Back in the day we use to have aerobics and this was the song that kept us all in shape 😅 No surgery And no filters We had to bloody workout 😂 to great sweaty songs like this 😁

I would say this song put “rap” music into pop stations. He got no respect from actual hip hop artists and was heavily ridiculed along with vanilla nice but now a days you can’t help but love it and appreciate it.

I’ve never felt older than I did watching this reaction! 👵🏾 I clearly remember the first time I heard this song on the car radio. The 90s seem like yesterday, but it still hasn’t sunk in that my era is now considered “old school”! 🤣🤣🤣
It was actually released in 1990. My uncle on my mom's side said this was such a popular song back during his senior year in high school, along with Ice Ice Baby by Vanilla Ice. Can't forget Milli Vanilli, Salt n Pepa, Paula Abdul, and others. The late 80s/early 90s were so rad. Wish I could've experienced that era.
To this day, every time I pick up an actual hammer, I sing, "hammer time", even if no one is there with me... and if there is... here comes the dancing! LOL
This was MC Hammer's most popular song but he was not a one hit wonder. He had some other popular songs like: Here Comes The Hammer, Turn This Mutha Out (His version of the 1911 song), Pump It Up, Pray (We Need To Pray Just To Make It Today), Do Not Pass Me By (His version of the gospel song), and Too Legit just to name a few.
