- Many ND owners mention a rattle when slowing or when their car is idle. This might be a source for that rattle. A damper at the back of the transmission.

Thanks for posting this. Was having a vibration that sounded like it was in the dash, but I couldn't isolate. When driving, I had a pinging, like there was a loose heat shield, but I couldn't find one. Mine was not nearly as bad as yours. I could feel it was loose by wiggling it by hand, but touching a mechanics stethoscope on it was enough pressure to prevent rattling. Removed it, and sounds have gone.
Any issues with having it completely removed?
That’s funny for me that was the broken gearbox lol. Cute car
With the thickness of the frame I'd put a thread in these holes and screwed directly into them. Not everyone has a tap though. Thanks for showing this.
I used J-B Weld and it worked great
If the engine guard or splash panel or whatever it is that has to be removed for an oil change isn't tightened enough, it will cause creaking noises.
You’ve just added 5 grams of weight to your car ;)
Now I'm wondering if mine is loose/rattling??? Don't really notice it.
Only the 2.0 has this counterweight, the 1.5 doesn't.
What is that part?
Is that an nd1 or nd2 , i don't have this on my nd2😅
ND1
@@kentbigdog1 thanks man , I'm have a strange noise from under the car and I'm checking
I just freaked out too haha I just checked and didn’t even have it
Spray foam?
It would have to be able to withstand the heat off the exhaust. But yeah, that might work.
What size bolts did you use?
I couldn't tell you as I pulled them from my bolt bin that has hundreds of bolts in it.
I ended up using M5x12 bolts. Thanks for the video, the rattling noise was very irritating and embarrassing.
Was the rattling pretty loud? Mine is pretty bad but I’m going to check this tomorrow morning
6800 to 7000 rpm
Two words . Duct tape
Too much heat as the exhaust goes by there.
@@kentbigdog1 big facts. the first thing id do is slap a piece of electrical tape on that and call it a day haha
