Thanks
Thank you for all of the great videos!
Channa, your the shit man!!!! I'm so upset I didn't find your channel sooner. You've got everything!!! Best channel by far.
Nice job really good information!
This vid came at a perfect time, just started looking for a sub for my first system today!! 😁
Nice!
Hey man another great video! Great, and very useful information! Makes figuring out what you need for subwoofer setups very easy! Awesome.
Thanks man!
Amazing Thanks!
Great video. I have a 15x15x10 room and a 12" was really struggling especially with the tower speakers and power going to them that I have. I went up to a hsu 15" VTF-15H MK2 and it is outrageous by comparison to my old 12" Klipsch. Way more rumble and punch. It actually pressurizes the room, I always say get as much sub as you can afford and I'd also say over do it by a lot rather than under do it by a little. You can always adjust it down...can't go past max.
Hi Brian! Well said!
Still have the hsu? How's your opinion of it now? What's low end like. 30hz and below.. 10hz isn't a huge deal for me but 20hz is a must and must do with authority.. why I'm replacing klipschs now
@@chrisjones6165 no idea what the Hz range is as I've never checked or worried about it TBH. I can tell you this, I still love it, it still works flawlessly, and it rattles my bathroom window which is on the same floor about 25ft away from the sub through two walls while watching the new Dune. The options are great on it as far as customizing it to your specific needs to so if you contact HSU they can tell you how to set it up with the EQ and other tuning options to fit what you want it to do.....
But all that being said I would look at the new Monoprice monolith 13" thx Sub. Due to the prices of HSU going up and having pay for shipping the HSU is going to run you $1354 now. The Monoprice monolith 13" thx is on sale for $1549 right now with free shipping. You get much more power and if you read the audioholics review it is a monster that dips down to 10-12hz in room at insane SPL. For my money starting new I'd 100% go the monolith 13" thx or 16" thx for $1550/$2100 route .
@@chrisjones6165 hope all that helps man.
Awesome video!!!!
Been waiting for one like this!!!
Thanks David!
Man am so happy getting dual RSL speedwoofers 10". I almost didn't get them cause paying $119. for shipping since I live in Canada. At 1594 sq/ft big time punch on these babies! 🇨🇦 As always best Home theater channel on UA-cam
That’s awesome Ross!! I’ve been trying to get them to send me one to review for a while.
You should put both metric and "American" measurements in your videos for all your international viewers.
1500 Cubit Ft = 42.5 cubic meters
3000 cubic ft = 85 cubic meters
yeah otherwise only people from Myanmar, Liberia and The United States will understand. x)
@@TechnoDad 405 cubic meters, is just 1 unit of Rythmik Audio F18 enough?
This is great definitely measured square feet before and not cubic will be redoing my measurements although I'm pretty sure I need a big sub for my open basement with 8 foot ceilings. It was 600 square feet.
Yeah, that's a pretty big space!
Very good video. Scouted for this for two days. Like yours, my room is open up to 10,000 cubic ft. Not sure what to do, main set up is for music, thoughts? Thx
Good information and it was simply explained thanks
Thank you Roman!
My svs sb 16 u is the right sub for me. 😊👍
I have an older Yamaha receiver (2006) that still works great but my Klipsch sub died a few years ago. Was looking at the BIC America
ACOUSTECH H-100II or either the Klipsch R 12SWi or the Klipsch R 120SW. Any recommendations?
im so happy you said 1500 cubic feet cuz thats what i have the only difference is I met a music studio and I'm trying to get accurate monitoring with it or or find out if I still can have an accurate monitoring system
Great video. Im setting up my home theatre system today. My room is 1900 cu ft. Im going with dual subwoofers. Should I use 2-10” or 12” & 10”? Please get back to me as soon as possible. Thanks.
I have definitive tech. 8 inch sub and also a paradigm monitor 7 10 sub. The paradigm is crazy loud!
