I live about forty miles away from there and stay away........lol!
Seriously, just turned 70 in June and certainly cannot eat like I used to years ago. I can't believe that someone compared it to Golden Corral. They need to visit Shady Maple and would see, the two are not even in the same league.
Aren't there baked goods completely out of this world? We are very fortunate as we have a farm market close by that is only open on the weekends. A lot of the Amish come and have booths that sell a lot of the baked goods you probably saw there, at the bakery store. Also, all of their fresh produce, eggs, chicken, fresh meats, etc.
We feel blessed since all of their products just blow away the things you buy at markets. Things like steaks, roasts, pork roasts and chops, etc.
So glad you had a great experience in Transylvania......lol! Lancaster County and the Amish are certainly a worthwhile treat to come back for. Next time, go off the beaten path a bit and check out some of the small, quaint towns (boroughs in Pa.). Also, on Rt.30, there is a huge outlet center. If anyone is into trains, in Strasburg, there is the Pa. Railroad Museum, with accompanying train rides on an old steam engine train, across the street.
Many blessings to you and your family !!!

Yes, you are right about the baked goods. They are amazing! Along with all of the fresh meat and cheese and really cool things that all the markets. We are looking forward to going back again next year. We’ve already made our reservations at the RV park and thank you so much for all of your info and for watching our channel.❤️😊

Habbersett is the best brand of pork scrapple if you want to try it. If you live anywhere within a 100 mile radius of south eastern Pennsylvania it will be in the same section of the supermarket as bacon and breakfast sausage. If you aren’t in the area, Publix carries it in the frozen breakfast section. I got several southern friends hooked on the stuff when they visited me up north and the say they can get it at Publix. Just put it in the fridge until it’s fridge temperature, cut it around 3/8” thick or so and pan fry it on one side until that side is getting crispy and then flip it and crisp the other side. When done it will be crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. I eat it plain and sometimes it mixed some with my egg yolk. Some like ketchup or pancake syrup on it, and some like to dip it in flower before frying. I was born and raised in SE PA and love Habbersett Scrapple, but the stuff they serve at places in Lancaster is usually locally made and can be hit or miss, and I don’t chance it anymore in that area after getting sick once.

Wow, looks like you know your scrapple. I’m def going to use your tips and try it out. We live in Tennessee so I’ll have to get it at Publix and fry it up crispy. Thanks for the time it took to write this up

Please if you buy scrapple, get it from a Local Made Farmers Market and PLEASE do not bread it or deep fry like restaurants do. Scrapple taste best the easy way. Slice thickness you want, no oil or anything needed to your pan, get the pan nice and hot, works great in cast iron as well, place scrapple in the pan and don't touch it. When checking usually maybe 4 minutes if you can flip with ease it's ready to be flipped (Time depends on cooking source). If it doesn't move onto you spatula with ease it's not ready, will be crispy. Love Shady Maple.

There is a menu with pricing posted at the beginning of the video, it is anywhere between 23.99 and 28.99 prior to any discount. They charge you different amounts on different nights because sometimes they have seafood or other specialties on the buffet. We had a party of four and after our discount And the 15% gratuity and taxes it was $94

Looks really good! But Rich??? Scrapple (all the stuff they don’t put in sausage is how I describe it 🤮)??? I was raised on that and loathed it! You might disagree but no way for this girl!

I’ve heard a lot about scrapple for many years. I know it’s prob worse than hot dogs(which I love). I’m on a mission and I must try it. Thanks for watching

They would make money on me, I can't eat that much. And I eat salad and fruit last.

They had a very impressive salad bar! And there was a lot of fruit so you would have been pleased!❤️

    Reminds of golden corral.

It was sort of like golden corral, but I think the food was a lot better. Not salty and you could tell it was not just dumped out of a can that had just been opened!

Before I even watch the video, I can say NO. It isn't worth it. I've had the misfortune of having to eat here twice. Both times I was terribly disappointed.

Some people have different tastes and buffet style restaurants aren’t your bag, I get it. We really enjoy going to different locations and trying out local foods. Thanks for watching

@jennifermountaingirl Agreed. However, I do like buffets. It's just that I found the quality of the food to be mediocre. Have a great day! 🙂
