Great video as always! How did you recover/land when both your feet got loose? I was a teenager last time I tried to jump and lost both my pedals completely. I panicked and lost handle grips, too. It ended in a tree with my crotch straddling the top tube, but miraculously, no injury. Since starting MTB again as an adult a couple years ago I've successfully worked up from bump jumps to table tops, but with no more than ~1 second of air time. But I've not lost my pedals or grips yet. So question, if anybody ever reads this, what CAN a person do in the air if they lose their pedals in order to eek out an emergency landing? Anything? Obviously, practice. That has completely eliminated my panic factor, and helped me develop good technique for keeping friction between my shoes and pedals. So I think I'm already a couple notches ahead. But I'm never going to clip in, so I'm always going to have the risk of feet slipping.

You can always go to your seat. Lol It will be a sloppy uncomfortable landing but it may save a crash. With jumps always start with table tops. Sugar land is a good place to build up the skill with their jump line on the RCs. Slowly work your way up till you clear all of them then start sending some gap jumps similar in size to get over the mental block. Atleast this is just my advice as others may learn differently.

Hey man I'm digging the videos! I actually live in the clear lake area and your videos have been great for scouting trails. If you're ever interested in going for a ride brother let me know.

@@RoadtoSolitude Got dang man! sorry to hear that. I hope it heals up well. I would never want anyone to get hurt but at least you get to capitalize on it with a cool video right? I'll be waiting for it.👍

Wait what???? You can drive all the way out to the jumps? This is Rocky Hill Ranch right? I went out there recently to hit these jumps but never found them. I’m guessing you just continue on the road? I parked near the restroom at the front.

Yeah its right next door. You go past the rocky hill ranch entrance to where you you see a corner store and take arrowhead all the way to the entrance to get to freeride512

I managed to get to 512 from RHR the day I was there. But if I recall correctly, the map is a little confusing. I found 512 fairly easy but for some reason had a bit of trouble finding my way back to my car parked at RHR. Anyway I'm more of a XC guy, and I only paid the RHR fee, so I didn't really do any thing at 512 except scout it out.