I have a vaulted ceiling like you. How does that affect the bass performance from a reflection standpoint? I have areas in the room that have a huge base hit, but if i move 6 feet in any direction the base response plummets. It is very frustrating.
I currently have a klipsch reference 12 and an older klipsch 10 with 12in passive. Output is ok, low end below 35ish hz is little to non existent. Looking to upgrade to best sub for under a 1000$ or so. Top to now are hsu vtf 15h mk2 Or the monolith 15. Will have 2 of whatever I choose just don't know what is better being I can't personally test or hear either in person
I've been looking for this topic , cheers to you good job. Now I don't have some salesman trying to sell me 2 of 15", my room is just a touch above 1500 sq/ft , thinking about getting 2 HSU 12".subs.
Yup!!! You wouldn’t imagine the kind of wasted money I’ve spent early on when salespeople tell me I “really need this...” glad I could help and yes, two 12” subs would be more than enough for your space!
In a 880 cubic foot room what size sub is good to the point it won’t disrupt the rest of the house? My house is a old farm house so sound bleeds between floors pretty easily I am trying to stay under a 200 total budget including speakers I want a Yamaha ns c210bL as the center speaker and two outer speakers and for those in not sure what to get either kinda going for a 3 to 1 setup
This video was a great idea. Worth making BUT...while they are general guide lines...we know one "12-inch (driver) sub" is not the same as the next. One might have more power. One might have nicer built-in amps, less rigid cabinets...etc. Then there is how the room walls were treated for sound--were they sound "suppressed"? Do they have absorbing and reflective panels? Does it have wall-to-wall carpeting? How much furniture...etc. So many variables...
And where did you come up with...1500 cuft room should have 2 10" subs...etc.? Just personal experience? Curious.
Hello this isn't Joe&tell. ...&today we are going 2place an Eris 3.5 in2 a white gallon bucket. DONE.
I used a flared waistbasket 4 wonderful asthetics.
"I painted my bucket flat b>lack."
i have living room with open plan kitchen. where do I keep the front and left speakers ... and rears.
I have 8 foot high ceilings. My room measures 22'L x 12'W x 8'H = 2,112 Cu. Ft.. I went with two 10" subs and that seems to work pretty well.
Nice! Glad to hear it and thank you for sharing your experience!
Thanks for posting the vid. I have Elac Debut 6.2 front L and R and center. I want a sub but the reviews of the Elac Debut s12eq are just OK. Ive been looking at the Klipsch Reference R-112SW. Is there anything i should be aware of before mixing brands like this?
Hi Sam! No problem using a different sub than your other speakers. Look into SVS subwoofers.
Is big massive pa like speakers the best front left and right or even back and side speakers if they are you wouldn't need a 300 or 500 what's subwoofers
Hi Sir, kindly advice. Which sub will have deepest bass between two subs, all parameters held constant save;
1st Subwoofer Pioneer TS-D12D2.0 with 72db, 600 wats RMS dual core 2 ohms vs
2nd Subwoofer: pioneer TS w3003d4 with 96db, and 600 watts RMS 4 ohm dual core.
Thank you Sir.
I have a 12 x 20 x 8, but its a FROG (finished room above garage) so i cant figure out how to calculate the total volume, i went ahead and did 80%, , 1536 , so i listened to you and got the SVS PB12-NSD Subwoofer, ported, it legit rocks my world, i just cant decide if adding a second one would be awesome or overkill, i watched John Wick 3 last night, and legit every bullet felt like i was getting punched in the stomach, I LOVED IT, should i get the second one?
Would you go with two 10’s or one 12? My thoughts are that dual anything will out perform a single due to balance
forsure two 10's. quality matters too but still unless you want the foundation of your house to rattle
I have the Klipsch R 120 SW. 12 inch
200 watt rms / 400 watt piek .
Freq 29 / 120 hz.
Most I listen is music , how low does music goes.
With that I'm asking myself " do I need a sub that's is going lower than that?"
