For the majority of the 25 years I owned a landscaping company in Florida I ran at least one maintenance crew with a dump truck. That said, Florida is different. You mow year round in most of the state and things that are add on services elsewhere are just part of the landscape maintenance package there. I believe there each year I may have had two or three mow only properties out of over one hundred residential properties. All that to say, a dump truck is almost a necessity due to all of the debris you generate through hedge trimming, weeding, raising trees, pruning palms, etc .. almost nobody uses a main body there. I was one of the first companies that I can think of that was using a dump truck for mowing (back in 2001) and it wasn't because I was smarter than anyone. I went to visit family in Massachusetts in 2000 and saw a guy with an older Ford mason body truck with a wooden box and he was doing leaf removal with a debris loader and I thought it was genius so I stole the idea. One question on your stake body. Are you having a problem with the sides bowing out from hauling all of the mulch, etc ...? As far as diesel engines, I was with you until I moved here to NE Tennessee. Hauling a 10k with a loaded dump body through the mountains isn't fun with a gasser. Love you videos BTW
I agree totally man. We visit Orlando for two weeks every December. And it’s interesting how setups are different from state to state. No problem with the sides. The wood on there makes everything come out easily. And thank you! I appreciate that!
Hey Roach brother lawn care that nice looking dump truck i am 25 years old i aslo got my own lawn care business 2 trailer and 2 mower 2 trailer keep up the great work on your channel
Took the words out of my mouth. Crazy to see the companies with f450/550 mason dump out mowing. I think the reason they do it(i know a buddy with that size biz that he bought into, didnt start) is 1) bc the way its always been done and 2)they bag every lawn bc its simple. He has 3 🇲🇽 guys go out to cut 30 35 lawns 5 days a week, to train them and trust them to use a chute blocker and not splash grass into beds/cars/windows i guess isnt feasible. It used to be cheap insurance to bag, less broken windows/grass everywhere. But town dumps here are all closed except 1 so to dump grass you have to find a private place and pay$$.
@roachbrotherslawncare2936 i just got a 99 f250 this year, the hitch rotted on my 03 f150 that i started with. Hesitant to put a dump insert in bc i want this truck to last me a few years. Plus i try not to haul grass away, if i catch its for someone i can dump in the woods. By the end of the week i only wind up sith a few barrels full and i can lose that here or there lol
its the way to go man. We stay debt free. no loans on anything. We put a percentage away from every $100 we earn and save for mowers tools and trucks. If you stay debt free in this kind of work you can make a killing in cutting grass @@jamess9910
Hey roach brother here to ask a question once again?it is that I’m going to the ford dealership right now and I was going to ask when I go I just ask to see if I can get a F-350 regular can stake body 2022? Because I did not order it online I’m just going to go over there soon?anthor question is what company brand did your stake body?don’t mind me asking so much I’m sorry if I’m bothering by asking but yea please try to respond.?
Yes you can ask if they have a regular cab stakebody. That’s exactly what I have. The make of the truck is Ford. The company that welded and built the stake part is called “reading”
Find out what other companies are paying their guys. You can check on indeed.com. Or ask around. You want to pay your guys around the same as other companies and if you can pay them more. That’s how they stick around.
Nice truck
@@Walshslandscaping thanks man!
