    Hi Kathleen , just wanted to say excellent video. You covered all the things I was interested in. One question though. Whats internet access like there? Do you get good consistent connection and speed similar to Australia?

      Thanks Peter for your comment!
      In Vanuatu, you can have Internet from telephone towers (can be slow but somewhat reliable) or satellite (faster, however our dish got damaged after the cyclones).
      Mobile data is more expensive compared to Aus, and you can go with Digicel or Vodaphone.
      Hope this helps!

    Very enjoyable but what a difference from when I and my family lived in Port Vila in the 1970s when the group was known as the New Hebrides. I found it difficult to identify some of the locations but I recognized the name Au Bon Marche. The store is much bigger than when we were there. Iririki Island used to be where the British Resident Commissioner lived. He travelled to and from his office in the town every day by small motor launch. My office looked right out over the bay, it was a beautiful place to work. In spite of the changes, I envy you.

      Thank you for commenting! It's amazing to hear what Port Vila was like before Independence. I'm sure there were both good and bad changes, but either way, it is a beautiful country.

      Hi there! I would say Vanuatu is quite a safe country. However, I would take the same precautions in any country, really. Personally, as a girl, I wouldn't roam around alone at night, and not everywhere is lit up with streetlights. As for how friendly people are, it varies, but in general, I would give it a 9-10 :) Hope this helps!

    • @KRyanProductions
      @KRyanProductions  7 місяців тому +1

      Hi @plangiQQ ! Thank you for your comment. Treatment depends on the venomous creature, and I'm not sure about the availability of antivenoms. In general, sea krait/snake bites are lethal (all land snakes are not venomous) but they are easy to avoid, and stonefish and centepedes sting pain can be leviated with hot water. I hope this helps!

      Hi! Thanks for your question 😊. We aren't too concerned with malaria. It exists more in the outer islands, but I'm sure you could get vaccines. There is also dengue fever, which is more common, but my family has never had it, and there are traditional treatments. If anything serious happens, there is medivac to New Cal or Aus.
