That’s very interesting question what does Pad Thai mean ? Yes it translated directly to stir fried Thai but there’s very interesting behind this famous noodle dish .....Pad Thai is actually isn’t very old dish It was actually created in the 1930s by Plaek Phibunsongkhram who was the prime minister at the time... he was very focusing on nation building...So he wanted to create the dish to mingle Chinese people in Thai and Thai feeling like we’re all same people by using Chinese noodles and tofu to represent Chinese and Thai ingredients fish sauce, tamarind paste , chili to represent Thai and called it pad Thai as a way to galvanize nationalism
Fun fact, the sky bar the Hangover was filmed in has an identical building across the river that was never finished due to the financial crisis in the 90s. Its called the Ghost Tower of Bangkok and you can climb it (illegally) by paying some sketchy gatekeepers. The views were once in a lifetime up there and the experience of climbing the ghost tower was just as unique. Amazing experience, if you're into taking some risks I highly recommend it. Just make sure to bring lots of water and a light source of some kind. Maybe some snacks if you're willing to stay up there for a bit. Don't recommend drinking up there but that hasn't stopped people in the past lol.
Weird how roles are reversed and JP likes the Thai food, being optimistic and Julia is having trouble. She's being really nice about it, but its obvious she doesn't like most of the food being presented with the host saying things like "Maybe you'll like this more" off screen while Julia tries not to make a stink face Lol. It's just funny because Julia likes "fancy foods" but struggles to eat authentic food from other countries.
I loved the new video, but I was holding a cat while I watched it, and she got upset about JP's shouting and scratched me on the chest, and when I shouted "OW MY BOOBIE", the cat looked at me like I was an idiot... it's all JP's fault...
