Lusus Nature and BMBLB each have a story. Lusus has nothing to do with the main story. It's actually a song for the main villain of rwby Grimm eclipse video game that got added to this volume. BMBLB meanwhile was a random song Jeff wrote when the soundtrack was delayed due to a hand injury because Casey is a Bumblebee fan. Jeff actually made it without consulting Roosterteeth as just a fun happy what if song.
Lol this was good to know because I'm thinking..... IF JEFF WROTE IT AND CASEY SUNG IT!.... IT MUST BE CANON RIGHT?!?! but I see that Jeff just created it for kicks and giggles and Casey's a Bumblebee shipper 🤣
"Bad Luck Charm" - My headcanon is that this song exists in-universe: Qrow wrote it as a teenage edgelord at Beacon. "Armed and Ready" - Goddammit, Barb. "Lusus Naturae" - I know it's not canon, but I love how Jeff worked the opening into the score of the volume. "BMBLB" - The album was released during Pride Month. And those two need a supercute love song full of bee puns. "Boop" (acoustic) - I can never decide whether I like this better than the original arrangement. Song's a bop either way.
The day after Tai got Qrow to go to school with a skirt he was so pissed he wrote that song to vent all his life frustrations. The reason the song is about being alone and isolating himself is because he was so angry that he was in that "I'm running away from home" mindset.
Qrow kinda is just constantly, unconsciously casting a “Murphy’s law” field around him (except when it would be *too* inconvenient for the plot) Cleaning your glass at the bar? “Aww, geedarnit.” It fell and broke. Leaping in combat on the rooftops? Whoops! Through the weak beams you go. Building a campfire? Huh. Logs just tumbled. It effects everything in the field except his own body.
There is the theory tho that, while it does not affect him directly, there is something like a feedback should he decide to intervene. Like when he saved Ruby from the failing beam
For Qrow, if you look back to when he was introduced, you can see the misfortune that followed him wherever he went (glass shattering, others making a mistake, things breaking, etc.). For the enemy, he fights best alone because they receive all the bad luck (Tyrian falling through the roof of a building), but for family and friends, if he’s around they become subjected to his bad luck as well (A wooden pillar nearly falling on Ruby, as an example). So no, not necessarily affecting him alone, but those around him. Considering how his entire team is now split apart (Tai and Raven separated and Raven leaving, Summer Rose is dead, etc.), and the fact that this likely wasn’t the only incident, it makes sense he’s afraid to stay around people he cares about.
51:36 Qrow explained it himself: “Comes in real handy when fighting oppenents” So yes, his misfortune is bound to everyone around him, wether they’re on his side or not. There is no way to predict if it will happen to the person he cares about or the enemy he is facing though, it’s completely random and ALWAYS active. Its basically: ‘if something CAN go wrong, it WILL go wrong’ Wether it’s helpful to him or not doesn’t matter, bad luck is bad luck. Its more personalised, there is no “if this is bad luck for them its good luck for me”, its ONLY “its bad luck for them” The latter part isn’t taken into account at all, its simply personal bad luck on everyone in his vicinity.
Qrows bad luck can happen anywhere, anytime, to anyone, including himself. He cant control who it targets or how exactly it’ll happen. The wood beam that nearly fell on ruby, qrow’s bad luck , Tyrian falling through the roof of the building during the fight, qrows bad luck. It can be as little as an inconvenience or major bodily harm to whoever it targets.
I think it's safe to say Qrow's semblance does NOT affect him, it only affects others. Slight spoilers: The only two times I remember seeing Qrow himself be unlucky are in Chibi and when playing a board game with Clover. Semblances in Chibi don't quite work the canonical way and on the board game it was definitely Clover's semblance working (As Clover's is giving himself good luck, so it's more focused and as a result more powerful, but affects only one person instead of Qrow's area of effect one), not Qrow's. That's the reason Clover's semblance works the way it does in the first place, to be the absolute opposite of Qrow's.
@@gazelle_diamond9768This is patently false. A couple examples, he nearly tripped and fell in a hole that opened up in the mines when they we hunting the Geist in volume 7, and also, although this could be attributed to Clover, he only ever drew bad hands when they played cards. Also, Tyrian poisoning him in volume 4. He's constantly fighting against his own bad luck.
@@Great_Olaf5 Those are not attributed to his semblance. Again, it ONLY brings bad luck to those around him. NOT himself. Him being poisoned by Tyrian was a consequence of him needing to save Ruby who otherwise would've suffered from his semblance. Him drawing bad hands was purely Clover's semblance. And him almost falling down the hole was just a random misfortune. If you're so sure about this, then give me some more examples.
1:21:16 "Considering bad luck is Qrow's thing, do you think he's ever caused a miscarriage?" I think Qrow would risk his life to get as far away from any pregnant woman he might come across, the man would NEVER let himself near one and risk that shit. That said, if it was an early stage of pregnancy that wasn't immediately visible and that woman passed by Qrow, it could very well have happened. I mean, passing by him is probably not going to cause something like that since you'd be near him for very little time, but I can definitely see it if for example, they slept on the same inn, rooms beside one another. Overall, very much possible.