Or not ... I want to go dual with these.
Is that a good idea for music ?
You have a 12 inch sub the R 112 SW ?
If this is still so, how does that work for you..
Please help ...
Hi Technodad. My room is 28' x 10.5' X 8.5' so 2500 cubic ft (enclosed)
But want to build an additional wall (similar to Superdave) to create a sort of media closet behind my TV. creating a new 5X10.5 closet. (with the tv wall being 10.5 feet long)
So room changes to just over 2050 cubic feet. What do you think for this set up? dual 12s? I am a little in danger of running out of wall space with a 75" TV and two Tower speakers (unless I place subs under the TV?) It works, but the wall is PACKED and I'd like to get a nice floating TV stand, console under the tv.
I know I don't HAVE to place subs at the front of the room, but I really like the look.
Fantastic Video.....the best....
Thanks Mel!
I built a diy 15” sub tunes to 28hz big box in my small room 12 x 12 x 10 .. 200 watts and that’s perfect for my room, for the back listening area at least lol anywhere upfront is nearly a bass dead zone but at least it shakes everything haha 😎😝
lol!
Hola Techno DAD,
Need to move a sub across my room but don’t want to use speaker wire, suggestions for wireless transmitter? I have a Polk PSW 10
Hi Channa! I wished I had discovered your channel sooner. Plenty of informative useful videos. Keep up the good work! In this particular case, I'm interested - sorry if you already replied earlier - in knowing how you determined the 1500 cubic feet threshold, between a 10" and 12" sub. Did you measure the db outpout?
It's more of a guideline. I read a few different remarks about subwoofer size in relation to room size and went off my evaluation of my room to come up with a guideline.
My one is 24 q2m big and i need a pretty low Subwoofer ofcourse the Room is like tuned to 18 - 30 Hz
I have a small 1056 cu ft room. I’ve had dual 12” R12SW Klipsch front firing subs. I thought they would be an upgrade as they are Reference line compared to my older Klipsch down firing SUB-12’s Icon line subs. I don’t get that deep bass feeling in my chest from the new subs like I did my old ones. I ended up buying the old SUB-12’s again and after comparing specs notice the old ones have 100 additional watts each and go lower in HZ.
Very interesting. Thank you for sharing your experience!
I have the reference 12s to and I feel the same about em
Yeah I agree those monoliths are no joke!! ..
Whats your opinion on the BIC F12 Sub? Its for a 12x8x10 room currently which will be eventually moved into a larger room of about 14 x 8 x 12. I was originally gonna go with one of the Dayton 10/12 inch subs but I feel like I need a little more without busting my budget out the door. Thanks!
dayton if your mostly listening to music, bic f12 if your mostly watching movies, the bic f12 gets louder but has more booming sound to it do to port noise
1250 cubic feet - I think about SPL-150 (15" sub), I live in a flat, so won't be maxing this. Will it be ok or should I AVOID it, because sound will be worse than with 10" sub? Or I can get 15" and sound will be better compared to 10", just won't be able to use all this power?
Ya I may be kinda screwed lol Redid my house, wife and I really wanted the whole "open concept" feel seeing as the house itself wasnt huge. Well issue I have now because of that, I have over 6000ft3 to worry about. Funny thing is right now I'm still using my Polk PSW505 and I could kind a tell its not really working like it was in my old setup. Any suggestions? Or am I stuck having to shell out $2500 on a SVS PB-16 Ultra
Hi! That's a bit rough. I have been enjoying the SVS PB-4000(amzn.to/2RQY4di) which is a little less on the wallet. You should check it out. I will have a video up about the PB-4000 soon!
Hey Channa, what do you think is better, (2) svs sb1000pro or (1) svs pb1000pro? Room is about 3700 cubic feet. Thanks!
Would dual SVS PB3000’s be a solid option for a room of about 4500 cubic feet?
