Great video! Instead of using water from the tap to clean, I'll collect the first 5 gallons of hot water pulled through the immersion chiller. I'll recirc @ 60C for 30 mins and I find it cleans things quite nicely!
I was doing a similar method for my Brewzilla 3.1. Happy to see I wasn't too far off the mark. I learned a couple of new tricks. Thanks for the content!
@@graintoglass Once I've done a good initial rinse to get most of the solids out, I add PBW to about 3-4 gal, heat to strike temp and recirc for about 1/2 hour. I'm always amazed at the stuff the hot PBW will coax out of the shadows!
Do you really need to recirculate PBW for 30 minutes? Seems like a long time and an unnecessary addition to a brewday. Most of us bought this system to shorten the brewday.
Five Star recommends PBW be used for 25-35 minutes. You could probably get away with less time but it's little to no effort and insures your system pump and recirculation arm is clean. Cheers
Hi, it's the first thing I mention cleaning around 15 seconds in. I just spray it off with hot water and then take a sponge or cloth to remove any remaining grains. Cheers

@@graintoglass Waiting on the brewzilla controller + RAPT video! I don't think there is a comprehensive video of that anywhere on youtube. Thank you!
@@amrith10 We will for sure be doing the Gen 4 controller very soon!
@@graintoglass Aamzing! Looking forward. Please do cover the basics of the RAPT portal as well. Cheers!

Yes I used hot tap water in this video. Our tap water here is very hot, around 140f. Cheers

Any advice for cleaning a new brew system before a first run? Sláinte 🇮🇪
I always clean any new equipment with PBW. Cheers
After using PBW for cleaning, do you have to use sanstar to sanitize before brewing again with your brewzilla?
I personally don't since at that point it's clean and you will be boiling in it which should kill any bacteria that may be present. Cheers
Hi do you rinse with cold water or hot water ?
I usually use cold water to rinse. Cheers

OK... I came to this video for cleaning tips, but I am distracted by the song in the back ground. Who is the artist?
I'll ask our video editor and get back to you.
I was distracted too. I found it's the tune Circuits by Alexander Nakarada.
@@frodesy Thanks our editor couldn't remember the song.
@@frodesy Thank you!! Side note - I bought a Brewzilla after watching this video and would highly recommend the system
How about the malt tube ? The outside you didnt rinse ?

Can you use starsan instead of PBW
Hi, starsan is a great sanitizer but is not good for cleaning like PBW is. Cheers
good video
Thank you!
You should advise to turn it off before cleaning. It’s an irresponsibility to do it when it’s still energized.