One really tragic thing I feel with Qrow is, anytime anything bad happens to someone around him, he is going to blame himself for it. Even if his semblance had nothing to do with it.
My favorite part of "This Life is Mine" is that the song structure follows Weiss's character arc from the start. She goes from being very uptight and proper which is portrayed by the opera, then becomes more her own person in Volumes 1-3 where the rock section comes in. Finally, she's in FULL rebellion mode starting in 4. Gone is the opera, gone is the classical sound, gone is the prim and proper princess Weiss, and she's angry and done trying to live to her father's standard. And the syncopation between Casey/Weiss and the instrumental in the third section as she literally says "my mind and heart are one" is just fantastic. Such a good portrayal of her story condensed into five minutes.
Thoughts on Blake: she just had direct proof that her love put someone directly in danger. It wasnt that yang helped her, it was Adam specifically said that he would hurt whoever she loved. As you said shes young and traumatized and terrified. She is making dumb choices andSun is correct to call her out on it, but dont call her a b*tch because shes a traumatized teenager. Also i always find it interesting that reaction channels hate blakes part in morning follows night but love bad luck charm when bad luck charm could literally be blakes thought process about herself and its fine when qrow feels that way, a full adult, but not a teenager
@@kade3259 It's kind of insane honestly. He literally says he can't sympathize/like the character at all because "shes dumb and making stupid choices". News flash man. You're supposed to like and appreciate how she is grounded and is having a *realistic* response instead of a *perfectly ideal* response. Like don't get me wrong. I *did not like* Blake's choices by any means. And I agreed with him on my first viewing experience for a little bit because Yang was my favorite character and I felt like she did nothing but hurt her... And then we finally get the scene where Blake *finally* explains herself and it just recontextualized the entire season. All of this to say its crazy to me that he bitches because she doesn't have sympathy while ironicly having no sympathy for her perspective of the situation. She did behave like a child. But he's being really harsh.
Lusus naturae is a song from RWBY Grimm eclipse, the song is about a crazy scientist who did experiments on Grimm, you actually fight the results of them in Grimm eclipse, he's a game only villain
One thing you said is backwards the attraction between Yang and Blake at this point is more Yang's attraction to Blake. Blake isn't concerned with romance at this point but she did blush when Sun winked at her, so yea...
Before hearing the full version of the opening song, it's good. After hearing the full version of the opening song, it became my favorite , and still is.
Kuty here and a hello to you Beef! I've been excited for you to react to this OST for so long you have no clue I'm so glad you enjoyed Home like you did, it is one of my favourite songs from the show Hope you have a great day
One thing that annoys the fuck out of me is when people complain that Yang's depressed, and I'm just like "Yes, of course she's fucking depressed, her partner ran away, she lost a friend (pyrrha), and finally and most fucking obviously, SHE LOST HER FUCKING ARM", obviously she's gonna be depressed, what do they think she's gonna laugh after all that, it's far more realistic that she had to face those emotions.
Lusus Naturae is Latin I believe for “Freak of Nature,” it was a feature song from the game Grimm Eclipse, and is Salem’s teams Theme Song, it’s a fire 🔥 jam.
"You don't know what it's like, to live in shadows. Always regretting what you've done..." Beef: How do you know that? Well, in this case she's talking to Sun, not any generic person. Still wrong, but in this specific case she is pretty on point, Sun doesn't think like that.
YES, U GOT RUBY''S CARACTER RIGHT. I wouldn´t say she is pretending, but she choose to be inocent, to be THE LEADER. And push foward, changing the world around her. Putting everything first and herself second.
When you get to the volume 6 soundtrack, please listen to the acoustic version of "Armed & Ready". Most other reactors I've seen tend to skip it when listening to the soundtrack, but it's honestly really good and deserves a listen.
8:35 There is precedent for this. Neo wasn't part of the original story. She was a later addition. She was introduced after Monty saw some gender-swapped cosplays of Torchwick. Apparently the Maidens were not in the original concept either. Although I can't confirm if that is true. 30:05 One thing I love in storytelling which seems to be an unpopular opinion is when the protagonist characters who make big mistakes/makes terrible decisions/makes selfish decisions/doesn't consider all the consequences. I love it because that is the point of growth for that character. The have their mistakes that they can learn from. As for hating a character like that. That's what you're supposed to do. As the character redeems themselves you start to like them a little more over time until you come to love them. Or, the character doubles down on their bad decisions. Solidifying your hatred of them. Either way, it's character progression. 58:05 This Life is Mine is by far my most favourite song in the entire series. There are some amazing songs coming up in later OST's, but for me this is the best. Also, it's a epic dis-track. 1:28:52 By "her" in this context, they mean Ruby, not Blake. "Racing to her side" is refering to big sister wanting to be there for little sister. 1:32:19 It's a call-back to the Yellow trailer. 1:39:24 You're asking a question that there is an answer to. It's best that you don't know that answer yet. 1:40:05 The Grimm is the product of the god of destruction. They were created to destroy. Also Grimm were created before humans, so their purpose never changed when humans were introduced. A headcanon I have is that the gods are neither good, nor evil. Just dark and light. 1:43:00 You're trying to decypher a jigsaw puzzle that still has huge sections missing. Keep doing that. We'll see how right or wrong you are later. 1:43:40 I should point out at this point that this song isn't in the show itself. It's a song from the video game, from the perpective of the game's antagonist. TBH, I do prefer listening to your theorising about Salem than the game's antagonist. 1:43:55 That would depend on the circumstances Salem has found herself in.
