For me, the ending in the japanese live-action movie is WAY better than the anime one. Everything since Near and Mellow are a lot weaker than everything before it.

Honestly, the manga explains everything better. They really tried to speedrun the ending of the anime.
@@Amadeus_A Which is sad, the second part of the anime (Near and Mello) is an interesting continuation of the story, and i like it more everytime i watch it. So sad they didnt treat it as well

why didn’t you explain it?
In a way, it makes sense that plans are getting recycled. M & N did not have all the info L had, so these plans and deceits are new to them.
On the other hand, it does feel like the original run was meant to end in a climactic draw between Light and L, and that there was pressure to write more which forced the series to keep going past the point they had the best ideas.
We gotta keep in mind that the anime butchered the 2nd half by rushing every explanation. If they cut the explanation of L's guesses they would seem anticlimactic as well. I always recommend people that watched the show to read the manga right after. The end is different too which helps to keep the curiosity up.

If you're implying that the author was forced to continue writing more I don't think that's the case. The reality is that Ohba, while being a pretty good writer, just isn't amazing. It becomes more clear in later works that he kinda got lucky.
This episode is one of the reasons a lot of people dislike 2 half of the Death Note
You're telling me that Mikami is literally the only Kira worshipper that was on Takada's show in 5 god damn years? We had a swarm of Kira's worshippers in previous episode in U.S alone
That's one of the biggest issues of Near as a character and as L's successor-he figures out stuff literally out of nowhere, imagine if L came to conclusion that Light is Kira without 10 episodes of careful and methodical detective work that we saw, his every step was logical and made sense
In case of Near he just happened to spot one exact Kira's zealot out of possibly thousands and be right about him, and what's even more bizarre, Mikami managed to raise suspicion about himself the moment they decided to drop investigating him
The manga explains it better (Near has people investigating several possible candidates), but what you must remember is that it was Light's plan for Near to identify Mikami. It's not that Near just figured it out or that Mikami just happened to do something suspicious - it was Light outsmarting everyone (except Mello) that caused all this to happen.
@@t3rcx thank you. The anime left so many people thinking the writing fell off after L died as if he was some kind of miracle character, when in reality they just rushed everything (probably because it cost a lot to produce).
Didn't the same thing happen with Light though? Ray was done investigating him but then Light made himself more suspicious and that's eventually how they narrowed it down
@@secondeye1574 This was also part of Light's plan. He realized that Raye Penber didn't suspect him of anything after the bus jacking incident, but he wanted to strip L of the FBI as a resource moving forward while also sewing dissention among the police, who became incensed at the idea that L was secretly using the FBI to investigate members of the force and their families. It was part of his overall plan to get the police to figure out who L was, or force L to take more direct action and reveal himself.
I'm sure you may know this already, just want to give an explicit answer for anyone else reading this who might question these scenes.

People think near finding out who x kira is was too good, but what they fail to realize is near was watching hundreds of video recordings. That’s why the fast forward effect was going on.
As others noted, the anime is really rushing the second part compared to the first. In the manga, L's death occurred in Chapter 59, while the series ends in Chapter 108, exactly double that, so people spent more time following Near and Mello and it explained things in more detail.

AT 24:21, you were talking about Ryuk laughing at Light's lifespan. No matter how long Light's lifespan is, Ryuk at the beginning explained to Light that he would write Light's name in his notebook. So, it's possible Ryuk was laughing not because he knows how long it is, but because he knows how much life he's going to add to his own lifespan.

Light is at most 27-28 when the series ends, and ryuk probably saw that light was going to die in his 80s or 90s, so to him its like "aight this one guy not only gave me the best entertainment ive ever seen, he fed me apples for a while decade, and now im getting 60 years out of him. Lmaoooo"

I always thought that after L's death, Light/Kira should've been undone by the very "utopia" he tries to create, realizing that his ideal world can't exist, and isn't actually a paradise; instead of having a retread of what we already had, but with weaker characters and more absurd/extreme premises.
It would've been more philosophically interesting and even from a character standpoint, Light starting to realize how alone this whole thing made him, and how awful the world he created at such a cost ultimately is, would've been more poignant.

SPOILERS OF THE FINALE
It's crazy to think that from this point Light already predicted *everything* Near would do. That's Near biggest flaw, he's too predictable. If it wasn't thanks to Mello being a wild card, Near would just be another enemy humiliated by Light, just like Raye Penber and Naomi.
Near thinks hes better than he is. L was 100 times smarter.

My interpretation is that even if they're maybe not 'as good as L' they have the advantage bc there's 2 of them : L got to that point bc he had both intelligence and wild card quality to him.... The wild card part of him (=Mello) got him killed but his intellect (=Near) alone couldn't get him to the results he obtained, so it make sense that 2 L/2 parts of L working together is what it takes to beat Light at the end

Highly recommend the Japanese live-action Death Note movies. 2 movies, slim version of the anime. It ends differently. English dub uses most of the voice actors from the english dub anime.
Hey guys , how come you didn’t react to “Gen V” it’s a spin off in the boys universe and it’s in some ways better than the main show , it takes place after season 3 and is gonna link into season 4 of the boys that’s coming in June , so there will be characters u won’t know if u watch season 4 without this but also ur missing out as it’s such a good show. There may also be characters from the boys in gen v … ;)

Also there's going to be another Death Note there's going to be 10 death notes but it's going to be a new Death Note written in the manga but they want to turn it into the anime that Light Yagami is brought back to life by an angel in heaven the angel in heaven had an issue because there were 10 death notes from the Shinigami realm and when Rook came back to the Shinigami there were no Shinigami in the Shinigami Realm Rook was depressed but an angel from heaven was talking needed help about the death notes Erick was kind of upset because of Light Yagami he was a very intelligent guy he made a Roots life were fired up for but they are coming up with a manga
