i just missed out on a distinction in on my solo performance exam because of my problem of not having the licks mixed in enough :x so thanks for the advice. hopefully ill get that distinction next term :p
You know,I learnt a thing or two here,so for that alone I say thank you very much Justin, this is a pretty cool lesson. And you've presented it well, clear, easy to get.And what's even better is the 'language' and 'playing' all at once to give it a kind of seamless quality or feel to it all. Very cool, cheers J.
justin thank man, this lesson really helped me w my rhythum playing! im always concentrating on lead and let my rhythum game slack, so thank you.....God Bless you mate
not a style I play, but as always, I will pratice it just because its a "justin lesson' in arkansas they play alot of bluegrass. bet you can play with the best of them. ty justin
Good lesson as usual but if I can offer some feedback, it's always makes it easier to learn when you've started off the lesson by playing what you're about to teach. Usually you do and it makes everything after that seem easier to comprehend.
WOW. It's been a looong time since I watched your videos. I am SO excited about getting back into the swing of practicing again. THANK YOU for still being here, Justin. I think i'd be lost without ya ;) -Rochelle Simply Natural Ideas
Great stuff. As a result just been looking for a lesson on savoy brown standing in a doorway. Sounds like a great slide starter piece. Perhaps Justin could consider this.
@siyomai Well maybe a little, since he is 51 years old now and first got started with Zappa when he was 19. But he still has a long way to go. Or at least I hope! What a great guy he is too. Both of them, Steve and Justin.
would you recommend this lesson for an acoustic guitar ??? despite in an acoustic one is much harder to play it, it might loose that slow blues atmosphere... what do you think ?
@Sennanchie and @siyomai What a great arguement. No fighting, no name calling, no stupidity. That's rare on UA-cam, everytime someone disagrees with something you say, it becomes a fight.
Ladies and gentlemen, this guy actually had the wonderful privilege of interviewing the late and great Steve Vai!!! That's pretty damn bitchin' in my book! Right on Justin! I'm so jealous!
back up--- the ninth is the same as the 2nd! G A B C D E F# G A B C D E F# G ---- try counting from G as 1 and go to 3 (hint: it's B) and now count from G as 1 all the way to 9, you'll see it's A.

zenyricardo I'm just over a year into playing guitar and I can do this on an acoustic. Why? Because I focus heavily on rhythm guitar. I can bare play a pentatonic scale but I can certainly do this

Justin, thanks for another great lesson. For me the part that rings through the most was between 8:00 and 9:30. Thanks again.
Great little tricks for the bag. You not only teach but pepper all your lessons with some truly sage advice. Thanks, Justin!
This man is a god! Been following you for 5 years justin!

Thanks Justin, your lessons have helped an average guitarist improve tremendously. Thanks again.

Great teacher
very nice lesson!!!
GREAT JOB !
Great lesson! One question: how would I play this in different keys instead of only in G? I love this stuff so much:p
@Sennanchie Vai may be great, but he is not yet late. Justin very helpful by the way.
Thanks man!
AWESOME!!!!!!!!
is it just me or you said "blues lead guitar course"?:P thanks a lot for all your work Justin!you're the man!
What an amazing lesson! Does anyone know any artists with that style of rhythm that he's showing us first?
I completely agree with bbqwhaat. Could you please play the demo before the instructional? Thanks.

@mwatland The adverts are random and are not controlled by Justin. Complain to google. it's part of offering a free service.
@GratefulJWB
AdBlock Pro plugin in firefox, and there aren't any ads :-)
Was it deliberate to have your amp off during the demo at the end?
@zenyricardo come on man.. I've been playing for 3 years too, and if I nail this acousticly without a doubt, you can do it easily on electric
"that the way to work a new lick into your bag" .
Dang justin = p
@Sennanchie yeah but when you say late then your saying that the guy is dead. Like the late Micheal Jackson. But your right their both great. :)
Stormy Mondady!
Ladies and gentlemen, this guy actually had the wonderful privilege of interviewing the late and great Steve Vai!!! That's pretty damn bitchin' in my book! Right on Justin! I'm so jealous!
yo Justin can you do an African American gospel guitar lesson?
As always... Great Lesson and great advice :) :)
You have band?
sounds very much like The Allman Brothers Band ;)
Tops
@zenyricardo perhaps because you've only been playing for 3 years?
@manz92 me too!!! ^^
@siyomai Oh no... I guess we have different interpretations of that. He is far from dead! I just meant "late" as in later on in his career is all.
@Sennanchie Oh I see. Sorry for the misinterpretation. LOL.
hopefully you donated by now ;)
Delicious.
couold it be called..a third chord, because 9th is basically a 3rd?
IGarrettI technically yes, but i think its called the 9th because you take it from the second octave
back up--- the ninth is the same as the 2nd!
G A B C D E F# G A B C D E F# G ---- try counting from G as 1 and go to 3 (hint: it's B) and now count from G as 1 all the way to 9, you'll see it's A.
Sounds as if some opiated bluesman played it. Nice.
why are there Phineas and Ferb video's in the related video list?

Hey Justin!
I don't mean to be a hater but didn't Riffoftheweek do this? Or a lesson like this?

I play like BB King!
"Chain lightning, it feels so good!"

How come it sounds like shit when I do it? And I've been playing for 3 years. Oh ok this man is jesus in disguise.
zenyricardo I'm just over a year into playing guitar and I can do this on an acoustic. Why? Because I focus heavily on rhythm guitar. I can bare play a pentatonic scale but I can certainly do this
Very groovey and not that hard.