Interesting fact about "Like Morning follows night", the snippet of it in what we heard on the show (the fight against the sea dragon) is what Jeff came up with at the time so it was unfinished, the rest of the song, he based it off of Sun and Blake's conversation. I hope you also include the remixes in future albums, I think they're great.
54:59 I find it so funny you managed to give a visually representation of This Life Is Mine without listening to it and how fitting that it was literally the next song too. (Just replace "their luck" with "their name" and its literally Weiss)
Oh and Blake and Qrow are basically kindred spirits/ very similar characters just for different reasons. They both feel responsible for the bad things that happen to the people they choose to be close to.
Lusus Naturae, lyrically is not about/from Salem. Good guess. The vocals apply to a character from RWBY: Grimm Eclipse while the instrumental is applied to both Salem and the rest of the Grimm. I will not elaborate anymore on this unless you wish for more context or play Grimm Eclipse yourself.
1:28:50 I don’t think it’s referring to Blake here at all. Yang’s eyes are open to how she’s been acting and treating things, and she’s now going after Ruby, who she had let run off without her. I also don’t think Yang has forgiven Blake for her abandoning them yet.
yes blake is being selfish, arrogant and childish but she is an 18/19 year old girl who has been abused most of her life and honestly I can understand her logic, I don't agree but her thought makes sense
Lusus Naturae is the theme of the game RWBY Grimm Eclipse's villain, who iirc (I've never played the game myself) wanted to control the Grimm Also the BMBLB song isn't canon
Qrow's semblance can be very useful, he said so himself. The problem is that while it CAN help, it WILL get in the way of his friends, so it's not a matter of not having a good side to it, it's a matter of the bad side being unavoidable even though the good side exists.
Regarding some of your comments in Lusus Natore, the plans of gods don’t have to be logical or sensible. They’re gods. The level of consequence to them is insignificant. Say it doesn’t work out because it’s a flawed plan? Oh well, lost that game, time to start a new one and see what happens next time. They’re playing sim city, it’s not high stakes
Lusus Nature has part of it's instrumental version in the nuckelavee fight(stretchy arms and horse Grimm at Ren's hometown). The lyrics version is, as other have said, from a RWBY videogame. It is not a Salem song, or about the plot of the show at all. You are correct; Lusus Nature is Latin for Natures Freak/Freak of Nature.
Shame you missed the variant of Boop that was on this track its upbeat violins. so are we doing Chibi season 2 or jumping into the 3 character shorts for Weis, Blake and Yang next?
Beef, literally the last thing that Adam said was I'm gonna kill everything you love. She feels like she is protecting her by not being around her. Cause if she was with Yang, she feels like Adam would come kill her.
At this point, he’s made his assessment about her currently. Nothing you say will change his mind just because as beef said himself. He’s a believer of optimism even to a fault, so her behavior in volume 4 stands out to him in an annoying way just how your annoyed by him invalidating her decision and feelings. Everyone is entitled to their own feeling about a character, negatively or positively. Regardless it’s character development. Edit: it is literally why in the second song you can see his eyes roll in annoyance whenever Blake sings her line and smiles whenever Sun spews his overwhelming positivity… In my own personal feeling I was also annoyed at his eye rolls towards Blake, judging OUR cat girl too harshly! She’s just doing what she think is the right choice, she’s young, afraid and misunderstood and ya kickin’ her while she’s down! Ahem anyways I’m moving on and subtly giving you the middle finger for throwin shade at Blake CAUSE I KNOW you will white knight anyone who throws shade at Yang (this is towards beef btw).
The Lusus Naturae isn't about Salem. It's about another character from the RWBY game, a mad scientist who's obsessed with Grimm and performs experiments on them to make them "perfect."
I don't think it matched Salem well at all, there are many lines in the song that ere very specific for the doctor (forgot his name, sorry), like: "They don't know, they don't understand! There's a goal, it's my master plan" "Grimm I will redeme"
blake leaving is sadly something i would have done when i was younger if i got the person i loved hurt like losing an arm i dont think i could be near them i would hurt to much and i would think that they deserve better them we i should not be in there life any more after what i did and bla bla bla but after i got older i see that that way of thinking is just selfish you dont want to see some one you like hurt so you dont look but you should your the reason it hapend so you should stick with it you should be there even if they dont want to
I support Sunblebee, Blake shouldn't have to choose, both Yang and Sun get along and could be a match and both of them want to be with Blake. They should all just be a thruple
Slightly disappointed you skipped the covers, but at least you said you'd come back to them. Just don't forget! Hmmm...maybe I'll put together a separate playlist of covers... 🤔 We'll see.
I love how he fails to understand the Bumblebee song is largely Yang to a void. We get it. You completely misunderstand Blakes character or reasons. Now you're just shitting on Yang's emotions though xD
"Call me sweetheart and I'll tear u apart, just call me "sir". " - Is about her trailer - Junior: "How's your name sweetheart?" Yang: "I have several but instead of sweetheart u can just call me "Sir" /*Nuts grab*/
He clearly gets it but disagrees. Just because her choices make sense from her perspective doesn't make them ideal. He can't express dissatisfaction with her less than ideal response to trauma? That shows he is invested in these characters.
