- Bele Obbattu/Holige is perhaps one of the most popular sweet dishes across Karnataka, Kerala and Tamilnadu with at most significance in some of the festivals such as Varamahalakhmi pooja, Ugadi, Onum etc. Requires only a few ingredients and rich in fat/oil it is a dish one can't resist :-)
Ingredients:
Toor Dal/ತೊಗರಿ ಬೇಳೆ - 1 cup
Grated coconut/ಕಾಯಿ ತುರಿ - 1/3 cup
Jaggery/ಬೆಲ್ಲ - 1/2 cup
Elaichi/ಏಲಕ್ಕಿ - 2
Maida/ಮೈದಾ - 1/2 cup
Rava/ರವೆ - 2 tsp
Oil/ಎಣ್ಣೆ - 1/4 cup
salt to taste/ರುಚಿಗೆ ತಕ್ಕಷ್ಟು ಉಪ್ಪು
