    FULL DESCRIPTION
One of the most important parts of trading is preparation … preparing a watchlist and preparing to make trades. If you don't have a plan, you risk making mistakes and losing money.
How you prepare for the trading day depends on what your strategies are. For Michael Goode, the most important time of day is in the pre-market hours. Roland prefers to prepare as soon as the market closes.
Your preparation depends on what kind of trades you’ll make. For some strategies, you can't plan it all before the market opens. But you should certainly plan it BEFORE you make the trade. And it’ll be different depending on what strategy you're using.
So how do you prepare a watchlist? First, look for stocks that spark your interest. Look at the prior day and night. Go through the charts for what’s moving. Run scans. Compile a list of tickers that you’d like to trade.
Find your risk/reward. Find your levels and chart them. Check out the support and resistance. Decide where to enter, and if it goes against you, where you can cover. Read through the news. Try to figure out why a stock is behaving a certain way.
And also check out the float. If you want to buy a stock, you want to buy a stock with a low float. Take a look at the SEC filings to make sure there are no outstanding registration statements where they have convertible warrants or some extra shares.
    Don’t be fooled by delusion.
Write down your plan. It can make all the difference! Then set up what you actually plan to do in that trade.
How do you create your watchlists? How often do you need to edit and revise your plan? Leave a comment below and let me know ...

I have several watchlists. Different sectors and float sizes to watch for news, patterns and RVOL. I enter on flag or ABCD breakouts. I especially like the the breakouts of those on multiple time frames. I've been consistent with that since beginning of February so I'm pretty excited. End of the fiscal year we're changing contractors. So, I'm going to take a chunk of my retirement money to fund my account better than what it is now so I can size up and join profitly. I was going to switch to another night shift job so I could do it earlier, but I can't find a job that shift that makes the same money I do now. So, the waiting game it is. Just a few more months. Still trading and studying til then just with small size. More time to dial it in that can't hurt.

I'm so glad I watched this. Hearing Roland talk about the issues with being long biased and having a plan is frustrating. I thought I was crazy because everyone always says plan your trades and trade your plan, but most of the time when I make a plan, the stock completely changes before the market even opens based on news or volatility and I'm left trying to basically just look up the biggest percent gainers for the day and figure out key support/resistance to trade off, sometimes withing minutes of making the plan. I feel like making a plan in advance for going long is way harder than going short.

Excellent video I am long biased at the moment so for me pre market is when I look at everything I live in New York so I don’t have to wake up at 4am lol , I use to have the same issues doing it a night before like Roland said and I never traded anything on my watchlist which was discouraging, I still need to be more tactical and more disciplined and trade only the very best setups

Nice video as usual. Long trader here, and maybe I'm missing out by not doing an aftermarket scan list. I find that the amount of effort required for after market work versus the amount of effort required for pre market is exactly the same so it comes out to working twice as hard for what mostly happens in the morning. I actually stopped scanning after market, and "for me" it actually works out better. Maybe you could make a video on aftermarket scanning? I might be missing something. Keep up the good work! 👍

2 videos in 1! Thanks Tim.
Roland has a good point, Stocks like $VISL are great for shorts. Supernova That has never held its gains. I know it squeezed a ton of shorts too. Jealous of anyone who shorted from the 8$ range.
But it’s not my strategy At the moment, a lot of times it is seeing what’s moving pre market especially for long biases like myself and formulating a plan before you get into the trade.
Anyways thanks again for the video Tim!
See you at the top in like 979 more trades!

I basically play mettalica and stop the song st the 58th second and the first letter i see in the lyrics i search for in yahoo then proceed to take 3 shots of vodka and place a 200% size on the order depending on the day of the month go long or short. Then i play mettalica unforgiven 123 and then i close the position. This works as i have 15 lamborghinis in my garage.

anybody looking at michael good as a "millionaire" is BS. if an electrical engineer or petroleum engineer or police sergeant showed you their total revenue after 10 years, you would think they're "millionaires" too. this is FUCKING BS. if you're gonna trade you need way higher results than this to make it worth it! or else, just get a safe non-risky fucking job that pays more than 100k/year and you too will become a "millionaire" after 10 years like michael goode.

  • @jsp6477
    @jsp6477 4 роки тому +1

$2 million in 10 years is good but not great and not inspirational, no offence. you are choosing a risky skill instead of getting a 200k/year job. if you're going to trade, might as well really crank up the results as high as you can and not 200k/year. doctors make $300k/year and it's a safe non-risky job after 10 years of school.
if michael goode is considered a millionaire then every doctor, engineer on the planet and any person making $100k+ a year is a millionaire...... after 10 years too. if you're gonna take on trading, you need serious serious results which would make it worthwhile to choose it over any other "safe high paying path" like doctors, engineers, investment banker, truck driver, police man and any other 100k+/year job
