You rock! This video saved Christmas. I bought my son this Coleman gocart but the engine wouldn't start. I bought a predator engine and used the tips from this video to do an engine swap the next day! You saved me a ton of time, money, and frustration!!!
Enjoyed your video, did the exact same swap this am. I opted to install the Coleman gas tank on the new predator engine to retain the petcock and have the ability to shut off the gas.
Man i did this exact swap but for some reason the axel sprocket doesn't line up with the other spocket.... can't figure out what im doing wrong. Seems like the engine isn't over far enough. Wondering if I should redrill the engine mount bolts to move it over and line up. Send help!
Just picked up a coleman cart for 1/3 the price today with a locked up engine from tractor supply. Not sure how they ended up with it this way, but I think this vid shed some light on what might be wrong before I even try to take it apart. Predator in the works already. Thanks for posting.
Yep moved to Michigan bought my son a go-kart built him a dirt track in the backyard and well now the go-kart just sits in the garage because well it's pretty much jump, made a junk and my son keeps asking me when am I going to fix it when am I going to fix it and they're not cheap
It's a known fact that Predator was knock off to the Honda...but now there is an engine that is just a knock off of the Briggs that is showing up on push mowers...so Chonda or Chriggs...it's the new world order....
Thanks for another nice video. I noticed that on 18.59 on the time line the main axle was bent. That could be why the chain gets tight and loose. You were right Coleman should have stuck to the lanterns. Just a piece of China junk with their name on it. Absolutely no quality control going on with that product. The plastic cam gear is another joke. I guess most of the manufacturers are doing it now. BAD MISTAKE! Guess I am getting too old and keep remembering the old B&S solid cast timing gears that ran forever. This is what happens when you send all of our manufacturing overseas. Trying to save a few dollars and we lose most of our American manufacturing jobs and get poor quality on the goods we now purchase. It's our fault. The funny thing is we send excellent CNC machines to China like the American Built HAAS and they still can't get it right????
That engine is a Honda clone ( Chinese ) and the parts are all over ! Amazon sells the upgrade metal gear and gaskets and some with new valves for around $30 ! I believe a Briggs will fit if it’s # 793880 on the gear or several other #’s will work with this # ! That 3hp is the same engine as the 212 you installed , both clones ! China mass produced those and stuck different names on them , before at HF it was a greyhound and there’s Carol/Steam and yes Briggs all are copies of Honda ! Recarb and an aluminium flywheel and delete the governor and it WILL scream ! I’ve done many of those engines sorry Mengines ! Lol

I can tell you the preditor swap from Harbor Freight is still running today. Thanks for watching
It's a Coleman. That's the problem. Had to take back 2 Coleman mini bikes because they kept breaking. You can't get parts either.
Definitely learned a lot about coleman quality.

Thanks for the info as always Gene. You are a wealth of knowledge. Thanks for watching
Great video!

Another fine modification! Gotta make it work!!
You got that right!
Thanks for another nice video.

I've never purchased a predator motor myself although I know some that have and they really like them.
so far so good.
I have 2 , 6 hp horizontal very good for me .
Does that mengine run on alcohol or nitomethane?
The Coleman runs on hopes and dreams and poor engineering.
@@Michaelsbackyardmarina 🤣
About $1,500 at tractor supply center . Way to much money .
Agreed
Mine did the same thing
coleman cart motors are not very good for sure.

Thanks for the tip on the Mengine repair. Thanks as always Dave for watching.
I like it. I bet you could find a metal sprocket to make the other one work. It would make another good video and get rid of that cheap plastic part👍
Thanks for the tip
Coleman should be embarrassed by this. If they don't get in contact with you. I would think they SUCK
They are not responsive so far. Thanks for watching
@@Michaelsbackyardmarina not till they find your video
Just got mine for $200
nice
Wow that's just nut's you would think they can do better then that. I no you can fix that
If we can come up with a cam, then for sure I can fix it.
【from HIPA】are you interested in testing my parts for your machines?
I don't have the old motor. My friend took it with him
@@Michaelsbackyardmarina hi friend,if you need any parts in the future, pls contact me.I will send it to you. Thanks a lot.
Foreign crap. Needs a good Briggs or Kohler engine.
agreed
Do you have a business doing repair work and resales ? I f you don`t, you should !
I only repair my own stuff and then sell what I don't want to keep.

Sure does.
