    You are so so good at this. My one and only gripe is that there is no pause between the two narratives. it goes from imperial to nurgle without any break at all, and can be a little hard to keep up with which part of the narrative I'm at sometimes. But seriously, you rock at this. Thanks for all the hard work

      I agree on both counts. Great reading, sometimes hard to understand when the narrator changes. Really enjoying getting into 40k lore with these stories, great stuff!

      I kind of liked that there were no pauses. Especially when as the writer segued from one perspective to the other. The lack of a pause made me feel as if the two related but opposite events were occurring simultaneously.

    Imperial guard stories are what i enjoy the most as if you think about it… it’s EXTREMELY unlikely ANY of us would end up space marines or even get the chance to die trying. We (as in everyone reading this) would most likely end up dead in a hive city or shitting ourselves on the front line somewhere on a world that gets a side mention in a Tyranid 40k novel.

      Tbf even if we were Guardsmen the chances of being deployed against Chaos Marines, Dark Eldar reavers, a Tyranid hive, Necron awakening or a full on Ork WAAAGGGGH! is actually pretty low.
      Most of the time you're gonna be fighting Chaos or non Chaos human rebels/cultists/insurgents those can be anything from full fledged Chaos cults conducting acts of terrorism and mass sacrifices across a system or rouge Sector Governors attempting to break away or reform the Imperium to set up a democratic goverment.
      Or it'll be against the various non Big Bad random Xenos species the Imperium genocides on a weekly basis which usually consists of primitive tribes, Space pirates or small alien empires.
      And against either of these the Guard absolutely stomps them, statistically it's only an unlucky few Guards that have to face down the more powerful horrors of the Galaxy.
      80% of the total Imperial Guard is realistically either on garrison duty on secured worlds or doing something remarkably similar to what Coaltion troops were doing in Afghanistan recently acting as security forces on worlds undergoing insurgencies.

    • @Schwarzvogel1

      Never encountered a narrator whose voice was "too deep." But there are plenty of men, and even quite a few women whose voices are too high-pitched for one to easily take them seriously.
      In fact, just about every annoying or irksome voice tends to be higher-pitched. Fortunately, WyvernAudio has a rather stately-sounding, stentorian voice which makes him pleasant to listen to.

    It would help scene transitions a lot if you paused for a breathe after a passage ends

    • @WyvernAudio
      @WyvernAudio  2 роки тому +2

      A fair point, and something I'm still getting the hang of. Many have told me that my natural reading pace seemed too slow - in which I've adjusted to reducing the silences in post since "Gauntlet Run". I will increase the transition times after my most recent post going forward. I will admit, the faster pace often leaves me rarely capable of listening to my own audiobooks except for editing purposes.