You should make a video in the proper settings for each surround speakers, like what's the best frequency for each speaker, how to adjust the db settings for each and so forth
Jaime V
Definitely would be more beneficial. Please consider this Technodad
That's all based on the AVR and its room correction. I just recorded parts of that with the Yamaha RX-V583. I hope to have that review up this week.
Thanks for the reply so cool. My room is my guarge and it’s 24x30. My sub is -10 and I went down to -6. I have a Yamaha avr. My sub on it is set at 0. I played around with settings but did not notice much difference. Should this sub be shaking my clothes. I can feel the bass if stand right in front of it but not when I’m sitting on my couch. Is there an app I can measure my sound waves with. Or is this all I get for a $2,500 speaker. My wife would leave me if she New how much it cost. So my expectations are high. Lol
Wow! What is the height of your ceiling? With 8ft ceilings, your room is 5,760 cubic feet. That's huuuuge!! It makes total sense why you are not getting the kind of impact you want with one 16. You might need two to pressurized that room. Try swapping the internal amp and see if anything changes. You can also try SVSs room configurator thingy to see what they recommend.
I have 26x13x8 = 2704 cubic i have already xtz 10.17 sub 10" what you prefer for second sub
my budget is 1500 USD for SVS Subwoofer, and I will use Klipsc 8000 with 504c centre. Should I get 2 budget Subs like PB1000/2000 or one PB 3000? I keep changing my rented place so size of living room also keeps changing, but i try to get a place with same size.
My family room is 19'6"×19'6" with an 14' extended hall way. I'm thinking of adding polk audio HTS12
How many did you get?
Yes I got a few questions for you. I have a BIG MANCAVE almost 9,000 cu ft. My single Velodyne DEQ-10r subwoofer which has 195 watts RMS and 390 watts dynamic which is placed in one corner does actually pretty good. However, I do not get the heart rumbling, wall shaking like I should for movies, I am mostly into movie watching a little music but not so much, so bass in music I don't really care it its there or not. But movies is a different animal. I am looking into replacing the subwoofer though. I don't like the footprint of the SVS PB 4000 (to DAMN big) and the PB 3000 is a little more tolerable but not to much.
Here is the question. Question about the SVS PC 4000. Do you think that one PC 4000 should take care of the problem, I am thinking this has 1200 watts RMS and 4000 watts peak, at the Minimum power out it still is putting out 6 times the punch of the Velodyne. The PB 4000 is just to damn wide and deep for my liking. But the PC 4000 has a great footing to it. I understand that its like a used glove you get use to it and don't want to change gloves.
I have talked to individuals at SVS doing my homework and research and they are telling me that I should run duels but I don't think its necessary I am thinking its a sells pitch to spend more $$$ lol. I am thinking since the Velodyne does what is does with the minimal watts it does put out ONE bigger sub will do great.
I am also in the process of resetting my Home movie system. I am trying to reset my 7.1 Surround system. I am running a Marantz A/V receiver model SR 6006, 100 watts per channel. I need some help in the speaker settings. the following is what I have set it to. But I am not sure if these are correct. can you help me out and give me the proper settings for the best quality. ......
AIM8 Two In-Ceiling (Speakers)

I am very open minded and keeping all my options open. But I really need help with this situation.
Also I have high frequency hearing loss due to my 20 years in the Military combat tours etc etc. I don't want to lose the rest of my hearing so I am just a little concerned about the subs output. What is your opinion on this.....I look forward to hearing from you.
Hi! I have just one sub in my home theatre room and its a Velodyne DD 15+. Thinking about adding another so what do you think I should go for another identical Velodyne or can i go for an SVS PB-4000?
Hi! It would be best if you match the other subwoofer.
I went ahead and added another sub REL HT1508 to join my Velodyne DD15+, together they sound great. Whats your thoughts on REL HT1508?
I'm kinda curious is there a method for figuring screen size vs room size? Hoping you have a link for this. Thanks technodad!
