Nice bit of kit,, it's hard tho ' to change brands, if you're already geared up to one manufacturer,, I've got 3 chargers, a jigsaw, a grinder, and a combi, (and a torch somewhere,! And around 8 batteries, Lol,,) all by Makita, so it's a bit of a pain, to switch to another brand, !! But for anyone starting out, or even replacing a worn out set of machines /batteries, It's nice to have a recommendation, for good gear,,, thanks Dan,, PS, love that "work light" function, !!
Definitely difficult to justify moving over, I did it to DeWalt and the trouble is it costs so much money. Buying all new for a standard kit around 1500! Thanks John hope all is well
@@PlumbingGy Yep, all good here,,, hope you're busy, (like every builder /decorator, that I know,,) seems everyone is going mad, getting house projects done, since they can't go abroad on holiday,, ha ha.. All the best buddy,,,,
Hey Dan great review on that DCD-996 If you are using it a lot , keep an eye on the plastic. I'm having problems with them starting to crack under the motor and just above the griping area onto the plastic. I made a video on UA-cam about the problems I've had. Cheers mate 👍👍
Why the European version says 18v and the USA says 20v? the specs and torque are exactly the same, Is it a marketing trick? I also have the EU version btw.
Quality video mate. To the point and all the info needed. Keep it up!👍🏼
Great review, many thanks!

Thanks Ronald I do use it quite a lot I might have to check it out when I get home 👍🏻
In the video you have a DCD 996 XRP not XR. Are they the same?
The xrp and xr refer to the different battery types ✌🏻
