ok so to stay balanced you need to tighten your core and pull up as high as you can go like there is a string attached to your head and just keep practicing. it also helps to practice without turning and just pulling up while holding on to something to keep you steady. that is how i learned to when i was like 4 and now im 11 and im working on four pirouettes so you just have to keep working at it and training and it will eventually work out!!!!
@G30rg1aPeaches thank you so much for these tips. yes, i totally understand wat u r saying, u dont need to make a video. thanks again, i'll be sure to try out these things. in fact, im goin to ballet soon, and i'll try it!!
@SafariGirls it helps if you prepare for a pirouette normally, then instead of spinning around just go up into relevé and hold it for as long as possible. This will hive you an idea of how long you can hold it, then try pirouettes(:
@AaahItsHannah A sock is just fine, some use shoes, some use socks some use nothing..ness :) and about leaning over I'd suggest you to just make the preperation as in 2nd position > 4th position ( if a girl, or from 2nd if male) and then Raleve passe ( spelled it wrong but you understand ) and hold still , without turning , practice untill you stop falling and have full control :) good luck hope i helped
does the balanchine method require the arms to be so high that they reach the arm? cuz i was taught both the french and british way and i was never taught that
My teach told me to try to stay on releve at the end of the turn instead of landing. She said it will lead me to doing more turns eventually. For me, I "lose" my spotting and can't do more turns after. If you have the same problem try practicing just spotting without any technique.
Whenever I do a pirouette I lose balance, and when I passe my foot doesn't tough my knee, while I turn. If I tough it I loose my balance completely.... Any advice?????
+XxClarityxX keep your body upright, straight back, point your toes, focus on one thing as you turn and most importantly keep your balance. Im not a dancer but i have self taught my self how to keep turning (have straight legs and knees)
Spotting is the best advice I can give you. Also if you are just beginning, don't boost/push yourself as much when you turn. I hope that advice helped ;) (Like so others who need advice can see this please)
@Defyinghumanity i wasnt talking about her flexibility (which she probs sucks at too) but i just sed she cant even hold a releve so i bet she has a weak core
I'm not in love with this. I'm sorry. But I'm glad there is joy in the movement - but it's not refined. And I wish you had a real ballet dancer demonstrating this.
i love doing these! i usually do 5 of them at once from practicing them for a couple of weeks
I love her hair!
Thanks so much I totally learned it now!!!

this taught me how to do pirouettes and now i can do a double
@bbdarocks yeah but if you look at her other videos she is really good at flexibility moves
I think I need to learn how to spot first.. any tips on doing this..
does the balanchine method require the arms to be so high that they reach the arm? cuz i was taught both the french and british way and i was never taught that
Im trying to do it but i keep falling, even though i have really good balance.
Does anyone know how to push off, because I always end up doing half a pirouette.
Yes please. I can't even finish one piruotte.
Just do it with more force :)
I had that problem and like one of you said more force but only a little if you do to much then you will probably end up doing 1 in a half lol
my way of learning was by making sure ur in a really low plie and start off doing them slow and as you get it speed up.
that was helpful :).
Try to look at something and end there. Hope i helped!
it looks so beautifull wen you watch but wen u try 4 d 1st time its totally d opposite... :(
Does it count if I can do 2 on wooden floor with socks on ???

Whenever I do a pirouette I lose balance, and when I passe my foot doesn't tough my knee, while I turn. If I tough it I loose my balance completely.... Any advice?????
@aaahitshannah try doing a pirouette without turning and hold it for as long as you can then try the turn :)
My glasses flew off, lol.
My glasses flew off too
Is this en dehors or dedans?
@DramaGirl143 i did a half turn :D...maybe i should practise :D
I always end up falling I think I spin to fast
I have a real problem doing a double piourette, i can only get around 1 and a half times even with spotting any ideas how i can improve...anyone?
I can only do a full 360 turn around but then after that I fall and I can never do a second turn. Help?
+XxClarityxX keep your body upright, straight back, point your toes, focus on one thing as you turn and most importantly keep your balance. Im not a dancer but i have self taught my self how to keep turning (have straight legs and knees)
+Neela Naim Alright, thank you! I'll try this out.
I used to do it with the wrong feet tanks I can do it

I can only do one
U Just need to keep spotting, squeeze your core, and work on keeping your foot in a tight passe.
yes,Ballet shoes,Pointe shoes or jazz/lyrical shoe
I really suck. With my right I can do barely 1 and a half and with left I can't even do 1.
Don't give up! You wanna go to a bigger space than that.
pirouettes are easy once you get them, but pirouettes on pointe are a whole other story. they are the hardest thing for me on pointe...
i can do it but its sloppy :(
INCREDABLY HELPFUL THAN YOU!!
@Defyinghumanity i wasnt talking about her flexibility (which she probs sucks at too) but i just sed she cant even hold a releve so i bet she has a weak core
I can only do one..:/
For anyone who needs help u spin but use your hand to guid your feet
Isn't that a double pirouette?

I'm not in love with this. I'm sorry. But I'm glad there is joy in the movement - but it's not refined. And I wish you had a real ballet dancer demonstrating this.
