I'm just curious how do you pull focus with this setup being that you're using the bmpcc 6k pro? I noticed this gimbal doesn't come with a focus motor like the rs3
9:52 That Inverted Low Angle Tilt Up shot is so important to me whenever I have to film dance videos. Thanks for bringing this up. It’s a shame they don’t have any Nato rail attachments on the sides, because the inverted mode is really annoying with one handle especially for longer shooting.
It’s my favorite angle too especially with a wide lens. Good point about having dual handle when you are inverted. It would be cool if the side handle could flip. I’m taking notes. Thanks!
Great tutorial Mr. Park. My Crane 4 just delivered today, and I am enjoying the comparison difference between it and my Crane 3. Thank you for the tips. I am using it for an upcoming wedding, and your tips will help me overcome a few obstacles.
thank you so much you just provided the info that i needed ... Crane 4 it is ... i was on the fence of the crane4 or DJI . the crane 4 combo is amazing.
With your 24-70/Sony combo Do you feel like it lasts an entire 8 hr wedding day? I’ve found that my weebil 3 handles amazing on either end of the lens. But around the 5 hr mark it’ll go from full power to 2 bars then the last 3hrs I’m always worried. Considering buying a power bank that can at least get me back to 3 lines of battery while I’m eating lol
Now that's a beast of a lens! Good question. It's not in the list of compatible lenses for Sony + Crane 4, but then again it doesn't list a lot of the third party lenses. I have not tried it myself with Crane 4, but I have tried it with Crane 2S. My guess is that it would balance at 35mm, but it would be tight if you try to balance it in the middle. May have to ditch the cage too. Buddy of mine has that lens. If I see him, I'll try it.
hey ! thanks for explaining those things! I also have the same gimbal and ive noticed that when I use the light the gimbal stops working. have you experienced it too?
You’re right. Both flip methods would be challenging if you have an external monitor. It would be overkill but you would need a built in wireless monitor. Good point! Thanks for that comment!
Hey hey Se-Se! I’m still on my DJI Osmo 6, but it’s always good to watch your reviews in case I feel like spending the rent money on stuff I personally don’t need (ie the Onion dolly rail I never used). I have a loft full of such items 😂.
Haha my coupon code is good all year around. Gimbal depreciate fast so you want to get the right one when you get your gear lined up. You know who to talk to when you are ready! 😁👍🤜 Appreciate you still watching it!
@@SeParkcheers mate. I do indeed. I still do all my videos with an iPhone, but I’m considering upping my game to the Sony ZV-1 soon. I’ll need a new gimbal then for sure and I’ll make sure I get one via your affiliate link.
Brotha have you used this with the ProAim Airwave V5? My 3S works great but I feel the Crane 4 would do a better job stabilizing footage doing roller shots for cars.
Another reviewer mentioned that inverting the camera on a car mount made it unstable. Your inversion trick doesn't seem unstable to me. What version of the firmware were you running?
The video was made during 1.76 firmware. I am running 1.78 now. Haven’t had any stability issue inverted but still waiting on the low angle inverted joystick fix.
Hey Shawn, I just ran into the video you mentioned. If you're talking about Armando's video, yes I have seen that wobble. If the motor strength is set to high and if I don't hold the gimbal tight while going inverted, the gimbal sometimes gets confused trying to center itself constantly and shakes like that. So I can see how that could be a problem on a car mount vibration isolator. When I turn down the motor power and hold the gimbal firmly while inverted, that issue goes away. So yeh this would be an easy firmware fix also.
Thank you but, it would've be nice if I'd have a memo that I would use the gimbal 5 times for its battery to stop functioning obviously even after being careful not to overcharge it
Hi Se Park. I have to buy a stabilizer for the bmpcc 6k Pro to use with the Tokina Cinema 16-28 zoom and the Tokina Cinema 50-135. I'm undecided between Zhiyun 3S Pro and Zhiyun Crane 4. Which one do you recommend? Thank you very much.
on the C3s the only complaint i have is that the shaft where the gimbal arms connect to the stick seems to be getting loose, is that an issue on the new C4
Yeh I remember Crane 3S arms feeling like industrial metal arm. 😆 The adjustment contact points felt like it too. Crane 4 feels less industrial and more like camera gear but only time will tell. The metal parts are definitely machined better.