Hi Ernie!! It use to be that you could take the diagonal measurement from the TV and multiply that by 2.5 and that would be the ideal place to sit. That was for a 1080p TV, but now for 4K, they are saying you can go with a bigger TV in that same space. Does that make sense?
Hey man I live in a small apartment what brand or type of book shelf speakers and center channel speaker, and sub would you recommend.
The ones in Dolby Cinema or IMAX
My room is 18x14x8. A little over 2000 sq. ft. Several years ago when I first set up my home theater in that room, I tried 2 8" subwoofers which didn't work for me. So, I went with a single 12" SVS sub which I loved. Recently the amp in my sub went out. So, not learning from my first try at dual subwoofers, I bought 2 10" Klipsch subwoofers. They just couldn't reproduce the bass I was accustomed to with the SVS. So, I ended up returning the Klipsch subs and buying another 12" SVS which I love. The plan now is to eventually replace the amp in my first SVS sub and try dual SVS subs. A single 12" SVS sub is enough for the room, but I want to try dual subs just for fun.
That sounds like a good plan!
Which SVS are you running?
Hi, I’ve short listed these two sub woofers, the Polk HTS 12” and the BIC America F12. I haven’t auditioned any of these yet. My room volume comes around 2000 Qubic. I have this Polk S20 Bookshelf Speakers for the front channels. I am using it for purely music purposes and I have plans to upgrade the system to 7.2.2 or 77.2.1 later. So my question is which sub should I choose for my room ?. The sub should sound excellent for music(like EDM) and movies that is the end goal. Please suggest one!
Hi Manoj! I would go with either. They both look like solid performers with a ported enclosure which will give you better bass extension for both EDM and movies. So pick one and see how it works. You should be able to return it if you want to try the other one. OR...but both and try them out, and keep the one you like.
Unfortunately returning will not be possible in my area. and I can only get the audition of the Polk HTS 12 at most. because BIC F12 is not available near me and have to order online and they will not accept return!. so I have to depend on other experienced peoples advice on this situation. so please take this in consideration and replay
bic acoustech pl-200
Great video but still waiting on the other videos for this series, especially ported vs sealed
Hi! I'll work on that one this month. Basically ported is better for low end bass extension and sealed is better for music as it's tighter.
Mass Effect relay jump - a perfect test for if your subwoofer is up to par.
It builds beautifully then thumps hard.
P.S. I'm buying that digital tape measure 😲
Right on!
I measure my room by filling it with water then I weighed the water
Smart...
Then you used Archimedes Principle!
This also works for measuring the inside of your new car or SUV. Just park it on a scale and see how much it weighs empty and full.
For music, I want a natural, smooth sound down to 15hz. Not boomy thump. I use two 18 in subwoofers. So my room is 40x45x10. The kitchen, den, formal living and dining rooms, breakfast nook and entry way are all one giant room with flat 10 ft ceiling.
my room is 21.5ft x 22ft x 10.5ft does it mean I need dual 15inch subs for best results?
SVS PB 16 (x 1) or Klipsch R115sw (x 2)?
Thanks for your awesome informational videos. They have been pivotal in my recent home theater setup.
My living room is 22 ft x 16 ft x 12.5 ft (4,400 cu. ft.) I just installed a 5.0 Klipsch reference premier home theater system - RP 450c x1 (center), RP 280f x2 (front left & right), RP 250s x2 (surround left & right). They are all connected using 12 gauge wires to the Denon AVR x4400h. I don’t have a separate Amplifier yet and am thinking of getting the Emotiva XPA 5 Gen 3. I have installed a 150 inch Elite Screen Spectrum with a Optoma UHD 51a projector.
Do you recommend I go with the Klipsch R115sw (x1 or x2) so that the entire audio setup is Klipsch? Or should I go with the SVS PB 16 Ultra (can only afford 1 at most)?
Thanks.
Hi Benzi! Thanks for watching! Looks like a killer setup you have. I would go with the SVS sub over the Klipsch.
