  • ARW (Anderson Rabin Wakeman) comprised of Jon Anderson, Trevor Rabin & Rick Wakeman - all of Yes - along with Lou Molino & Lee Pomeroy stopped at the Fox Theater in Atlanta on the 4th night of their Fall 2016 North American tour. Here they play the epic song “Awaken” from Yes’ 1977 “Going for the One” album. I apologize for missing the first few notes, and also for showing so much of the lady’s head in front of me. I was trying to be unobtrusive with my camera.

    They're getting better and better! I was at Hollywood Hard Rock Last night 10/12/2016 and although there were a couple of minor hiccups the show was a magical and amazing Yes experience. The bass and drums did a fantastic job but there is no doubt that Chris and Bill are missed as in the current Yes lineup. Trevor is a bit rusty and his voice didn't shine as much as it used too back in the day. but I'm sure that will melt away as the tour continues. He gave Jon all the spotlight in that aspect, and I've always loved his voice with Jon's. I was glued to the whole set and enjoyed it a slight more than the Yes concert earlier this year mostly due to Jon being absolutely in top form and Rick being the same old Rick!! What a great time!

      I agree, some people like to criticize, but they are all wrong, its the vibes that count, not the sound by itself, its compressed, there is no low end, and I am sure they can do better if the rehearsed for a whole year

    This is more of the original Yes than Yes is now? A little rough from lack of practice but sounds good enough!

    So great to see this.. I'm sure it was a magical night for YES devotees.. Interesting that they waited until after Chris Squire's death to make this happen.. I'm sure that had something to do with it.. I have a feeling Jon and Steve don't get along that well these days.. On a side note, Trevor seems to be abusing the hair color lately.. ;-)

    YES - oh NO! I don't think the Howe set up have got much to worry about but both bands don't have that magical YES ingredient anymore. Time for the old Wizards to retire and let young warriors grasp the chalice and take YES music to higher vibrations!

    Steve Howe respects himself and Yes and does not expose to this sort of thing.

    It's sad to see that people pay more attention to their phone... and watch the entire concert through the 4 inch screen, rather than experiencing the show. Put your phone down and experience the show.

      Thank you for your unsolicited advice. I assume you're aiming that at me since you're watching my video. How ironic!
      Let me help you understand my perspective - a) Watching my camera screen does not preclude me from listening and enjoying, and I am at a concert mostly to listen to the music (often I close my eyes and just listen - don't you?); b) I can listen and use my camera at the same time - those skills use different parts of my brain; c) I do my absolute best to not interfere with others around me - I have a pocket camera with a small screen, and I don't hold my camera over my head (see my note in the description about the lady's head); d) I only record a few songs per show, usually carefully planned in advance; and e) I get further enjoyment from sharing my videos and the music with others who - for many various reasons - can't see these artists live.

    No doubt AWAKEN is a masterpiece. Todmobile (with Jon Anderson) have a great rendition too : ua-cam.com/video/yE1pnDERWU0/v-deo.html

    To a lot of fans (who are also genuine YES Fans) this is more Yes than the band allowed to call themselves YES (for legal reasons)...that seems to really upset some people. Surely...all that matters is performance...make up your own mind..but don't fall into the trap of losing your ability to make a judgement based on merit...not on how many shows you saw or how many albums this or that particular lineup has in the bag...it's all nonsense...if Yes produced 21 original albums and only 5 are of the highest calibre...surely those 5 carry more credibility than the other 16 mediocre offerings? Quiz: Name your absolute top 5 YES albums of all time.

    They should have rehearsed more. Awaken seems to be a mess in most of these vids

    • @sega62s
      @sega62s 7 років тому +1

      Not that bad, the audio is crap, cant hear the bass pedals and the low ends, and compared to Bieber I would listen to any of Yes stuff first, its all in the vibes, close your eyes it it will call ya

    • @Chudhole
      @Chudhole 7 років тому

      andy T why do yes fans reference Bieber all the time? Anyway the problem with being under rehearsed (which is clearly evident here) is that it ruins some of the more iconic passages. And it seems the band has the skill to play the parts. So you either call it jazz or under rehearsed.

    • @seananderson8275

      Not sure what Justin Bieber has to do with this but each Yes fan to his own I guess...

    In this song the triple-neck bass is fundamental because the music demands fretless, fretted and the odd 6 string too. And I'm not talking about the bassist. Turn off the radio Chris ...

    I cant believe I'm disliking a Jon Anderson performance but this is just terrible. The Toddmobile version is a complete opposite. Jon sounds fantastic and the orchestra and choir make this song so excellent!
