalDetectingNYC  3 місяці тому +1

      Hi Shane. My friend Indiana Tones took over what I was doing with rating detectors and speaking on them. I am now an ambassador for XP and I cant give specific advice for other detectors. I would say generally speaking, you can go deep without maximum sensitivity. A lot of the instability can be caused by EMI so consider if there are power lines around or even in the ground.

    Remember Merril… that oval style coil doesnt have the high frequency like the other 11” coil… that large oval one ur using goes up to only like 25-30khz, where the perfectly round 11in coil goes up to like 45khz frequency or something, and i believe gold is found better at higher frequencies, i dunno lol. Ur welcome Deus Rep 😂. If u ever come to their East Coast of FL, maybe ill see u one day, i use the Deus 2 also, with the 11” coil, good videos as always. Remember, gold rings up as iron signals when the target is deeper than ~10inches , so for that reason , I’ll probably just do no discrimination sometime, or dig those iron meh sounding targets…trust me, burrow a gold ring like 13-16inches deep and see the ferrous iron target ID it gives u. Its crazy no one ever talks about this shit … At least it did it with the Equinox, so I assume it does it with the Deus 2…ill test it out one day on the beach 🏖️ to make sure, but im sure Gold probably rings up as an iron target when its buried deep on the Deus 2 too

      On the beach there is no way to put every grain of sand back in place. Please trust that although the sand is altered there are no craters that people would step in to. I make sure that nobody gets hurt.

      Thank you Chuck. But yes, even though the sand is altered there are no craters left. Please trust that.

    Evolution has been debunked for over 2,000 years LOL. the " philosophers before Christ came to earth taught evolution and real science back then proved them wrong, just like real science today does.
    It's called " science falsely so called. " 😂

      Danno I always appreciate your support. I try to keep politics and religion out of things and make videos as fun as possible. Even it its a viewpoint that you disagree with, I challenge you to consider the statement, "I Disapprove of What You Say, But I Will Defend to the Death Your Right to Say It"
