Good Morning! I hope everyone has a wonderful Memorial Day. We were pretty busy yesterday with the flea market and I didn't get to answer as many comments as I would have liked. I just wanted to put a little context behind this two part video. First of all, some of you noticed that we left quite a bit behind and were a bit selective. There were a few reasons for this. We try to be conscientious of how much inventory we currently have or anticipate coming in. We knew that this visit to Eric was a prelude to a potentially BIG weekend at the flea market. And sure enough, as you'll see tomorrow, we ended up with FOURTEEN boxes this weekend. With only KC and I listing, that's going to take a while to get through. I don't want to end up with another third floor situation. Second of all, I will also be the first to admit that I miss things and I overlook things--even things that I have knowledge about and I see when I'm editing. The way I look at it, someone else got a great item when Eric got the boxes to the flea market--and I'm okay with that. Hey, maybe you'll see it pop up on Ebay or Etsy from another local reseller and could show them some support. And lastly, some of you expressed disappointment that I didn't pick up items that you like or collect. I try to cater to your tastes as best I can, but I sometimes find it hard to break from my comfort zone and picking routines. Occasionally, I will buy things that I wouldn't normally grab for resale. There have been occasions where the items sell well or not so much--and I pay to learn. I'm really sorry if this video (or yesterday's video) stressed you out! That was not my intention and I hope my explanation helped a little. I just thought it would be fun to dig through some boxes together. I hope you all have nice day and I'll see you tomorrow.
Wow, wish I had a flea market to go to, but it's been pouring rain since very early this morning. Happy Memorial Day to you and your viewers. Let's all remember our fallen heroes and pray for those on the front lines protecting our freedom and health.
U do u don't apologize!
You are sweet to explain yourself, but golly, just buy what you want! I figured you were trying to not take advantage of your generous friend by taking all his good stuff :-)
Crazy Lamp Lady I loved looking through the boxes with you! I wish I was there in person! Please don’t feel bad about how you choose items! You know what your situation is and how you want to run your business. I will watch your videos forever!💜
Everyone will see things they like that you didn't get, that's how picking through boxes or tables at a flea market goes, don't let it worry you. That being said, I really wish you had picked up that LuRay gravy boat, lol. I do like seeing things that I can then put on my list to keep hunting for so that will go on my list. Love these videos,so nice to be back out there, even vicariously.
I would imagine those blue glass "dessert" bowls are for sorbet. It would have been served as a palate cleanser between courses, or after the main meal prior to dessert.
Absolutely Dianne thats exactly what they are
Yes! I guessed sherbet glasses -- same difference. :)
was going to scroll through and see if anyone had put sorbet glasses beforer I put it down and it was the very first comment I saw! LOLYes sorbet dishes
I love vicariously shopping with you. Thanks for bringing me along!
Same here!
I love watching you shop and also go through the boxes and show us your treasures..love it. Please dont change. If anyone doesnt like it too bad. They don't have to watch.
Stop with the apologies! We love your channel and we’re deliriously happy to go along while you pick. Pure enjoyment for us. Thanks!
How wonderful that Eric did that for you! That is a ton of work to set all those boxes out and then put them away!! Fun, fun!!
The flower aquariums are cool. I fill them with marbles and put them in the windowsill.
Don't rush the girl. We like to listen to her think out loud. Slow but thorough. Gotta love her.
I was locked out of my big old impala four door back in the late 80s at the grocery store in the rural little village of Climax nc . Not as much there as there is now. There was a post office and a grocery store barber and beauty shop and a couple of country stores that sold gas , beer and cigarettes, etc
A volunteer fire dept. A little old lady came out of the grocery store with her purchases took one look at my plight, said hold on I ll have that open in a jiffy@ she scooted across the road to the fire dept got a coat hanger and came back and popped the lock! I was stunned!❤❤😎
I got locked out and I had seen Fire Dept Dudes going to lunch so I waited til they came out and they had my "impossible to break into" vehicle open in no time!!!🙂
Love watching you go through the boxes, so relaxing. I appreciate that you always take the time to share your knowledge.
Fantastic video!! Puppy's, Ned Bird, and an epic haul, who could ask for more?! You choose what you like, and that's the way it should be. You cannot please everyone. Eric seems like a great friend!!
Love a good rummage through boxes! With a bonus puppy and Ned-bird is doing so well!