Blake didn’t just abandon Yang in her time of need, she abandoned Yang after the really deep talk they had in season two where Yang explained how she had abandonment issues from her biological mother leaving her and her second mother dying. All of Blakes decisions make sense to me from a motivation/trauma standpoint, but it was super shitty.
weiss probably spent a LOT of time facing her mirror. you know, in her room? her mirror, and Klein. two reasonably friendly things in a house full of people. and only one of them she could talk to honestly, consistently. whenever she wanted.
1:51:30 onward: Something to keep in mind. Adam vowed to destroy everything and everyone Blake held dear literally seconds before maiming Yang. She ran for the same reason Qrow pushes his friends and family away - to protect them. Was it the right thing to do? No, of course not. But it doesn't mean she doesn't care. I think by the time she realized she messed up, she was already halfway to Menagerie. Also important to consider, do we know for sure how much of this song is Blake to Yang, and how much of it is Yang to Blake? Whoever edited the lyrics into the video highlighted the lyrics they thought belonged to each of them, but who's to say they're right? Just a few thoughts to consider. ^^
So Qrow's semblance causes bad luck to everyone around him in a certain radius, it doesnt matter whether they are friend or foe, and its a passive that only turns off when his aura is depleted. Also you cant really blame the man if he hasnt trained his semblance, because for all he/we know him training it will give people worse luck around him
combining who Blake IS, her past and her cat-nature, it should follow that being able to tell how much she loves someone can be...tricky. Whatever else may be going on, they're partners...and Blake Chose Yang(in the forest during their 'test'. she knew yang could have taken the grimm. the only reason to deal with it herself was to make sure their eyes met. Who can say why she chose the brash loudmouth, but there can be no question she did. quite deliberately. Only thing we can say for sure is that it was NOT to gain a Protector.
'sweetheart', 'sir'....how does this NOT make you think of her 'talk' with Junior in her trailer? I can call the picture of the scene in question to mind without effort. It was the clearest picture possible of just Who She Is...when not stepping back to make room for her little sis, of course. :)
So it's pretty clear that you don't understand Blake's mentality, even after she spelled it out. Blake cares deeply about Yang, but she blames herself for Yang getting hurt: Adam specifically targeted Yang because of Blake, he even said he was making it his life's mission to destroy everything that she loves "starting with her." She left because she figured that if she wasn't around her friends anymore, if they weren't trying to help her, then he would figure "guess she doesn't care about them anymore" and would go after her exclusively. Now was she being stupid and making a huge mistake? Absolutely, you definitely got that part right. Not only did that cause Yang additional emotional pain unnecessarily when she was going through so much already, but also Adam isn't stupid enough to fall for such an elementary school-level ploy. If he wanted he could have went to Yang's house, cut off her head, then mail it over to Blake at her parents' house. It's just lucky for everyone that Adam had bigger fish to fry, giving Yang the time she needed to recover. Now I'm glad that you got so much enjoyment from Armed and Ready. Of course I was rather amused when you called it Ruby's song to Salem. Of course now it seems like you understand that it's actually Yang's FU song to Adam, and it definitely encapsulates the emotional journey that she went through this season as well as her aspirations for the future. Honestly I think that the only thing that I like better than this is "Armed and Ready to Burn" which fuses "I Burn" with this one making it an extra-long anthem to Yang. So that's all for now, I'll be looking forward to your starting Volume 5.
Qrow semblence is more of a thing if somthing bad can happen like the guy at the crowbar smashed the glass he just incresses the chances of it happing like sure it could happen but he makes it more likely and then just apply that to every sernario
I think Qrow considers it bad luck because he can’t control it, as it’s more an area of effect, so whoever (friend or enemy) is physically close to him experiences bad luck. RWBY chibi has an episode about it that you might check out at some point.
to be fair, a lot of the dumb thought process can be do to her being a dumb teenager. We have all did and stated stupid shit that we even believed in when we were teens.
This life is mine is my I think second favorite Weiss song my first favorite isn't till the next volume. But I love them all. Sun is getting Blake through this whether she likes it or not and I love it 😂. Sun is a really good friend and I think Blake knows that she just well she's Blake 😅 love you girl but get it together for next vol pls your team needs you! Bmblb isn't canon buttttt it's my head canon 🥰 I loved bumblebee as a thing before even met sun and before I even knew they were a popular ship,it has been my favorite of the whole show besides Ren and Nora, I'd say jaune and Pyrrha but well 😬 they were good while they lasted. Guess I have the white knight ship as a back up. Also I had forgotten that Casey is a big fan of bumblebee and that's why it exists. Also canon or not I will agree currently I think you are right yang loves Blake and Blake doesn't currently feel that way about her, but we will have to wait and see if things change, I got your point though she shouldn't have just left without a word that was one of her biggest mistakes ever, but I'm glad blakes coming around slowly even if it's hard to see, I can't say she doesn't care though they were partners, really good friends, in a way they are a small family and I'm including team jnpr in that too, but she is a bit selfish in leaving without a word. Just my opinion ofc and not everyone agrees on everything I'm sure you understand. About the bumblebee stuff I don't want to make it sound like I'm hating on the blacksun ship just because I'm biased and love bumblebee don't mean I don't see that as a possibility I wouldn't care if they get together I just care about them more than the other in that way and everyone is entitled to who they like when it comes to shipping ect. You do you if you even ship characters in this show ship whoever it's just as valid to do so ^^. Home is a beautiful song I will agree. Yangs songs are always good I can't think of one that I hated for her at all so armed and ready goes hard. Lusus nature has been told in the comments about what it's from ect. Game song yada yada still a good song. God that was long sorry I'm rambling again but RWBY is just important to me and I like talking about it as much as possible ^^ hope you enjoy the next vols beef until next time 👋🏻.
