Even though he grew up in church he's not considered a gospel drummer at all though...he can play it though
He knows where his sound comes from....and play any style authentically...
Gospel guys are known to be very limited....like for example gospel guys can play fusion VERY easily but can't play straight ahead.
Ronald can do both.... :)

I love this guy,but before you young drummers go ape shit, get the basics, because I don't care how fast you can play, that shit only works for certain situations and they are few and far between! Know where the pocket is and you will work more than a super chops guy, trust me!

the only thing you could take away from this guy is from using the generic technique vs. musicality argument. Does the amount of technique he has, which is superseded by no one alive, impede his musicality? I don't know, but I think that is the only question that could be asked. His ability technically is ridiculous.