Once again a very satisfying day at the boxes. Looks like you enjoyed yourself and Drew and Eric certainly were. I loved the laughter and Ned Bird and all the fun you seemed to be having. Thanks for sharing you goody choices and all the rest in the boxes too. Have a great day! Hope the guys finally succeeded in getting that door open, how frustrating!
I love to see two grown men struggling to get in a locked car door ,I say this cause I've been there before and without tools just with whatever you can find ,but when you get that door open you're the hero ,I've learn to carry an extra set of keys in my pocket
🇺🇸Happy Memorial Day to all who have kept us free🇺🇸. I couldn’t be happier watching these videos as I am in the high risk category and can’t go out. Everything Jocelyn looks at and picks or doesn’t pick is so interesting as her knowledge is in incredible. It really doesn’t matter if I would pick it. It is the fact that she carries a camera around for us to see all of the treasures. Thank you Jocelyn. 🥰🌻
Thanks for sharing, it was so exciting to see so many treasures. I could have reached into the boxes through my phone and rummaged right along with you both. Hope you have awesome sales. Love from Germany
I think we need an Eric house tour of all his beautiful collectables with a story for each of them ❤💚💜💙💛
I believe the little blue dishes are for Sorbet. This was served between dances at a Ball or between courses at dinner to clean the pallet
Awww so nice to see little Ned bird. He looks like he's doing well with Andrew filling in as Mr. Mom😊
I was so stressed through this all. I kept yelling, No! Don't pass that! Stop! Look in that box!
Lisa K I could pick after both of them and have a great haul for MYSELF!! 😉
Sold
Well this was just great fun! You did a great job of taking us along! I'm getting attached to Ned Bird, so thank you so much for sharing him! Can't wait to see the haul video! Ya'll are the best!!
I've been following your channel for about 3 years now, you never disappoint. You are positive and uplifting. Thanks 💖
@17:48 Perhaps to hold sherbet for cleansing the palate between courses?
⭐Finding treasures in boxes from the 'Banana Box Daddy', gaining more knowledge, seeing sweet little Ned Bird is doing well and an adorable puppy visitor! What more could you ask for? 😉
I didn't find this stressful at all...just enjoyed watching you explore. Thanks for taking us along on all of your adventures. Stay well!
Good morning! Thanks for sharing the $1 boxes 😃
On the first part of the video from yesterday...the French white porcelain covered casserole with the rabbit on top sells on eBay for $40 to $45. If it has no damage and you can go back and get it, it might be worth it.
Great items to list. Between you and Drew you have a great assortment of tastes to offer your buyers.
Drew’s became the best Momma Bird! So precious he’s taking care of that baby bird! ❤️
I want that orange Hall refrigerator piece!!!!! Grab it!
I know everyone is telling you that you missed stuff. I’m just saying I wish I was there to pick through what you left! So.much.great.stuff! Thanks for taking us with you. I really, really want to be there in person. Eric, you have wonderful. Pieces!
love to watch
listen and learn
from the most epic
connoisseur of fine art
You just never know what’s going to happen? Three junkers plus bird and super cute puppy, and a van locked full of treasure, to be continued soap opera! Blessed and safe days!
LOVE that Westinghouse fridge bowl/lid
OMG! I’m a paper crafter/junk journal maker. Our community would love those air mail envelopes!
The little blue and amber dishes are for sorbet palate cleanse between courses ☺️
Good morning! I would have loved those horse plates you passed up! Hard to find horse plates like that oh my!
Love, Love that purse! What a sweet birdie!
Awww - I once a little tiny human I called Ned-bird when he was rooting around to nurse. Now he's 26 yrs old & 6'9". Not a Ned-bird anymore. Just Ned.
Those very delicate fluted dishes are sherbets meant to only hold enough to cleanse the pallet after meal, but before dessert or after dinner drink.
I loved those. I’m sure I’d miss the good stuff and buy just whatever appeals to me. And those did!!