If you think Weiss is best girl in season 4, well season 5 made her my favorite character in the series. Honestly I’ve always thought the mirror was a symbol for Jacques himself or at least his influence. It’s also been speculated that Whitleys allusion is Kai from The Snow Queen, who like Snow White also has a story involving a magic mirror . In The Snow Queen Kai gets shards of a magic mirror lodged in his eye, which causes him to be become closed off and cold to the people around him.
Man, you REALLY hate Blake. I understand your point and it was intentionally done for you (the audience) to disagree with her since her character arc is exactly about her learning to stop thinking like that. But still, you reacted a lot more strongly than anyone I've seen. It's funny because I'm a depressive pessimist myself, so while I definitely disagree with Blake here too, I feel a lot more pity for her being that way than any kind of dislike. I think she's wrong and her thought process is currently awful, but I can relate to how she feels. Well, I wonder how your opinion on her will change later on, since the whole point IS her getting over this, so I'm curious if you'll still dislike her or if you'll come around once she gets better and develops. You did start really liking Jaune and Weiss after all. You still hate Ironwood though, but that's absolutely understandable since he does in fact suck, despite not being exactly a bad guy. Ironwood is not a bad person, he's just a VERY faulty good person, which arguably makes him even worse than a bad person. He's that guy who's nice and good to be around, but believes is some horribly wrong ideals, and is unfortunately too stubborn for you to talk him out of. It's like when you have that one family member that is you do love, but he actually believes something like communism or flat earth. You can have a deep and lengthy discussion about it, completely disagreeing with each other, and he'll keep it respectful the entire way and it'll probably be a pretty good talk even, you'll come out of it in just as good terms you were coming in and you'll still think of him as family. But damn! He talked a LOT of BS. And yes, I know someone kinda like that. (I live in Brazil, political discussions here can get very nasty. Not that isn't true for everywhere, but as far as I know most places aren't quite as bad as here is currently. I mean, things are so bad that a ton of people straight up believe that the last election was cheated. But let's not get into politics please.) Great person in a casual environment, but I could disagree more with their views.
Man that picture of Qrow, Yang and Ruby is so fucking cute, I just love that theme of "when I'm with you I'm at home". I don't know if he's ever caused a miscarriage, and I don't know if this is canon or just really popular fanon, so take it with a pinch of salt, but apparently Qrow's semblance activated when he was born killing his mother, which is why he was called Qrow, since Crows are seen as Harbingers of Death. I love the pun that is "Armed and ready"
You're forgetting Blake is an abuse victim, and her thought processes are heavily influenced by Adam and him saying he would destroy everything she loved, specifically starting with Yang. Flawed logic, yes, but understandable.
Caleb Hyles does a cover of "This Life is Mine" that is absolutely incredible. It's not Casey, but damn. I highly recommend you go listen if you haven't already, because I've heard that Casey watched and loved his ending reaction. ua-cam.com/video/M8Gb_u-ODrU/v-deo.html I think.
That slide Beef showed briefly at the end of the video when he said he's saving the fan-made covers for a later video? I added that and two of Caleb's covers to this playlist specifically because every RWBY reactor needs to hear them. 😛 I'm a little disappointed Beef skipped them for now, but at least he said he's coming back to them later. I just hope he doesn't forget.
Your thoughs on Blake are very interesting, and i apreciate your point of view, how it fits into your outlook on life. I think it is harsh to say the thought process of someone experiencing pain at the moment is simply dumb. Yes it is irracional, it can be stupid, and sometimes the person themselves realizes it, i have thoughts like that and i KNOW they are irracional and harmfull, but KNOWING is not enough to change it. Pointing it out and calling it dumb and trying to rationalize it is not going to change how that person thinks. All we can do is like what Sun is doing. Be there, be patient, oferece suport while that person hells and start to become able to slowly change these harmfull thoughts. And i love seeing that on Blake. Trauma is ugly, it makes you do stupid things and think dumb thoughts and hurt people around you by accident. My favorite kind of stories are the ones that follow people healing from it
i think bumblebee might be my biggest problem with RWBY. Like you i love yang she is the best girl by a mile and they stuck her with Blake, boring bland as bread Blake and when you said it doesn't feel like Blake loves yang i 100% agree. plus yang chose to give Blake a chance when they first learned she used to be in the white fang a literal terrorist organization, and Blake couldn't even give Yang the benefit of the doubt when Mercury and Emerald framed her. Not to mention that after Yang lost her arm defending Blake the first thing Blake did was skip town honestly Blake is easily the worst member of the main cast. Anyways thanks for coming to my ted talk
This demonstrates total lack of understanding of Blake's character. Blake intentionally left knowing it would hurt Yang because she doesn't want Yang to follow her. She did it intentionally with the intention to hurt because she knows Adam isn't bluffing when he says he'll kill her.
