the fact that theres just a normal guy called "Ben" while allmost every one has a shit ton of super powers abilitys and haxes with with ridculous weaponry plus the fact that most of his backstory is plain unknown just makes it better
no one knows how he got there, no one questions it, hes just there going along and vibin

26:40 - Man, that comment hit home. I honestly don't remember ANY details about the RP except for my friends and how we had the longest thread in ROBLOX. But the "cursed to never find food" was definitely a subconscious kid-brain insert. At the time between 2008-2010 I'd been dealing with homelessness and in and out of different houses. I remember that I was always hungry. That's actually really sad to see that I'd stated that so many times. Thanks for the work in uploading this, man. It's so wild to think about. ROBLOX was definitely my escape for a good portion of my youth.

As someone who personally worked alongside roblox support for quite a while and used to have a huge obsession in cataloging obscure roblox history, some of which I even took part in, when I was younger, I applaud discoveries like this. Your videos seriously take me back to one of my childhood games. Especially since 2009 was righr in my era. Great video as always!

This reminded me of an RP I made in zoom, well sort of. It was 2 years ago, I was failing grade 4-5 because I used to sucked back then, and then a couple of kids came and tossed around insults at me in a channel. I got tired of those insults and begin joking around pretending to be a hacker, posting random lines of code that looked like Lua code but really was just nonsense, I got a role as a Hacker and a Manipulator, they also had cat PFPs at the time so I had an idea... And so it begins.
It was September 2021, We made an RP called, "Cat City", where our enemies were the DOGEs, or as of right now, Dog Empire. I was the Hacker and the Manipulator, A guy named Hang was the King of the CATs (very important info ong), a guy named landen was a traitor, a guy named thai meng was a security chief, and a guy named Aven was a traitor aswell. We all RPed, and we had our fair share of dramas, the first one taking place a day because, well, I think it was because I had a problem with Landen and his role later on got switched to the Bird King, making the Bird Republic. I met a guy named, "Ly" in a channel Aven (the traitor) invited me in to piss me off, I was a big undertale fan back then so I creeped Ly, and I invited him onto the RP, well it was an Animation Studio for Pivot animator and Sticknodes but he was later invited to a Revamp RP called, "Cat Cyber City", by me. Basically, the first RP was deleted because of the drama, and it was really inactive, so I decided to take over the RP and create what may be my finest work yet. I trained ly to be a special operations soldier in the RP, we had infiltration work and stuff. God, I miss the old days. He created an Axolotl RP and I suggested it to be connected to the Cat RP, and so it was. The story later on changed from, "Cat city", "Cat cyber city", "Axolotl RP", to "LOST", which is the name of the RP series still used today. I made several versions of LOST, the pre-LOSt (Cat cyber city), LOST 1.0 (Undertale LOST basically), LOST 2.0 (Undertale LOST but with the Alternate universes), LOST 3.0 (FNAF LOST), LOST 4.0 (Reality bending LOST, Alternate universes and FNAF, also undertale), LOST 5.0 (basically everything above), and finally... LOST 6.0, basically, LOST if I did not copy other games. 2 years later and I ended the series, me and Ly still chat to this day, Landen and I talk sometimes in school for fun, he's a grade lower than me, Thai meng (Who also had a big impact on the story and later left at LOST 3.0) was also a grade lower than me, I still see him. For Hang, I talk to him time to time, Aven is unknown... There are more members of the RP that I haven't talked about yet, but I feel like this is a waste, 5 likes and I'll tell you more.
Ly is in a good place rn, He's a community server owner although he's dumb sometimes, LOST ended mid 2023 btw.

I know this isn't going to happen, but we could use a video going over some of the groups that took inspiration from the loreverse. There's quite a few gems, such as LickGames400's and SharkyScience's Guardia-Overseer groups, or even more obscure ones such as TheBigDaddyDon's Samurai of the Zilton Isle or austinb411's Empire of the Ovum Moon. I'd even use this opportunity to advertise my very own "The Fellowship of Heroes" if it wasn't on indefinite hiatus.

I'm a Roblox roleplayer who has been roleplaying for a long time. I'm happy to see that there were people in Roblox who were roleplaying and just having a silly time together. Gives me memories of my days as a 12 year old.

Tallias brother , Lil T , also comes back into the story . Funnily Nitrolord says that Tallia pleads for him to stay , but in the original Tallia doesn't say anything about it after he leaves .

@@WhatDillionYTtelamon's bonus is an incredibly graphic NSFW fanfiction involving telamon and builderman. It was posted more around 2010 but no one knows the exact date. A lot of people found it REALLY funny (including telamon, he made a couple jokes about it) like one time someone made a SFW version where builderman actually gives telamon a bonus check and telamon responded by simply saying: "Hot". Psych ward patient behavior from telamon ☠️☠️☠️
Anyways, it started this weird trend where Off-Topic forum users would make "bonuses" of each other, i.e. joke fanfictions that were sometimes also graphic

The writing paid off. At 19 I wrote my exes dissertation and he got his PhD after presenting all 88 pages of my writing (his thesis, just my writing). Guess this 900 page roleplay did me a favor, lol.

when I heard "northerend" I was like "huh sounds a lot like that one place in world of warcraft" then I heard "scourge" and was instantly like "yeah, it's world of warcraft" kinda funny bc either the crew was on azeroth (the name of the world of warcraft planet where northerened is on) or norterend was moved to some other world where this bizarre story takes place
I could add more details that I found bizarre such as the whole killing a lot of the scourge thing, the green dragon dude and I'm pretty sure i heard "dun morugh" (not sure if I spelt that right tbh) but ehhh
either way this was a good video and pretty fun as I've roleplayed a lot back in the day on roblox and I still look fondly back at them :) (tho it was on actual roblox games and not forums xd)

I absolutely appreciate that there was a kid in 2009 who joined a pirate roleplay as some guy who could summon the final boss of the cult classic SNES RPG EarthBound, Giygas, to do his bidding for him, and also that his character name "Gyiygstar" references Gyiyg, the Japanese name for Giygas. All in 2009, when EarthBound was still quite obscure.

That was the best story I have ever heard. There were scary and funny moments. For example: funny at 5:05 and sad at 14:06. While watching this I jumped from the 18th floor because of a moment at 26:35. I crave a part 2 or another story like that. Thank you Nitrocurd for this amazing story.

Me who was roleplaying a lot back in the 2017 and 2018 i could say that this is pretty normal, I mean the old times pretty much didnt make much sense and everyone understood each other perfectly. Looking at this now may confuse people more but I could understand like 90% stuff in there, yet the imagination is so good.