Beautiful things left behind . Also like Eric's knowledge of a lot of things like you guys
I have a lot of fun predicting what you reach For next... im getting pretty good at it😉
Thanks For Letting us be Part of your Adventures
Oh gee, this is torture. I get so happy when you hear me and take what i tell you, haha! The colorful aluminum music box in the first row,
Looks so much like the one my dad gave my mom 65+ years ago. I lost the lid to it. Ugh, would love to find a replacement
Wow, I would be there for days picking out things! ❤️
Firstly, get the air mail envelopes, I would pay 20+ for those plus shipping. Secondly, the little bohemian glasses are for sorbet course. Finally, the small Japanese dishes are salts. they're usually sold in sets with little flat shell spoons. 😁
I just love watching your videos. I am addicted! I can't wait for our local flea market to open. Thanks for sharing.
Love Ned bird being a cat person I had no idea people could really keep baby birds alive & thriving. ❤️
Oh my goodness, I had that elephant and tiger chalkboard when I was little! I used to play school with it and write the made-up names of all my students on it!
Small blue glass dishes w/ yellow bottom are sorbet dishes. You had just a bite or two to cleanse your palette before dessert and coffee/wine/brandy; or after your fish dish and before the meat.
Those tiny dessert bowls are for palate cleansers, the are served between strongly flavoured courses so the diners can enjoy the new course more fully.
Fun looking with you through the boxes! I kept saying "Oh! What's that? Oh! Pick that up!" I think the box full of "cute" little salts were Satsuma. The Glidden piece was also nice.
As usual I see stuff that I want. What a score. Thanks banana box daddy for the chance to look through the boxes although I was absent.
There was a cute little teapot with, strainer, and lid in the box with the pink and blue plates. Since you didn't even pick it up and look at it, I am presuming it was worth anything.
GREAT VIDEO! LOVE YOU GUYS, LOVE ERIC AND GRACIE & BIRD! ALWAYS FUN!
Love your videos! FYI, the only item in the box of pastels that was Luray was the gravy boat. The others were W.S George etc. I've been collecting Luray for 30 years and have yet to come across any gray in the wild. More power to you if you find some!
I have one piece that I’ve had for a while. It’s unmarked, but I think it might be lu-Ray. Do you know of any good online references?
If you post a photo of the piece in the Facebook group, I can look it up for you!
Aaah!! At 5:53 you FINALLY took that pitcher out!! Lol!! The torture!!!
Wow! I would have taken that box if airmail envelopes for $1! Goodness me crafters & snail mail-ers would go crazy over then. Like me! Lol!
That's what I was thinking!! Okay, I'm not crazy. Next time I'm going with my gut.
@@CrazyLampLady - sometimes I think you are rushed and too influenced by someone else in your video. sorry, but I do.
I grab marbles whenever I can & have a large Ball jar (around 20" tall) that I put them in.
So happy you picked up the Bjørn Wiinblad (Nymolle Denmark) b/w bowl!!! Love his designs! ❤️
As a 49 year old daughter of parents who were antique dealers for 50+ years, it drove me crazy seeing so many items being passed up. AAAAAH! The funny thing is, when I was 20, and traveling with my parents to do shows, I swore up and down that I would never get into the business. Now I've been thrifting and selling a few things. Just testing the waters though, because the market is soooo saturated. It's easy to get discouraged, but you guys keep me in a positive frame of mind. Do you guys ever go to Burton, Ohio for the Geauga flea market? I haven't been there for years and I'm hoping this COVID garbage will calm down soon. I'm dying to go!
Blue glasses for sorbet!
So many things passed up that are worth good money (the hammered aluminum) for one dollar. Things you good make good money selling, I’m getting stressed, but still watching!
Just when I thought you'd run out of ways to entertain, you take us to Eric's driveway! We got to meet Gracie and Nedbird, shop for dollar treasures before everyone else and watch Drew and Eric try to break into Eric's van. (Doesn't Drew travel with a slim jim?) That was fun! What are we gonna do tomorrow???? (PS I would love to know Eric's background-how did he become so knowledgible about antiques and collectibles?)
Eric seems like a good dude. He confirmed that with his Crosby jersey. ✨🖤 💛
I would love those Avon giblets to complete my mom's collection that I inherited and means so much to me. Just need 6 to complete collection.
If you come across avon. Cape cod goblets again I'm interested
Blue dishes with orange stems are palate cleansing bowls.... they have a flavored shaved ice in them that are served in between dishes to cleans ones palette. (silver service waiting on in officers mess these would be used although ours would be clear crystal due to British Army ) hope this helps you research.