Ok, not finished with the video yet, but I wanted to talk about some things, mainly regarding Blake and Sun and Yang. First off I WILL NOT DO SHIP WAR NONSENSE. But anyway, starting with Blake's mindset in volume 4. Yes, it's cowardly. Yes it's childish. Yes it's not healthy. AND she has faced significant trauma basically from domestic abuse since she was like 12. That WILL create an unhealthy mindset in someone that is VERY DIFFICULT to overcome. And when something emotionally traumatizing happens (like someone you care about loosing a limb protecting you from your abusive ex boyfriend who basically groomed you from when you were pretty young), a brain that has those unhealthy coping mechanisms will revert to those coping mechanisms first. And if you don't have the healthy ones developed yet, you can't really do anything else but the unhealthy ones. I'm not saying that how she handles things is good or right. I'm saying that given her character and her trauma, it makes perfect sense. Anyway, regarding the whole Yang vs Sun thing. I prefer Yang for reasons. But, if Sun were to be the one to end up with Blake, I'd be happy. I'd be very happy. Why? I LOVE Sun. He is a BEAUTIFUL character that everyone needs in their life. I also think that he is a wonderful representation of non-toxic masculinity and I have a ton of respect for him in regards to that. I'm not going to get into why I like Yang better for Blake for 2 reasons. 1) I refuse to engage in ship war nonsense, and 2) a lot of my reasoning has not happened yet for Beef, and I don't want to spoil anything. Ok, I've voiced those thoughts now, Imma go back to enjoying the video.
Also, crow has been through a lot with his semblance. Why do you think he's a drunk he's always alone because of his semblance. It's literally just there he can't do nothing about it. Bad luck to anyone around him. I'm not gonna lie. I'm kind of a little annoyed of how far off you got with the message they were going for that was clear and sorry I mean nothing by it 😁
Yeah... i think you just couldn't see things from Blake's (as a stand in for any person going through stuff) perspective... not saying her choices were right at all, she is most definitely wrong... just saying you are expecting the person who just went through a traumatic event to suck it up and do what has to be done without even taking a while to wrap her head around it... the people who she used to believe in came into her still being created new home "looking for her" (as far as she can see, not that that was it) bringing HER personal baggage into her new friends life, and one of them ended up having her arm, the main thing she uses to be a huntress, cut off FOR HER... She CAN feel like it was her fault and everything and everyone she cares about might be dragged into something equally as bad if she is around... she needs time to understand what is going on... can bad things happen in that time... sure... but people can't be expected to overcome everything right after it happens, that is unrealistic... so far we just saw her go through that for 2 or 3 episodes... the rest of the volume was focused on other poeple and places...
Black Sun is a guaranteed ship even if it ends up Bumblebee because Yang is also equivalent to the Sun just like Sun Wukong is…her name is literally (Sunny Little Dragon) she and Sun are both Sun to Blake. Blake literally just has to pick one ☝️ or both 🤷🏻♂️ it’s up to them…and if any of them want kids in the future to carry their family name on. Just saying.
I think it’s hard for some people to understand Blake. But the way I see her, running away and being selfish could be called her “fatal flaw”. And throughout the series she has to recognize the problem, and take steps to fix herself. I find that in the end Blake’s character arc can be just as compelling as Weis’s.
Except she wasn't being selfish. Adam was literally trying to kill everyone she loved. He wasn't bluffing. It was the only thing she knew to do to escape the wrath of her abuser.
@@Hooploops777 i’m just wondering if their first kiss will be more emotional or happy filled tbh. i feel like that’ll change the tone of whatever song they play during it
on Blake. people are dumb. all of us. we make mistakes, we blame ourselves, we blame each other. she did all the wrong things. some people just shut down when they dont know what to do. some run. My fiance, love her to death, cannot handle stress well. sometimes not at all. You are right that what blake did was dumb and wrong. i wouldnt have done what she did either. but there have been times ive done the wrong thing, knowingly so, and still convinced myself i had reason. yes what she did was selfish. but it can be heard to reflect on yourself in the moment.
I understand what you're saying about Blake, and I agree with you about the stupidity of her way of thinking, but I do want to point out that she was basically groomed in an abusive relationship by someone who made her feel small and vowed to destroy everything she loves. Her way of thinking isn't good by any stretch of the imagination, however I think at this point she's still trying to figure out what it means to have friends and loved ones who genuinely care for her as a person, rather than what she can do for them. I love that Sun is basically trying to deprogram her and show her genuine friendship. Love your reactions!
