This is the new Ford Bronco!
It’s an almighty, All-American off-roader and Mat’s taking it for a test drive to see if it really lives up to the hype!
For starters, there’ll be no mistaking it for another car, thanks to the huge BRONCO badge up front. Not only that, but the boxy style & shape are instantly recognisable as Ford’s well-known off-roader.

The reason for the cheap materials on the interior is the same reason for all the seats to be manually adjusted, because it has floor drains and is made to be able to be sprayed out with a hose to rinse the dirt away.

9:50 a possible reason for NO PLASTIC covers is that, if such a vehicle is used in wet off-road terrain. Then water could accumulate under the covers thus speeding up corrosion.

Those hooks on the hood are not only for tie downs, but for running lines to the corners of the roof. This is to push branches and debris away from the windshield when on trails, protecting the driver and vehicle.

The two bits sticking up either side on the front of the bonnet are for attaching wires to them, then up to the attachment point on the roof or to the roof rack, the idea is that it will then deflect any tree branches etc off the bonnet and windscreen, just in case the trail gets narrow. :)

I test drove it at my local dealership here in the states and I had SO MUCH FUN. The turbo V6 is stout imo, it's big, beautiful, and have road presence. Can't wait to see what the Bronco R will look like

With stock tires on 4 door version of Defender against optional bigger tires for 4 door version of Bronco, Bronco is a better off-roader than Defender as you can see in the video below, but Defender is definitely more luxurious and enjoyable outside off-roading, while Wrangler is more akin to agricultural tool/pure off-roader, as was the original Land Rover Defender with not so much to offer in terms comfort or exceptional road worthiness but it is smaller and more nimble for off-road and tight old town infrastructure... ua-cam.com/video/391AsASvmi8/v-deo.html

This is a true offroader and has a stunning design

wow, those prices are crazy. A Bronco here in Canada starts at 40k CAD and you can get one for 50-52k well equipped. 50k is £30k.

Not quite. They’d need a Dodge diesel to complete the look.
Hooks at top front of vehicle are tie downs but also useful for branch deflection by means of attaching a cable between the tie downs and the roof rack to protect your windsheild from protruding obstacle at the sides.
Quite difficult choice, we all know the Land Rover will break down continuously, but the Ford looks cheaper. At least you will look rich waiting for LR assist next to the road.

Great video! I loved the ‘coffee cup’ hands! My mate has no hands and he will be learning to drive in a year or so. It’ll be interesting to see whether he can operate the ‘normal’ heater, infotainment, window, light etc. controls. Just a thought, maybe consider a video for people with physical disabilities who can still legally drive. Which ‘normal’ family cars work best for those with, for example, no hands (stumps instead). He’s a massive fan of yours Mark and loves when you race against Yanni. Keep up the great work guys!👌

I'm from Arizona and living in Texas. We wear cowboy hats in our full size trucks not Broncos and Jeeps. We wear them to protect from the sun while we work on the ranch. We don't have the dreary drizzly weather you have. But, Mat does wear the hat well. Cheerio

Those tie points on the hood/bonnet are for cables that also attach to the roof so, when branches fall in the woods, they dont crush/scratch your windshield.
At first I thought this might be a successor to my old Grand Vitara soft-top....... but not so much. The GV was cheap and relatively economical for its day, whilst still being very capable off road. I'll just have to hope Dacia will take a can-opener to the Duster, like the old one from the 80s.
This one is cheap too. Standard popular crossover pricing.

I love what Matt said about the window switches, every single car reviewer are God damn lazy and generic in their response say that the window switches are not on the door because you can take the doors off, but if you take out door you still not going to use that switch, He really critizes vehicles and he is not trying to sell you the car like others he really goes in detail and explains all the negatives, like Mercedes off set steering he was the only person who pointed that out too me and no one else even noted this not even Doug Demuro
The switches not being on the door means that there is less wiring going through the door, (less complexity means a smaller and less complex wiring link can be used where to doors separate from the car) so making it easier to remove the doors. The other reviewer presumably already knew this and figured the audience would know as well. whereas Matt did not do his homework, the same reason why he did not know what the two bits on the bonnet was for either.
@@RobG001 - Also, if the switch was on the doors there would need to be constant 12V (IGN) power on the door jamb. Potential issue shorting out fuses if someone poked around in the connector. Or, more probably, plugged in accessories, since off-roaders always want to add insane amounts of things like lighting bars.

Tabs on the hood are for tying cables from them to the roof, so when driving through the woods, branches will be pushed up and over the roof.

But it’s not as heavy and a Bronco isn’t a sports car

The white plastic tube is for filling up with a gas can because there is no gas cap and to get more storage height there is a lever near the left side of the rear window that you press and then there is a bar to hold the rear window part

I went in a range rover for the first time the other day, they're not very big on the inside, it actually felt a little cramped in there even compared to my old S-Max.

Throw the auxiliary anchors out the back to improve braking. They're in the pockets either side of the trunk. Can you fit a larger motor under the hood?