Techno Dad - thanks - will go with the SVS sub.
$$$ Now if I could just figure out the combination to the vault at my local bank 🤔 $$$
Techno Dad - does the SubWoofer need to be placed in the front next to the center speaker or is it alright to place the Sub in the back (behind the viewing position)?
It's totally fine to place is behind you.
What would you recommend in 1500 cubic feet seald concrete room, 100% Movie watching I'm gong whit duals Ported vs seald. I want the best chest slam for that room. high volumes and low volumes. can consider 18" subs also..:-)
What are your thoughts or opinion on in-wall subwoofers
Hi! I've never heard any in person, so I don't think I could say.
i kinda have the same problem you have but just my kitchen. its connected to my tv room. I have two 15" and there awesome but i want more.
What kind of subs are they and how many watts?
Hello Techno Dad... I have 2800 cubic ft living room... what if I put 2 10in subs... will that work?
Hii.. Can we use car sub-woofer like DC Audio in Home theatre?
Hi, yes u can use a car subwoofer the only thing is that u would need a battery and a charger and charge it all the time and a 12 volt amp or u could take the amp and use a pc power supply hope im helpfull for u
Sir I bought front fire samsung subwoofer but I confused downfire subwoofer is good for thumping effect which is good front or down fire please reply me
I have a PB4000 and although it puts out a good amount bass, I don’t “feel” it.
Just measured the volume of my room and I am at 4400 cubic ft, plus an open stairway that leads to the entire first floor. (Theater is setup in the basement.)
So do I just add a second PB4000? From everything I read when running duals, ideally they would be 2 identical subs. With the addition of a second PB4000 will I be able to “feel” it? Or do I need to move up to the Ultra series?
I think you should probably be good with another PB4000. 1200 watts RMS x 2 should be enough to get that impact you're looking for. Yes, in a perfect world, you would want the exact same sub to get rid of any dead zones in your room.
Techno Dad Thanks boss! Also thanks again for hooking me up with your speaker guy in Kentucky!
No problem!
I have a 2,700 sq ft room thinking about going quad sb2000 what are your thoughts
Wow! That's a lot of subs!! I'd say, try dual first.
I know this was an old video. Appreciate if you still answer my question. My room is 10x8x10=800ft³. Can i consider Yamaha NS SW200 8".
Hi! You sure could! You could even go with a 10" sub if you wanted and space and budget isn't an issue.
@@TechnoDad Budget is a bit issue. However now I'm in dilema whether to choose 8" 300 watt or 10" 100 watt. Which one you will choose?
Don't you have to consider how low a subwoofer hits and the power it is fed? I have a dual 10 inch subwoofers that goes down to 23hz with 300 watts of power and 1200 watts dynamic. I do understand that bigger subs are able to take more power and should be hitting lower frequencies but end of the day it's the actual specs that matter right? My room is 3000 cubic feet approximately and it opens up to other areas but I had to set the volume on the sub to 1/2 and on my receiver at - 3db for the low-end to not overpower the speakers themselves.
Yes, all very good points. Balance is a topic I got to in another subwoofer video, and probably what I'll get to in this series as well. Getting the proper balance between speakers and sub are very important as you don't want to overpower the sound with too much bass.
My movie room is downstairs in a finished basement with ceiling tiles. Will the tiles effect my sound in a negative way by much?
That's a great question, and it may make a difference, but I'm not sure you would notice unless you were REALLY listneing for it.
When we moved here and put my system into my 4200 sf vaulted room with hardwood my bass vanished. My 10' ported sub is boomy at some frequencies and non existent at others ,crossover is at 80. Looking at a pair of SB300s or PB2000s.
I have 4 tsi500 polk audio towers, c20 center channel
Would really like an apartment version of this and I don't mean Spare Changes' apartment (duplex) I mean a place of 50m² floor space or marginally larger and how to deal with sound leak.
