Fighting hate with more hate will never work. This is how you do it. Most racists I have ever met based their beliefs off ignorance and throwing more hate at them will just make them worse. We need to show people that skin color, no matter what color it is, is not what makes someone who they are. We are all human and everyone needs to see that.

@@LisaAnn777 Exactly. When you hate someone, you will never want to join their side. People will change their thinking when talking with someone they respect and like. Too many people say "Love not Hate" without truly knowing what that means.

You can not tell me this man isn't brilliant. It is easy to be angry and not compromise, but it takes sophistication to know where you stand and still seek to understand another perspective. Daryl Davis wanted to know where such hatred stemmed from---which is fear. Fear is provoked by confusion. Confusion is unreliable and the cure is to seek knowledge. Anger is never a resolution, composure is.

Daryl is a badass and this is literally one of the best ways of changing the prejudices that keep people divided.
I feel like if every one of us made the effort to befriend people to dispel xenophobia or prejudice then we would be in a way better place. But this means stepping way out of you comforts zone and taking charge of your life in this world.
People who still read the news and let the government, the media, social media, etc, direct your feelings and reality are allowing things to devolve to a terrible place.
Take the reigns and do something radical like make a friend in people that are not in your bubble. Yes, it takes backbone, but it is the way things get better.

Unless someone tells them: Like their parents, a Fam. member, other kids, etc...so racism is a learned behavior. Example:
Years ago my g'daughter didn't know she was mixed/Black & White, etc.😱A kid @ school told her. 😳I thought it was obvious that she's a totally different color from her Mom & I. We're black/people of color. Her Dad is white.

I grew up in LA during the 1990’s LA riots, fueled by racial tension and hate. And I have definitely lashed back at hatred with all of the anger and hate that is to be expected. At the time it feels like all you can do… I pray for myself that I can learn the amount of grace and forgiveness that Daryl Davis has in his heart. Because he is so amazing and people need to talk about him more. The repetition on hatred needs to stop somewhere, and finding peace w yourself and laying down your arms to find peace w a supposed enemy is the end goal. That is true enlightenment in my mind. Thank you Mr. Davis for spreading your story.

I used to grow up believing extreme ends whether im on the right or left side of things. This can be applied to just about anything, lot of people don't see change on things because of the way the people are around them. I leaned as I got older, everyone has their own backgrounds and history to know that communication and viewpoints are different and it helped me never judge or assume things. I think the most valuable part of inter-growth is accepting and acknowledging that you could wrong on some things. I a lot of people I see that are on the extreme ends of beliefs have not seen that side of them yet. It is why communication and viewpoints on showing how people like him can show acceptance and loss to someone that have not seen it before, is like planting a seed exactly on what Daryl Davis is doing.

Daryl Davis should have his own show. Bringing in and speaking to current and former members of the KKK. As well as members of BLM and police officers. He should moderate all discussions and debates. I really think that is one thing our country needs. Somebody like Daryl to put an end to all forms of racism and improve race relations in the USA.

what a great man. ignorance is an ideology now-a days and once you bring people to think for their first time,,people can change. that man who argued with him will never learn anything about teaching lessons on how to live together in a society with common dialogue and less hate. that angry dude had empathy has base of his own philosophy that can lead him to nowhere.
