  • Got a question? Send it in here! - bit.ly/request-lesson So in this lesson, you will learn the A7 arpeggio in one area of the neck, using all 6 strings. It's a very powerful but also quite simple concept. I encourage you to learn these chord tone arpeggios all over the neck.
    It really is the secret of how to play melodically!

    Robert, the more I watch your lessons, the more I appreciate your deep understanding of how to make music sound great. I loved the mix of the the A7 arpeggio with other notes. Great lesson for a Coronavirus Sunday (4/5/2020)! I encourage others to pay a membership to your web site or buy your lessons. I just recently joined and am enjoying the variety of useful information put into enjoyable music lessons. And I cannot thank you enough for the very learned, free You Tube postings! Thanks!

    Excellent stuff, Robert.
    Many thanks.
    I love the bluesy phrases you get out of the arpeggio - not every UA-cam 'teacher' can do this.

    mr. renman, thank you so much..i have been playing the guitar for over 20 years and ive always wondered why my solos really werent making any sense..i just couldnt grasp the concept of the arpagios and where they were on the fret board. ive always been really good at picking chords and stuff like that, but i never tried to do any kind of lead until a few years ago. anyways ill stop rambling lol thanks again and i look forward to learning more from you in the future

    thanks for your great teaching, Robert. I too am Robert (Robb). I play '70s rock and blues. My needs are simple. I just want to move my fingers in the right place around minor pentatonic leads, with chords and come outside when necessary. To learn all the modes is beyond me.

    Robert also known as Robben Ford :-). It’s amazing how much colour can be added by augmenting the basic minor pentatonic scale (In this case adding in the major 3rd). Great lesson!

    Otroligt bra videos du har här! Har spelat sanslöst mycket av sånt här på gehör, men det blir en helt annan sak när man faktiskt får en lektion i det, med grundkunskaper osv. Fortsätt så!

    Robert, thanks for the lessons,your the best teacher on youtube. I play an Ibanez AS93 which I just bought, I'm using 11 gauge strings because my hands are big, I'm used to playing 12s on my Taylor GS8, which gauge of stings are best for 335 type guitars, BTW the Ibanez AS93 is the best 335 guitar I've ever played,under £500, if anyone out there is thinking about buying one, GO for it.

      @Dolphinstreets  9 років тому

      ***** Thanks, glad you like my work. There is no best gauge - it's all a matter of preference. I prefer 10-46 myself.

  • @daytimetravel
    @daytimetravel 9 років тому

    Hey Robert, great video! When you start the sequence at 6:18 and again @ 6:30 are you leaning on the 6th quite a bit? I really like that sound and how it fits in the arpeggio. Can you talk sometime about how you use those 6ths and 9ths to add color to these arps? Like maybe when it works and when to avoid. I would also love to hear how you were able to build so much speed and accuracy into your playing. I know you'll say practice practice practice, but WHAT to practice. I'm sure that I am like many players who practice with a metronome to a certain speed but just cant "break" through. Thanks man, I really appreciate your videos!

    Is that a Epi 339 and is it the ultra. If so, have you experimented with the usb and the guitar rig software......looking forward to you honest opinion of the epi compared to the Gibson....Thanks, LOVE YOUR VIDS.

    • @Dolphinstreets
      @Dolphinstreets  9 років тому +1

      Epi 339. It's not bad for the money, but it does not sound as good as a Gibson 339 (which of course costs much, much more). Thanks!

    Great lesson. One question: When you do the run at :57, are you only using the notes from the A7, or are there any outside notes in there?

    Hi Robert , Just an easy question i guess. If i drag that arrpegio over the neck to a different root note i would have the arrpegio of the 7 chord of that root note? for example if i play the same shape but starting on the A note in the 6 string i would have the arpeggio of A7? Thanks Much
