The Rumeli fortress was built by Fatih Sultan Mehmet (Mehmet the Conquerer) a few months before he took Istanbul in 1453. It's an Ottoman (not Roman) fortress. Great video btw & it's always a pleasure watching your content.
As far as l know Rumeli Hisarı was built by Ottomans. They built it 1452 on the orders of Fatih Sultan Mehmet with the goal of cutting off maritime military and logistical relief that could potentially come to the Byzantines' aid by way of the Bosphorus Strait, therefore the fortress is also known as "Boğazkesen" = "Strait-cutter" Castle. Its older sister structure, Anadoluhisari "Anatolian Fortress" is on the opposite side of the Bosporus. In Turkish Rum-eli = Romanside Anadolu = Anatolia Hisar = fortress Kale = Castle But l enjoy it thanks for this beautiful video
Dine in areas were not closed because of Ramadan, it was due to covid restrictions. In İstanbul most of the restaurants remains open and serve during Ramadan as well. Visitors doesn't need to worry about finding a place to eat :)
Sooo many beautiful tulips 😍😍😍😍 Yes the cases were spiking terribly so they locked us down. But food was sold everywhere, as Turkey is a secular country, not everyone is Muslim, and not all Muslims fast during Ramadan. We hope next year we can actually experience all the Ramadan celebrations. Yum that kofte sandwich looks amazing and soo crispy. We love being by the Bosphorus and seeing all the fishermen there.
What a great way to start your day on that ferry 🙂 really like the interesting architecture there! The tulips look beautiful 😍🌷 oh wow I thought it was the Netherlands too that introduced tulips 😅 that fortress looks cool 🙂 Would've been great to visit but too bad you can't go up the towers. I bet that would be the first thing Peter would've wanted to do if we were there lol 😆🏰
Yes I took so many ferry rides this time in Istanbul. It’s the most relaxing and enjoyable thing to do and super affordable too 🤩 True! The Netherlands Is known for Tulips 🌷 Yeah! I hope they change that! I really just wanted to climb up all the towers too 😄
Hello Lana, Just wondering if you recall around when you visited Emirgan Park since I'm hoping to visit this spring? Was it late April, the middle of April, early April? Thanks!

Find a job in Istanbul for Carlos and live here together. This place is great for 4 seasons! Turks love Europeans very much. There will even be times when you get tired of the intense attention to you here. You know we are very hospitable.
Rumeli Castle is not a Roman Castle, Fatih Sultan Mehmet had that castle built before the conquest of Istanbul, and she took the Bosporus of Istanbul under her control.
What is your favourite thing to do in Spring? 🌸🌸