Hi Park, Thanks for the video and explanation, test footage says no post ( 24fps no wrap) stabilization, is it in camera stabilization was on or off or standard or active? Pls let me know. Thanks a ton for all your hard-work.
Hi, good question and thanks so much. IBIS was on standard mode for my Sony camera, which is how I use my gimbals. One could argue that I should turn that off for the test but I thought this is the most realistic scenario.
i don't have any hands-on experience with this product but I think it would be better if the it lost the fill light or it was optional. Great review though - very useful.
Falcam f38 for the win! Lol 😂 Great breakdown as always! Gimbal king! Man Disney footage before the COVID…..darn that COVID!!!! The maverick!! Lol your such a pro! Great video dude!
The fact that Zhiyun doesn't list a payload number for their gimbals gives me no faith that this company is doing its due diligence to make sure these gimbals are capable and reliable machines. Imagine selling a car without telling people how much horsepower is available. It's one of the most critical specs when purchasing something like this.
Unfortunately, I just got my Weebill 3s combo. I use a Nikon D810. I thought it could handle it with my 85mm lens. But, the balance just doesn't balance. And it's my fault for just seeing it can handle a D-SLR. But, only specific ones. I looked at a LOT of video reviews of the Weebill 3s and didn't think to go look at the actual website since I was getting it on Amazon. Turns out they have a compability section. After trying to get a "perfect balance" and not really getting due to weight/spacing, I saw the Crane 4 is it. Which makes sense seeing the size of it compared to the Weebill 3s. I will say I'm majorly disappointed because everything was pointing to the 3s. Oh well. I'll return it and be do more research.
Here I've been torn between the Weebill 2 on clearance for $299 or getting the Weebill 3S this past few weeks. Now I've got another option with the fact this one can handle the weight of the 24-120 🤣😭
Haha these days you have a lot of choices. Weebill 2 camera cradle space is little larger than Weebill 3 and 3S. Using a cage elevates the camera position and it will also require you to have a larger camera cradle space. Of course it depends on your budget too.
@nVuFilms if you want to be profesional and award winning get the Lab4 for your upcoming videos from now on joke XD, Love your videos man!! Zhiyun every year new gimbals their style selling products. Next year sure Lab4s
Crane4 has a lot of problems and is under stress. Pov is too slow. When you install fx6, it shakes and bounces because of the sling grip. Crane2S Everything is perfect
Crane 2S is legendary. 😁 I think Crane 4 as a large hybrid mirrorless camera gimbal and not a cinema camera gimbal. Basically this is not a Crane 3S successor but a really good “in-between” gimbal between Weebill 3S and Crane 2S. I can see how this is not strong enough for FX6. I know the naming convention can throw people off.
Because some people debate which class gimbal to get. Crane 4 is smaller than Crane 2S, which came out after Crane 3S. So the numeric sequence doesn’t mean it’s a follow up. Sure one could compare Crane 4 to Crane 3S, but I’m trying to work with what I got and help out people who are looking at the most recent Zhiyun gimbals.
I still say the the weebill s what's the best design ever, they need to go back to this design and do something better. I really don't get something about some company's how you see so much success with something and you decide next year to do something different, the person in charge of marketing and design need to be fired. I don't like the new handle I prefer I prefer 1000 more the weebill s
My last gimbal I purchased was the Crane M3. I purchased this gimbal as an extra sturdy support for my Samsung flagship camera phone. Unfortunately, the forward/back arm was too short and would not extend enough for the tall camera phone even though it was much lighter than a mirrorless rig. If the gimbal of that cost ($400 at the time) can't balance a mere camera phone out of the box, then I'd rather get something else that can. Thing is, with all the reviews on youtube, not a single one used a flagship Samsung phone. Only those made by Apple which are smaller. Its not just the weight, its the height as well. More reviewers need to keep that in mind when making these reviews.
For the side handle with foam, I'm pretty sure you can cut the handle and replace it by a nice bike handle with a hand stopper at the extremity, come even have turn signal led just in case 😂😂😂 Don't buy an ergonomic one though because it won't be anymore when you change the handle angle.
I like that it comfortably works with a BMPCC 6k pro. And honestly, that's all I'd need it to do.
I'm just curious how do you pull focus with this setup being that you're using the bmpcc 6k pro? I noticed this gimbal doesn't come with a focus motor like the rs3

I like the flip fixes at the end but if you have an external monitor attached to the gimbal stick, the cable from camera to monitor might get twisted.