Channa hi nice channel I am more of a diy person more satisfaction than buying a brand wanna have a perfect audiophile stereo and 5.1 setup. Have you tried using a receiver as a Pre amp and say 4 channel poweramp with Active crossover with passive dual 10” peerless subs the poweramp will run my subs so I don’t need plugs where I put the subs. I felt surround not a big deal and also the center I use the reciever or maybe add another poweramp for them what’s your take. I like diy cause I feel I can make it look better than commercial speakers and not make home minister unhappy with boxes around. Room is 3000 cub ft
Great video. I will admit it kind of felt like you released this video to convince your wife you need the biggest speaker possible. "I could go dual 15", 16" the sky is the limit, if i measure more things I'll find more air space for a bigger sub." Hope she agrees man, godspeed
Question for you guys. I have a room that's approximately 18 feet deep 7 and a 1/2 feet ceiling and and 12 feet wide. I plan on using two 12 in subwoofers for a dedicated theater room which I'm building. Am I going overboard ? I know everyone swears by multi sub which is finally why I decided to do it upstairs in my living room which sounds absolutely amazing. Only problem is I don't want to upset the wife and disturb the kids with a loud noise. Which is why I'm building downstairs in the basement.
Hi TechnoDad, I have an open floor concept, MSP is 12 feet from front stage and debating between the PB 2000 Pro or the SB3000. SVS recommended the PB3000 but that is huge...wife wont be happy....I am running a Klipsch sw12 right now....this is 95% movies and TV, HBO etc. Will the SB3000 work out for me? I have a simple living room, nothing is dedicated. Thanks...just want a single.
I have Yamaha RX-A1080 receiver & 2 Infinity beta 50 tower speakers so please let me know what’s the best subwoofer.
My room size is (L 20 feet/W 20 feet /H 12 feet) please let le known Polk Audio PSW10 two sibwoofer compatible with this
Techno Dad, does the viewing area reflect the size of the sub? So if your airspace is 4,000 cubic feet but your sitting 6 feet away from the subwoofer. Could you still get by with a smaller sub than you recommend? Like a good quality 12"?
Hi Eric! Yes, it probably does. Since you are so close to the sub, one 12" should. Now if you were trying to get even bass in all seating positions, that might be a bit difficult.
;( my pc room is 518cubic ft
Was looking at getting the rel T7I
My room size is 1150 ft**3, should I go for dual 8" or just one 10" sub?
dual ported 10's (i'm a bass head though)
What's better for home theater a big sub (12") or two small ones (8")? I have them that is why I'm asking and I don't have the $$ to go buy another 12 inch one right now...
What’d you end up doing?
@@JaredSchumaier I stayed with the 12"
@@sw20lover I got dual 12’s and it’s amazing
Great video but I noticed you only put up SVS subwoofers. Have you ever looked at JL audio subwoofers the E Subs and the Fantom? What are your thoughts if you have. Next thing is a lot of people are raving about dual subs in a room as opposed to one big 12 put two tens?
For home theater I've had Celestion, Klipsch, and SVS. For car audio, I've had Orion, Boston Acoustics and JL. My best car system had three JL 12" subs in a custom fiberglass enclosure built into the spare tire well with a new false floor in the trunk. Very awesome system, until the car got stolen, lol!! I would love to see what JL has for home theater, and I'd also like to try out Velodyne subs. As far as dual subs, it's about even bass for all seating areas.
Techno Dad lol sorry about the stolen car. but if you do get a chance check out JL Fantom series. I went into a audio store here in New York to listen to it and it was absolutely amazing well built very deep bass and clear it wasn't distorted. definitely interested in hearing your thoughts if you get a chance to check it out
Techno Dad seems like people with good sound systems inside their car eventually gets stolen. My father had a good car sound system back in the day and it got stolen as well. That's why I can't get into car sound systems because it's too easy to steal. Usually cars with a Bose sound system is just enough for me
Those JLs are pricey!! No way I can afford to buy one of those for the channel...yet, LOL!