What a cool old detector, awesome video thanks
just started watching your video, this is pretty sweet deal to get to check everything out ahead of time. the only thing is the constant clammering of the plates and things is so loud. i'm always afraid you're gonna break stuff lol
I wanna see a tour of Eric's house. :) Please Eric???
The blue glass dishes would be for Sorbet (or sherbert to some), the sorbet being a palate cleanser in between the heavier courses of a meal, and certainly between fish and meat courses.
Thank-you! I should try this with my kids the next time we get fancy and have mac and cheese. 😂
LOL thought I recognized that house...& Eric!!! Used to see him at Williams Grove every week...
OMG!! I want those little, fluted, berry, desert dishes!!! I need to take a drive out ur way!! We don’t have flea markets in Illinois like you guys have!!!!!!
I would have flipped over the air mail envelopes!!! Junk journalers dream!
I Really DID like that Laray Pastel ? dish set! Yellow, pink, and blues..!
Pottery 😍 I use them for plants idc who makes it or what the glazing looks like!
Omg net bird is so big!! You guys did such a good job with him
Kosta boda is Swedish glass, very popular and expensive, very beautiful pieces some of the vases are over $1000 ! In both Denmark and Sweden, well all of Scandinavia.
Doesn’t half a tennis ball over the lock and then hit it work ? The air pressure is supposed to pop the lock
Love the paper stuff especially that old children’s book
Those blue fluted bowls are probably sherbet glasses. It used to be fashionable to have a small palate cleaning sorbet/ sherbert between dinner courses
At about 5:59 just after you picked up the mayonnaise dish is a blue and white pitcher with flowers on it. Anyway haha, I have the cream and sugar and two salt shakers, The shakers aren’t an identical match to the cream and sugar but close enough I display them together. Otherwise I know nothing about them.
The blue glass and gold footed dishes at 17:25 are Intermezzo. They are gorgeous! Please get them!!
Love the riding horse plates too
😍
That Niagra Falls tin, I have one but the picture is a little different. It
Was my parents, I remember it from when I was little. My mom gave it to me for grade 1 to use as a crayon box
Did you mention what the clear vase on the ground beside the white and clear pressed bowl was? It like a piece from my Mother’s spooner collection.
The pottery you picked up at 15:42 in the upper left hand corner of that box... I gotta have it!!!
Hello. The little bowl with the Grey design, it’s from Denmark. The name Bjørn Wiinblad is very popular i Denmark. It’s been around for Many many years. The design is made in many different colours - Grey, Black, yellow, red, green (bright colours)
LOVE this ending!!!
Put the wire down between the rubber and the window in a hook shape and should be able to pull the lock from the inside ...I've done it tons of times...but your licksight be different to the ones in Australia...lol
Lol he needs to trust you, when u say you go the GO through it, you go through it! Lol he is fast...too fast. Omg you left that lil bird to go back to the boxes...u are excited!
My wife and I sell things all the time, ebay flea markets, antique shows and we don't sell things that have damage. And we have found that pottery, glassware & crockery with damage don't sell very well at least thats been our experience. And the dealers we have been associated with try not to sell damaged items. How well do the items that you buy with damage do. Just the other day we passed on a egg plate that had a small chip otherwise really nice. Are we missing something? I realize that letting people know about the damage is key but we've always been under idea that people don't want to buy damaged items. Would you give me some insight please? Thanks.
Too funny, looking at Andrew and Dave..awesome video 👍❤️
Please get the ring salt dishes. I love them and would buy the lot. They are wonderful and I love love love them.
you miss a couple of blue and white dishes that are worth more then a doll hair blue onion think it was a cream container worth maybe 50. or more and a chiness teapot if it isnt cracked most likely another 50. just saying or watching i just have a eye for everything blue and white just saying great idea to have your pick cheers looks like a lot of fun
I wonder how many people are on edge! Come on Andrew!😜
NED BIRD!!! AWWW ......GREETINGS FROM MONTANA!!! Thanks guys I'm learning lots from you!!! Plus I just found out about the drinking game am I learning yes am I drunk kinda....I'm binge watching..I love your old intrro but thanks for putting it at the end. I'm impatient I like just getting into it!! You are awesome!!
You have a good friend
you showed those same avon goblets when getting the store ready to open.. lol
Really enjoyed the dollar boxes. Tell Eric and Andrew to use the antenna off the van.
Ditto on the sorbet blue and amber glass!
