Guys I've said it b4 but I love Hollyhocks. All those tall ones are amoungst my faves..just likes Delphiniums and Foxgloves and Verbascum. ❤ Great work guys very educational video. Lars living with the stars🤩
They scream 'summer' here in Denmark -- especially growing along the old cobblestone streets and things. And thanks for the love! I told you we planted a bunch... now we force ya'll to sit thru the videos. hahaha
Thank your for mentioning that as a barefoot they should bloom vs seed. I’m an “impatient” gardener 😂 I recently planted 2 roots and hope they bloom 🙏🏼
I am more impationed then. I ordered 3 different variety of Hollyhocks, live plant. Two of them are about to start blooming that I am really excited. Today I ordered one more live plant. And few weeks ago I collected seeds from couple of Hollyhocks growing along public road. Planted few just to see the process. Do your "Hollies" started blooming?Double or single?
Soooo helpful. My husband loves hollyhocks but I’ve not had good luck growing them. I found some bare root miniatures on line and am so pleased to know about them. In the US Home Depot carries them. They will arrive in one week with free shipping.
GREAT! They're very easy to plant. You can plant them directly in your garden now, too (if frost is over), but we always go with pots for more control until they're really ready to go in the ground. Hope you love yours as much as we do!
You can try... but hollyhocks have a really deep tap roots as well as lateral roots that like to spread out below the ground. So I'm not sure if the pot would give it enough space. With that being said... there's no other reason why it wouldn't be happy there. :) Hope that helps!
I have Hollyhocks in my garden but I get rust on the leaves every year. I don't know if it's because of poor ventilation as I grow other tall plants like Cosmos around them in my borders.
@@emmellj7133 Thank you. I do have a group of three in a shadier part of the garden which is a bit damp. I'll have to look at my others in a different border to see if they're affected. Thanks again.
Come here! We work with a plant market on the Danish island of Bornholm. That's where we get all of our bare roots and bulbs. Their website is: blomsterverden.dk/
Hejsa.

Can I add Bare Roots to my 2 ft large Terracotta pots ?

Hmmmm. We grow cosmos around ours, too. Not sure why they’re rusting. Hope this year will be rust free for you. ❤️
I have learned it can be due to too much shade or/and too damp or lack of nutrition.

I have never even seen bare root hollyhocks for sale in England.
