Great video. You might want to list some specs (like barrel length, twist rate, type of sights, etc.), where you bought it/who made it, and if anything special was done to achieve excellent ignition times. I am curious about your use of double-set trigger. I noticed you set the trigger at the half-cock. I always set the trigger after I pull to full cock, when I'm ready to shoot. I didn't even know it could be set at half-cock. Do you know if this is just a matter of personal preference, or if one process dominated in certain regions, the other in other areas, or if one is more modern, and the other traditional/historically correct?
@TXGRunner it's a .58 cal, "Virginia" rifle, with a 44 in, swamped barrel. I'm not sure on the twist rate, it has standard sights. The double trigger on this is set before placing the weapon at full cock, which as I understand is an earlier style of double set triggers.
Very interesting video
Beautiful rifle. I'm in southeast Louisiana. It's always good to find other southerners into shooting flintlocks and historic reenactment.
@BayouBlackPowder yes! We have history from before the Civil War!! If only the rest of the nation knew that.
Huuuuyyyyyyyyyyyy huuuufffffffffffff que bien 👌👍 hermosura de escopeta de bancarga
Your rifle appears to have a very fast lock time! Congratulations.
Agreed. I'm very impressed: it's instantaneous, like it should be.
@ my Kibler southern mountain rifle is my fastest flintlock . Yours might be quicker. Who made your lock ? What touch whole system are you using?
That's a fine Flintlock! Good video. I subscribed to your channel.
