TREATMENTS: Received or currently Receiving
2021: 8 Rounds of Chemotherapy (Carboplatin and Paclitaxel) with 30 concurrent radiation treatments to chest and lung
Failed Immunotherapy directly after Chemo and Radiation (Durvalumab, 1 round)
2022: Chemotherapy
10 rounds of Chemotherapy (Carboplatin, Alimta, and Avastin)
6 with Carboplatin, 4 without
Targeted Brain Radiation (Completed)
Most Recent Treatment plan, prior to passing:
Whole Brain and Spine Proton Therapy (Radiation) 13 sessions

The purpose of my channel is to document my cancer journey to look back on, and/or help anyone else going through anything similar. It is also to potentially help loved ones supporting those who are in this fight as well. This is also an easy way to update a lot of people at once. My main goal is to have footage of this journey for my husband and children to look back on. I originally created this channel as a sort of video diary for my
family.

I always recognize how you take everyone around you so seriously. Wether your kids or your animals, you always talk to them with so much respect and from a place of understanding. Reminds me a lot of Jenny. You are a great father and animal caretaker. Your trip looks amazing.

I never knew anything really about Cancer. I just ran across you and Jenny's videos. I never knew what people went through when they got it. You think of person that has it and them suffering. But I guess I never thought about how hard it was on a caregiver. I'm amazed how you both handled it. With grace. Kyle she would be proud that you have continued with all videos. It's beautiful to how much it's helping and how much you're helping others. God gave you both a purpose. It's really beautiful to watch. ❤

You want to know more about cancer and being a caregiver just ask me. I was my mom's caregiver and helped out my mother in law. I was also my dad's caregiver. He had MS.

The love there is between your beautiful kids is moving me to tears. Ellis is so gentle and caring for his little sister. Winnie's smile reminds me so much of Jenny. And you, Kyle, are the BEST dad to those children. They love you so much. What a wonderful first day in beautiful Maui! I agree. It's important that life not be sadness 24/7 for the kids. Kyle's doing a great job of showing that they can still have fun and make memories, as their mom wanted, without spending every second in their grief❤

I am so happy you guys took this trip. Having lost my husband having young children, it is so important for the kids, and us, to do these things to distract and to make positive memories during the hell of grief. You're an excellent father, and I know how widowed parenting was the biggest challenge in my life and not easy. You are doing a terrific job!

The love that you show Winnie in that moment when she lost her toy is what she will always remember. One time, my daughter left a gift at church and she was very upset so we stayed after Mass to look for it. The priest asked what we were doing and when we told him, he laid down on the ground, looking for it under the pews! A friend of ours happened to walk in at that time and saw our priest laying on the floor and thought the worst. We ended up finding it and having a good laugh too. We always remember how Fr.Gregory laid on the dirty floor to look for something special for a little girl.

I think it’s great you helped Winnie look for her toy! I dropped a Barbie shoe (yes one tiny little plastic shoe) during a walk on a hill with my family in Arizona. It was bright pink. My dad backtracked with me and we found it, and that moment still sticks with me to this day! My dad remembers too 😊❤

You’re a great dad Kyle! Don’t listen to the jealous naysayers. I was the sole support of my family for 28 years with a disabled husband who required 24/7 care but I still managed to take my two kids to Maui for vacation for twelve of those years. It’s all a matter of priorities. And the biggest expense was the full time live in care for my husband while I was gone.

I went to Maui in 1986. Seems like a lifetime ago. It was such a chill place. We did everything on the Island 😂❤. Very happy you all had a great time. The kids will remember this trip and all your adventures forever.

such a sweet vlog! the island looks so beautiful. I love how you show the importance of acknowledging Winnie's sadness when she lost her toy. You are right and so was Jenny, the loss of a toy is a big deal to a child. Their world has so much depth and meaning and we as adults forget when we get older. I appreciate how you are so mindful of everyone in your life including Kira, Huckle and Flower as well as we the viewers. It is refreshing to see compassion in action.

I’m happy of the way that Kyle still takes care of his kids. Most men would have remarried by now. My gf passed in June and her husband was remarried by December of the same year! She passed from metastatic breast cancer. Diagnosed during pregnancy. Continued with the pregnancy. Passed away two weeks before the baby’s 1st birthday. Now he never ever mentions her. Never updates her social media page. Probably doesn’t even visit her grave site. This family has been through a lot. Cancer affects everyone. Not just the patients. Trust me, I’m a cancer survivor. This is a beautiful vacation and I’m happy for them.
Don't insinuate that all fathers act like your late friends husband. I know lots of people that didn't remarry. Don't just humanity on one lousy person. I'm sorry you lost your friend, she sounds amazing❤

Kyle it’s been 52 years since I was in Hawaii. The family spent 3 weeks there and we went to the big island of Hawaii, Maui, Kauai, and Oahu. Maui was laid back then we stayed in a cottage. I remember there were lots of feral cats. Enjoy your vacation the resort looks lovely.
Kyle so very happy you Ellis and Winnie got to go to Hawaii and make these memories. Jenny would be proud of how you handle the kids, bring them places, vacations, camping, everyday life and just enjoying family time. It seems like a place of great beauty to enjoy, make videos and take pictures to remember all the great memories to look back on later on too. The bonding memories and moments with your children are priceless. This hotel you are staying at looks amazing, so beautiful inside and out, the views, the landscaping, scenery, the whole thing. Love the balcony, what a view. Hawaii is always on my bucket list to go to someday. So very happy for you all, can't wait to see more of your trip.

My late husband and I used to go to a few select restaurants that we loved and order just as you did. We would over-order, sharing everything, with the intention of taking most home to enjoy over a few days. If a restaurant is awesome, why limit yourself to just one choice of meal? ❤❤

What a great place to go to make new memories.
I was there about 9 years ago. Beautiful island with diverse climates/wildlife. One of my favorite memories is driving north to Lahaina - tall peaks to our right, and waves to the left while listening to Style by Taylor Swift because it was on the radio everywhere back then. Lots of magic on that island , hope you have a great time. It hurts my heart what happened because of the fires as it's such a special place.

Thank you for sharing your trip. I used to call Maui Home, it has been a couple of years since I went back to see family and friends. You are giving me the urge to go back. Just down the road from your hotel is Secret beach, beautiful place for photos at sunset. Not ideal for young swimmers but a must see. I used to stop in at Fairmont and use their fancy restrooms on my way to Secret Beach.
Love that you went searching for Winnie insignificant to you toy. Those are the memories she'll cherish how you went and helped her search for the toy. I've not tried the shave ice place you showed. Ululanis is supposed to be the best, just down the road from your dinner spot. Would like to know which one you think is better.
Enjoy Maui, you are so right, much more relaxed than the Los Angeles vibe of Oahu. Maui is my favorite of the islands. Maui No Ka Oi (Mauis the best)

@@pattykochenower4222 Kyle tried convincing her to go back to HI near the end, and she said she preferred to be relaxing at home just focusing on family. And they DID take a trip to HI when Jenny’s cancer spread to her brain. So all is well.

I understand that bc my beautiful Mama fought it SO hard for 3 very agonizing but special years, and I refuse to give it anymore power than it has already had. My Mamas,what would have been, her 81st bday is the 21st and I will celebrate her with a lot of all she loved...she left for Heavens clouds Nov 9,2020.

I won't go eat anywhere that isn't two to three portions, for the price of one. It's not fun cooking for one. I can't eat alot so it feels like money better spent when I have left-overs & its two meals. But then people look at me like I'm overweight & over eating. Mind your business, geeze. Some people need to stay in their own lane.
