I bought the metric plans yesterday. Perfect timing as my new shed needs a workbench.

I like the idea, but I probably need to hang out in the wall and fold it down when I am ready to work.
It looks like this design idea might work if I can figure out the legs / bracing. Swappable tops means I could use it for woodworking it for reloading ammo, and hang the extra tops on the wall next to it...

Just found your channel and love the clear no nonsense approach! I was looking for tips to build my own bench on a small budget and with limited space and your new plan for the Versatile Woodworking Bench seems perfect. Could you give me a rough idea what the budget would be to build it?

Thanks🙂. The bench itself was around $100. The MFT top was cheap to build, around $40.For the complete build, you should budget for $200, including materials, a vice and hardware.

@@EricSorensenCanada Finally getting round to starting on the bench based on the metric plans I bought from you a few weeks ago. You mention plywood of 19 and 12,7 mm in the plans. Over here it's 18 and 12 mm. Would that make anything not fit once I get everything cut to size?

    • @EricSorensenCanada

The plans can be followed within a 2mm tolerance, so your lumber should be fine. That said, I suggest you start with the main table box construction first, then the feet and legs, then the accessories like the front ledge and MFT top. You'll know if you have to adjust any of your dimensions once the main box top is built.

@@EricSorensenCanada So I should not have all of the parts cut to size first? I was hoping not having to make the trip to the sawmill more than once since it's not exactly nearby...
