As someone who's had the E-Meter used on myself, and has received basic training (not professional) on it myself, I can assure you it most definitely is effective. But, that becomes more real when they ask you smth like "Have you had an ARC Break?" (ARC Break, meaning an upset with a person) and think for just a fucking millisecond that you have, and the auditor immediately after begins to try and find what the ARC break was because the meter showed them it exists.
There is a book on this subject. What is going on in the mind has mass and motion . . . it is measurable when someone is trained to use an emeter for the betterment of their fellow man.

I understand the disconnect with psychiatry (TAke a pill to mask the ill is no solution at all). This said, its cousin, Pychology seems to be very closely aligned with auditing. Certainly, Mr Hubbard had tried, without success, to have his own works published in Psychology today.
The problem is that it is VERY difficult to "get" what Scientology auditing actually is. It is NEW. Then again, a lot of what is found in Dianetics and Scientology is new . . . . even the study technology!
Dianetics was originally meant to be a branch of Psychiatry iirc. But then, later on around late 1950, he realized that not only is Psychiatry no solution at all, but they wouldn't accept Dianetics as a solution since it didn't make Psychiatrists as much money :') even though it produced in 15 hours what took Freudian Analysis YEARS of work. But, in the mind of the Psychiatrist, why cure when you can "work to a cure" (that already exists) and bill them every step of the way?

I found that the therapy aspects of auditing was great. YET the politics and other bs took away from it. Plus it cost more than a lawyer.
