You should look at one spot like if your looking at yourself on the mirror then only look there your head is going to move so don’t move your head around just look at one spot
For anyone struggling with double pirroutes: doubles are so easy once you actually get it! It’s ok if it takes long just do these they are my favourite tips: 1. spot something and keep your eyes on it the entire time 2. Count DOWN from how many you want to do, if you want to do two you count in your head 2,1 (still spotting your spot. 3. Land into fourth position ALWAYS to get used to it. Hope you get your pirouette!

After strengthening my core, legs and practicing standing on one leg, pirouette is the next step to improving my balance. Your step by step instruction shows the building blocks needed to safely execute the spin. As a person in my 70s, working on and maintaining good balance is critical and your video will get me there.
Try to spot (keep your eye on one thing and spin your head around a bit faster than the rest of you) and practice balancing on releve for longer than you take to do a pirouette. You can use the barre at first, but once you're more used to it you should be fine. Practice, practice, practice! Hope this was of some help ❤️
She says in the video, it's about using the momentum from the arm change and the foot coming up. So you have to do it all in quick succession. And keep your core very tight like another commenter said. The teacher says in the video as well if you do some crunches before doing this it helps to train your core to engage for the pirouette.

Recently changed my major to dance cause after a year of not dancing I’ve realized I can’t live without it. I’m mainly a hip hop/jazz person so I’m learning how to do ballet and contemporary techniques better. This is helpful thank you!
I can’t even explain how much I needed this. I have been trying soooo hard to get myself to do the “perfect” turns because I am going to try out for my schools drill team. I have realized that I have been pushing myself way too hard and making myself frustrated that I can’t do it ... so I decided to just restart from the basics and watching this video really helped me out. I was easily able to get perfect triples in about 20 minutes just by watching this video and flowing with my body. Thank you!! 💗🥰
For anyone who is unmotivated because they never worked on flexibility until they were older, I started stretching when I was 23 and couldn't even touch my toes. Lol. I at least have my full splits now, and am really close to my middle splits, and if I worked harder Id probably be able to do more. Don't let it discourage you. Set your mind to what you wanna do. :)

1:01 this tip helped me a lot, I kept having my shoulders back and (correct me if I'm wrong) I think it caused my weight to shift backwards with the force of the turn, and I'd lose my balance and fall out of my releve onto my heel. On the right path to my goal of five turns within three months.

how is there no friction between your foot and the ground when you turn? like if i do this barefoot, i just can’t turn, so i have to do this in socks
Izzy H Yeah it rlly depends on the kind of floor. But sometimes ballerinas put rosin or something on their feet to do their turns 🦶🏼
Holo There Rosin is to prevent slipping, not to help you turn.
in the dance world we have things called turners! they are basically tight half socks that are meant for turns :)
My feet skin start peeling off and I feel like there's gonna be fire.
Shubhra Mishra you must keep your feet in socks because you have to have something slippery for you to actually do the pirouette as I have learned