You have no idea how mental health works. Now I'm not disputing that running away is the wrong thing to do and is selfish. But as someone who has similar mental issues, it's not as easy as you say it is to just realize that it isn't her fault. That little voice in my head sometimes does not let up telling me that people will hate me and blame me for my mistakes over and over, and sometimes it is debilitating. Yes it can be hard to deal with people like that and the behavior is selfish, but to hear that it's something so simple and can just be gotten over is way oversimplifying the problem. Also, that's a part of mental health issues, they cause you to act or think of things that are wrong or irrational. Now, of course, she should be held accountable for her behavior and face consequences, but not the way you are saying and not with the misguided thought that everything is so simple to do. Besides that I love your reactions and the rest of your comments. Please don't think I am trying to attack you or anything, I just think you are oversimplifying a very difficult problem.
I know it's a show but I really can't watch the way you act towards Blake, It brings me really painful memories and makes me wanna punch my screen. Attacking someone into getting better is never a good idea, they need time to rest, some love (which is why Sun is there ) and screaming at them and just waiting for them to get better is absolutely not the way to go about it. Again I know it's a cartoon and it's not real. But your words sounds real familiar to me. However I don't want you to think I'm in any way angry or passive agressive with you or anything like that in this comment. Just have some empathy with her, that's all I ask :)
I love how Blake is basically an introvert and both Sun and Yang are the extroverts who have adopted her lol.
I love her growth in this show no spoilers but thinking about season 3 Blake to season 9 it’s just so great
And the fact that it was in their name too. Sun with namesake and Yang as mandarin for the sun.
@@AshunPhubu i mean, the subtext has always been there, who knows?
The "call me sir" and "strawberry sunrise" in Armed and Ready are from the Yellow trailer! Great reaction as always!
And of course, the guy that Yang told to call her sir was nicknamed "Junior", so it was probably her punning on junior - senior.
Qrow kinda is just constantly, unconsciously casting a “Murphy’s law” field around him (except when it would be *too* inconvenient for the plot)
Cleaning your glass at the bar?
This Life is Mine, aka, The "Fuck You, Dad" Anthem.
51:36
Qrow explained it himself:
“Comes in real handy when fighting oppenents”
So yes, his misfortune is bound to everyone around him, wether they’re on his side or not.
There is no way to predict if it will happen to the person he cares about or the enemy he is facing though, it’s completely random and ALWAYS active.
Its basically: ‘if something CAN go wrong, it WILL go wrong’
Wether it’s helpful to him or not doesn’t matter, bad luck is bad luck.
Its more personalised, there is no “if this is bad luck for them its good luck for me”, its ONLY “its bad luck for them”
The latter part isn’t taken into account at all, its simply personal bad luck on everyone in his vicinity.
"including himself"
Incorrect, it only affects those around him. He IS the bad luck charm. He's not unlucky himself.
I think it's safe to say Qrow's semblance does NOT affect him, it only affects others.
Slight spoilers:
The only two times I remember seeing Qrow himself be unlucky are in Chibi and when playing a board game with Clover.
1:21:16 "Considering bad luck is Qrow's thing, do you think he's ever caused a miscarriage?"
I think Qrow would risk his life to get as far away from any pregnant woman he might come across, the man would NEVER let himself near one and risk that shit.
I always interpreted it that the Mirror was one being held up by Jacques, displaying the version of her that HE wanted her to be.
One really tragic thing I feel with Qrow is, anytime anything bad happens to someone around him, he is going to blame himself for it. Even if his semblance had nothing to do with it.
Yeah, you can't mesure what was caused by his semblance and what wasn't after all.
Thank you, this is exactly how I felt and I think beef is being short sided and non sympathetic that it is hindering my viewing experience
Yes! "Let's Just Live" is my favorite OP
Before hearing the full version of the opening song, it's good. After hearing the full version of the opening song, it became my favorite , and still is.
Kuty here and a hello to you Beef!
I've been excited for you to react to this OST for so long you have no clue
I'm so glad you enjoyed Home like you did, it is one of my favourite songs from the show
Hope you have a great day
i literally play "Home" every night to lullaby me to sleep.
31:54 he said it! People will hate you for that one, but you are completely right, Black sun is earned, Bumblebee is not.
this couldn’t be farther from the truth !! but sure
Lusus Naturae is Latin I believe for “Freak of Nature,” it was a feature song from the game Grimm Eclipse, and is Salem’s teams Theme Song, it’s a fire 🔥 jam.
"You don't know what it's like, to live in shadows. Always regretting what you've done..."
Beef: How do you know that?
Well, in this case she's talking to Sun, not any generic person. Still wrong, but in this specific case she is pretty on point, Sun doesn't think like that.
YES, U GOT RUBY''S CARACTER RIGHT. I wouldn´t say she is pretending, but she choose to be inocent, to be THE LEADER. And push foward, changing the world around her. Putting everything first and herself second.
She's less pretending and more putting up a front.
It is a mask, but not a lie.
When you get to the volume 6 soundtrack, please listen to the acoustic version of "Armed & Ready". Most other reactors I've seen tend to skip it when listening to the soundtrack, but it's honestly really good and deserves a listen.