Techno Dad lol yes they are very pricey... but don't buy one just check it out at a dealer if you can... and no worries in a matter of no time you'll be able to get one for the channel your channel is growing so fast and you're putting out good content so it will only grow faster. Keep up the good work
Hey man please little help i have 2 questions my room is 16 square metres can i get pb2000 pro or its too big so i have to take pb1000? And second question because i want make home cinema the left and right speaker must be the best or Because you have center channel you have to spend your money to center to hear crystal clear the scenes and also take good subwoofer so center and subwoofer if you understand what i mean im.waiting your unser because im thinking to buy svs prime bookselfs or ultra bookselfs for left right channel whats your opinion thank you buddy
Hi! What is the cubic meter of the room? That will tell you how many subs you should get. I had the Ultra Bookshelf's and they were awesome. I would go with those if you could afford them.
@@TechnoDad my room is 5 metres length 3.3 metres width and 2.9 metres high i can afford them Buddy with Denon 4700h😁 so what you suggest me?
@@TechnoDad waiting unswer buddy😁
I have a large open concept living area.12,500 cubic feet. Any recommendations for size? 2x16”? Or am I asking the impossible trying to fill that area with bass.
I would look at JTR subwoofers. My buddy has two, dual 18” sealed subwoofers from JTR for his home theater. I think those might work.
Two svs pb 2000 12s I'm good still 👌
Hi, can I use 3 ohms speaker to a 4 ohms amplifier? Thank you
Hi! If the Amp is not stable at 2 or 3 ohms, there might be an issue. Not really sure. What are the components?
Depending if the driver is a dual voice coil. You can effectively drop the speaker 1 ohms up or down if it’s wired in either series, or in parallel.
Is there such thing as to much in a small room is there?
I kinda want to go dual 15” in a room less then 1000 sq. ft. 😅
Also, with dual subs do you put them in opposite phase of one another??
Lol! You can do whatever you want. Not sure about the phase thing
Can you create the same video again but this time mention RMS power + sealed/ported?
If u use 2 × 10 inch subs for the smallest room on this video list then.?.
Tech dad where do u get your illuminati triangle shirt from... Even if its just a company advertisement they are still the triangle and all seeing eye at the top
Lol! It's a Daft Punk/Pink Floyd shirt. I found it on Facebook somewhere.
Is dual 10”s good for a 1600cubic feet room?
Yes, that would be great!
should my subwoofer match my audio receiver or it doesn't matter?
Like the brand? No, that doesn't matter.
My hometheater garage is 21×20×8.5=3570 cubic feet. Should I rock u think dual svs pb3000 will give me that chest pounding I crave?
Yes! It's a big room and you gotta throw a lot of bass into that room. Think of it like how much air can those subwoofers move. So definitely two subwoofers is a good thing. The PB3000 is a great sub - amzn.to/3b1ghCW
@@TechnoDad thank u I will definitely get duals . I'm eyeballing those pb400s aswell.
Hi my room has cubic 1200 volume how much max power sub i can use one or two thanks.
Hello Jay, I would go with a 10" sub with 200 - 300 watts RMS. You could step it up to a 12" if you wanted. The SVS SB-1000 (amzn.to/2S5gvuR) is a good one at $499.
Thanks a lot
No problem!
One more quetion please can i put all same speakers for all 10 speakers for sorround, back, front ,height channels. What is the best option budget for these speakers thanks mate.
Yeah, you could use satellites for all your speakers and then a 10" or 12" sub. That should work. Have you looked into SVS's Prime Satellite system? It's a 5.1 system, but you can add more satellites as your needs grow. Here's a link to the 5.1 setup: amzn.to/2q6p24b
Question which one between this two R-100SW or R-12SWi? Room is 15 x 10 x 9?
I would go with the 12" for that size room.
@@TechnoDad Thanks for the quick response.Have a good one.
All of the bass. At least twin 15" even in walk in wardrobe