I don't know if someone else wrote about this part of the lyrics but
Move
Onward
Not
There
Yet
Yeah It hurts still
Move Onward, Not There Yet
(MONTY)
1:36:21 this song is about a corrupt doctor who was mutating and changing Grimm in their one video game
Luicus notre was the end credits of the game RWBY Grim Eclipse as if sung by the main villain who experimented on grim to make them stronger
46:42 bad luck charm
They both feel responsible for the bad things that happen to the people they choose to be close to.
accept Qrow's semblance can quite literally be responsible for bad things happening to people he's close to.
@@leviathan1082 well.... Yea....
I also don’t think Yang has forgiven Blake for her abandoning them yet.
yes blake is being selfish, arrogant and childish
but she is an 18/19 year old girl who has been abused most of her life
and honestly
I can understand her logic, I don't agree
but her thought makes sense
Lusus Naturae is the theme of the game RWBY Grimm Eclipse's villain, who iirc (I've never played the game myself) wanted to control the Grimm
Also the BMBLB song isn't canon
Bmblb may not be canon but it's my head canon lol
@@lavilygalaxy4541 same
Qrow's semblance can be very useful, he said so himself.
I think it’s used in a few places when focused on Grimm… It’s like a Grimm theme
Lusus naturae can also be translated as "mockery of nature", which fits the Grimm pretty well.
Yang Gang here again
Edit: it is literally why in the second song you can see his eyes roll in annoyance whenever Blake sings her line and smiles whenever Sun spews his overwhelming positivity…
In my own personal feeling I was also annoyed at his eye rolls towards Blake, judging OUR cat girl too harshly!
55:00 Ask, and you shall receive: 1:01:04
The Lusus Naturae isn't about Salem. It's about another character from the RWBY game, a mad scientist who's obsessed with Grimm and performs experiments on them to make them "perfect."
It may not be about Salem originally but it still matches for her very very well.
I don't think it matched Salem well at all, there are many lines in the song that ere very specific for the doctor (forgot his name, sorry), like:
"They don't know, they don't understand! There's a goal, it's my master plan"
"Grimm I will redeme"
Lusus Naturae was actually from the video game Grimm Eclipse, about the games antagonist believing Grimm could be controlled.
Move onward;
not there yet, so
Let's Just Live!
#BeefisKing
Lusus Naturea is from the game Grim eclipse.
This Life Is Mine is really one of the best RWBY songs of all time. And this show has some BANGERS.
Honestly this has some of my fav songs in the whole show
Leessss goooooo
blake leaving is sadly something i would have done when i was younger if i got the person i loved hurt like losing an arm i dont think i could be near them i would hurt to much and i would think that they deserve better them we i should not be in there life any more after what i did and bla bla bla but after i got older i see that that way of thinking is just selfish you dont want to see some one you like hurt so you dont look but you should your the reason it hapend so you should stick with it you should be there even if they dont want to
I support Sunblebee, Blake shouldn't have to choose, both Yang and Sun get along and could be a match and both of them want to be with Blake. They should all just be a thruple
Them forming a polyamory relationship is an option I can agree with, though I doubt the writters would actually do so
Crow causes bad luck to everyone around him. He said it comes in handy against him enemies but when his team is around, he can get them killed.
You're just really not grasping Blake's character at all. Like there's a fundamental misunderstanding of her motives and goals.
The mirror is Jacque’s influence on Weiss.
So Qrow's semblance causes bad luck to everyone around him in a certain radius, it doesnt matter whether they are friend or foe, and its a passive that only turns off when his aura is depleted. Also you cant really blame the man if he hasnt trained his semblance, because for all he/we know him training it will give people worse luck around him
Ah yes, 'This Life is Mine', aka 'Mirror Mirror part 3'
combining who Blake IS, her past and her cat-nature, it should follow that being able to tell how much she loves someone can be...tricky.
qrow is saying it's bad for him to STICK AROUND. something 'saving people' do not require.
Time stamp for each song pls
Oh yeah Bumblebee is a Very tóxic relationship
And it's ALL Blake fault
Yang is Just down bad for Blake like every character in blake's histori
we NEED a RWBY Chibi season 2 reaction
My favorite kind of stories are the ones that follow people healing from it
Uncle here
i think bumblebee might be my biggest problem with RWBY.
She did it intentionally with the intention to hurt because she knows Adam isn't bluffing when he says he'll kill her.
tell me you don’t understand these characters without telling me lmfaoo
_sunnybees_ _enjoyer_ _I_ _see_ 😏
I think it’s hard for some people to understand Blake.
I know that BMBLB isn't canon but my headcanon is that it was a dream that Yang had
We better get that song when we get our kiss 😭
@@Hooploops777 i’m just wondering if their first kiss will be more emotional or happy filled tbh. i feel like that’ll change the tone of whatever song they play during it
@@S0LAVELLANHELL the mood better be happy 😭
rwby chibi s2 when?
I would describe RWBY as family, not by blood, but I think they genuinely love and care for each other.
More RWBY Chibi
on Blake. people are dumb. all of us. we make mistakes, we blame ourselves, we blame each other. she did all the wrong things. some people just shut down when they dont know what to do.
Please don't think I am trying to attack you or anything, I just think you are oversimplifying a very difficult problem.
tbf nobody likes ANYTHING about youtube
Blake more love interest by existing than Jaune will ever have while trying.
Just have some empathy with her, that's all I ask :)
chill bro wtf
